Not to say this show/manga is super-deep or anything but there's a lot more to it than meets the eye, and when that convincing sense of peril and dread is combined with the more cerebral elements of the show, a damned good effect is created.

Actually, it does have super-deep themes which somehow is being conveyed in a simple fashion.

Also, for a gore series, the palette used is bright colorful.

And the characterizations are very well done. This series stars a main trio, not just a MC. (I am getting tired of explaining how Eren, Mikasa and Armin are suppose to complement each other.)

Well-said.

Jesus fucking Christ, don't you losers have anything better to jerk off to?

And anybody complaining about Eren, I have to ask, are you autistic?

Right? I was hoping people would be talking about how dreadful the situation the humans face is, or that badass armored titan.

People gots to bitch about what they perceive as fanservice and such though

Because complimenting a series is too mainstream.

I also feel that the anime is doing a better job than the manga so far at showing the bond between our 3 heroes. I actually felt very strong camaraderie between them.

THe higher ups are as always just a bunch of assholes. There is no way that 250000 people couldnt survive by themselves living on their own cultivated fields etc inside the area between Rose and Shina.

Instead they should work on already existed fields or fight against the titans without any previous training.

Food shortage. People would have starved to death, whether or not they tried to retake Wall Maria.

Since the higher-ups couldn't deal with people starving on their doorsteps, increased banditry, revolts, robbery, murdering each other for food, they sold an idea to the public that they would retake Wall Maria.

This will be brought up again in later episodes.

YEah because the higher ups were obviously getting the same share of food as them.

Again the area between Rose and Shina is large enough for those 250000+ people to be able to live, without the help of those already living in the inner walls. And seeing in later chapters how dedicated(sarcasm) those higher ups/those with power are to help or provide info ,I am sure that they just took the easy, for them, way out of the problem.

Whoa, what the hell is with the scene with Eren and his Dad with the syringe? It makes me a bit confused on whether or not he ever met up with dad after the attack. Mikasa said no but then he has the key and the flashback mentions that his mom is already dead. Aw, the confusion really makes me want to read the manga to find out.

And is the running armored titan a robot? The fire-breathing felt weird.

First thing, I don't jerk off to mikasa. Second thing, this is a discussion topic, we say what we like, we complain what we hate. Saying people talking what they want are losers is pretty rude you know? If you are annoyed, just change the topic, or don't even read those posts at all, don't act like a jerk!

In my opinion, I didn't really notice the story alluding to many themes so much as it was focused on portraying the visceral and indiscriminate nature of death [by Titans] and the subsequent mental deterioration of the soldiers when faced with these enigmatic [and overwhelming] creatures.
Maybe there was a little something about how quick people are to ostracize someone who isn't congruent to their perception of a "proper" human being? It doesn't really delve much into that though.
Aside from that, I didn't really notice any "super deep" themes in the manga; this, of course, isn't to say that it wasn't fucking awesome. A page turner, certainly.
Honestly, I would say that there's the [very human] theme of haplessly struggling against a seemingly inevitable fate, that being the downfall of mankind, but almost every time a character started spouting an inspirational speech along those lines, they died. :/

Boo hoo.

I recognize that complaining about people discussing a topic I find stupid is a little unnecessary and isn't very productive. I'm ok with that. But I can't help but laugh at the blatant hypocrisy of somebody who complains about a post of somebody else complaining about a post.

If you find me too mean, you should take your own advice and "don't even read those posts at all".

And I did try to change the topic.. sorta. I mentioned people criticizing the main character perhaps being somewhere on the autism spectrum.

Wait, I'm kind of confused..

To the non-manga readers, what the hell is so damn special about Mikasa?

She's average looking. Not ugly, not spectacular. And her personality is bland. She has almost no emotion, and just blankly stares at everything. You'd think that she would be a little more emotional, seeing the death of her own mother right in front of her eyes.. perhaps she has some sort of mental disability?

But seriously, she's had like 10 lines of dialogue total. What's the big deal? Is it just because she's the only prevalent female presence so far? That's what it's coming off as. If so, that's really pathetic.

That is just the role really, from what I'd assume has had to take up because she is adopted, can't digress the fact they look alike also but still, I doubt it.

Really? I just wasn't picking up many familial vibes between her and the parents. She was giving me more of a "homeless family friend/surrogate big sister" impression.

Haha, yeah that is true. I didn't notice those cause it was short and even that point was overshadowed by the attack of the colossal titan. But after that, her interaction with eren seems like a protective sister.

You kind of pick up that she's the foster sister in their differing appearance and mannerisms towards each other.

That may be true but it is quite vague, for myself, I did think that they are kinda related somehow until her past was reveal (she looks like an older sister to me).

Protective sister who's unrelated by blood.
I think I know where this is going
This is creepy.The gif...

Actually I don't mind if she rape him. Eren is too busy with revenge and a thick headed bastard.

Because complimenting a series is too mainstream.

It's looking better now.

Well-said.

I also feel that the anime is doing a better job than the manga so far at showing the bond between our 3 heroes. I actually felt very strong camaraderie between them.

Adding to this, I think this is a better medium for this story. The Armored Titan scene wasn't as affecting in the manga.

Ok, I'm just going to re-post this because it got over-shadowed by my Mikasa post, and it pertains to this conversation:
