Moderator edit: Please do not try to bring SAO in this discussion. It doesn't need it, and it only creates very conflicting opinions. Thanks. Animation is pretty good so far and I liked the soundtrack. 1 minute in and already a huge ass giant lol. Pretty good OP song as well. I am definitely impressed as what I can see with the action in the opening scenes. Mm, some of the voices fits well I guess. Mikasa's design looks well though! Oh ya, there's some more cruel and sad scenes. As a fan of the manga, I'm impressed so far. So many damn giants. I feel sorry for Eren though and damn this giant is butt ugly imo:  Holy shit. |

| Great introductory episode. Production values will be the least of our worries. Especially the OST. Also, good focus on facial expressions and eyes. They convey emotions very well. |

| I approve of the adaptation, WIT did an amazing job, I like the little additions like the preaching guy, the blood on Eren's fingers and the camera work a manga can't do, the colossal titan's attack looked awesome. They should have kept the manga's beginning though, it would have been better for the narrative. Also, Mikasa is the best character, it sucks a little bit though that she lost her look in the manga but that's just my opinion. Oh, and I noticed censoring. |

| There was censorship, but it wasn't stupid "cover half the screen in black" a la TE. It was actually subtle and in a way I didn't mind it at all. |

| I like the pacing, they are following the manga word for word. Thank you Linked Horizon for that amazing OP. Sawano Hiroyuki did a excellent job on the OST this ep I hope he continues to impress me next episode. The art/and animation were top notch, that wall breach scene gave me chills. 5/5 |

| The pacing was also fantastic. It was on the slightly slow side which I'm thankful for since it meant they weren't rushing through the minor details in the beginning. The encounter with the titan at the end was amazingly done. |

| this is the first time ever, that i've watched a RAW. I had huge exportations for this anime, and it surpassed it. Everything was flawless, i'm soo happy they are doing this story justice. Can't wait to see more of one of my favorite mangas come to life If they keep this up, this wont just be the best anime of 2013, but the best anime PERIOD |

| This was a really awesome episode. I wasn't digging the PV much but some friends of mine really are really enjoying the manga and episode 1 didn't disappoint me. This looks like one of the better releases this season so far. |

| I think i'm going to drop this since i read the manga. I seriously hate Yuki Kaji voice. I just knew he would do that damn whining voice. Everything was perfect except for that annoying voice. I'm glad my favorite Japanese composer doing the OST. |

| Protagonist is kind of one of those immature pricks, but the drama is top notch. Haven't been so disturbed in such a long time. I mean -- death of immediate relatives is common is anime, but being eaten alive in front of the protagonist is just, wow. Gonna keep following. |
