A harem anime I watched quite a while ago. In it there was a scene where the male lead is in a play with one of the female leads. For some reason her dress comes apart during the play and the male lead heroicly puts his coat on her and kisses her making other female leads jealous... Someone pls tell me the name of this anime. |

Prince of Tennis: It was good enough to make it on Toonami in the U.S., so I think that quality must be there Hajime no Ippo: Airing for 13 years multiple seasons, an OVA, and a couple specials. Basquash!: giant robots playing basketball in outer space. I will repeat. giant robots playing basketball in outer space Eyeshield 21: Comedy on the Football Field Slam Dunk: Honestly probably paved the way for Kuroko no Basket Initial D: Mother of all racing anime. Inazuma 11: I know little about this but its soccer here is a whole lot more: Whole lot more |

Please check my list and tell them to me, if they're on my PTW or onhold can you please tell me why. |

Hey all, Been an anime fan for a few years now, but always tended to keep it to myself as it isn't very popular in the deep-south. I didn't really have a problem finding new anime to pick up but, I finally decided to make a MAL account to properly tack my ledger of shows and to probe the community to see if I'm missing out on anything big/iconic. Long story short, I've been having more and more trouble finding new anime to pick up that interest me and was hoping you guys/gals could recommend me some shows? I'll nip the big 3 thing in the butt right away. As you will see from my list, I more so enjoy shows with endings and plots that are metaphoric or just make you think critically. So if you wouldn't mind taking a look at my list and telling me if you think I'm missing out on something amazing or if I dropped a show too soon that would be amazing. Thanks in advance! *Not sure if this is the right thread to request something like this, if it's not could someone redirect me to a more proper thread? |

Thanks for the warm welcomes and vast recommendations! @Newmn84 - You are a clairvoyant. My brother just recommended Shinsekai yori to me earlier today. With his and your recommendation it will be my next in line, probably starting it tomorrow since he has it already. @Konik - I read the synopses of the list you gave me and Bokurano grabbed my attention the most. Probably going to try and pick it up at some point. |

Two Recommendation Requests The first one is a very serious anime, something realistic and with firearms. In the line of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Ghost in the Shell, Black Lagoon, Gunslinger Girls, that sort of realistic attitude where characters aren't hiding "special techniques" and doing amazing feats of combat. The second one is something extremely graphic, violence, not sexually. Along the lines of Mirai Nikki, School Days, that last episode of GiTS:SAC 2ndGiG, Elfen Lied. But not something comically graphic, I want decapitation and everything, full impact wounds :P |

Something that has a group of people (preferrably friends) that seems normal in the begining, but showcases what people you could see on the street every day could have on their shoulders, a real tear jerker. Could anyone recommend me some anime with tearful and emotional goodbyes. Let's say similar to Anohana's ending, when Hachikuji passed on in Monogatari, or Ano Natsu de Matteru's ending I think it should be either a single or two cour series as opposed a movie, long enough so I actually care about the characters by the time of the farewell. (I've realized this from watching the Hotarubi short film) |

hello. I've been struggling to choose animes to watch. I have an handful of them on hold, but it is more and more hard to find animes that keep in mind that I will like to watch them. I'm not one to attend "slice-of life" but that does not mean hate it, long as it has interesting story. I am not to attend animes pure action, but doesn't mean I never saw or hate it. I see Don't romance as I see horror. Don't care if it is rated "13" as "R +" with mild nudity or profanity. Is at the mercy of those who wish to suggest, if you want to check my list for a more studied approach. I apologize for the inconvenience. |

Hey all. I've been watching some mystery/slice of life anime recently. Specifically, Hyouka, Ghost Hunt, and Welcome to the NHK. I'm not a person that's generally big on romance, but these all were a bit of a let down in that area after making it seem like things were going in that direction. Can someone recommend me a show a bit like what I just mentioned, but where the romance actually results in something by the end? Just tired of all these taunting almost-romance plots. Oh, and preferably something at least as recent as 2007, but earlier is fine if that complicates things.. |

Well I'm not the best one to recommend animes, but I can tell some that I saw and I think you can see if it is interesting: - Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi (Mystery, Fantasy) - 2013 - Gosick (Mystery, Drama, Romance) - 2011 - Kamisama no Memochou (Mystery) - 2011 - Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Comedy, Drama, Romance, School, Slice of Life) - 2012 - Bakemonogatari (Mystery, Romance, Vampire, Supernatural) - 2010 [All series/OVA] - UN-GO (Mystery, Supernatural) - 2011 I can't recommend comparing "Hyouka" because I have it queued, but well let me know if you want more of it. |

Hellsing Ultimate is an alternative version, so it's the same thing but made differently. So You can either watch one or another. In this case, Hellsing Ultimate is the better version. So You don't need to watch TV series to understand the OVA. |
