Yaay~ Finally Akuzerith gets animated and we'll be seeing short-haired Luke next week... As this series has been doing so far, the anime basically did a neat and complete adaption, though a couple of scenes were still skipped [like the part where the party is unable to save the sinking child]. I also liked the game better in that you could pound Asch into the ground instead...hehe. |

This episode definitely paid off for what we experienced last week with whiny/bossy Luke. It wasn't surprising for me for what occurs in this episode, seeing as how previous episodes were building up to this point. @Frito: Yeah, that basically sums it up. Luke was living it in style for all these years while Asch did work for the Order. |

As for the post, it was so great it had to be edited by a mod, cause y'know screaming in caps whining about how much he hates this and that is a great "review" of the episode. Staying on topic, how far is the story if it's compared to the game? Halfway mark? What levels would the party be at? *snickers* I'd lol if the anime decided to have them do sidequests. |

Yes, this is about the halfway mark. Depending on the person playing the party could be anywhere from lv. 25-35 (but grade shop, and number of enemies battled changes things a bit) I hope they do the mushroom road sidequest in the anime. It's the only other time Asch becomes part of the party and it has one of the most humorous skits. :D Anise: What was that mushroom's name again? Asch: ... Rugnican death cap. Anise: That sounds pretty poisonous to me... Asch: No, the poisonous one is the Great Rugnican death cap. Natalia: I-is there any difference? Asch: The poison. Guy: Yeah, well, we already know that. Asch: Then don't ask. Guy: Hey, it's Natalia who asked! Asch: ... Don't blame Natalia. * Asch exits * Natalia: W-wait! Guy: (Somebody isn't making sense here...) Anise: I'm really starting to think Asch isn't as bright as we thought. Classic |

Finally the Akzeriuth episode that I've been waiting for. I expected a lot out of this episode, and it didn't disappoint. The things that happened on Tear's side were also shown, which is definitely a plus. The Force Field fonic hymn was also nicely done. The only part that I notice was skipped was when the party failed to rescue the child, but I think that's about it. Ok, so next time it looks like it will cover Belkend and Ortion Cavern. And we can finally say goodbye to the whiny Luke, since it looks like the very memorable scene in Yulia City will also happen next episode. Looking forward to it. And I wouldn't say this is the halfway point in the game, since there is still a lot to cover (even without all the sidequests), but yes the party should be in the 20's to 30's (without any of the grade shop exp bonuses of course). We'll probably be seeing more mystic artes soon. Sadly I really doubt any of the sidequests would even be included in the show. I really don't think 26 episodes can even fully cover the entire main story, but I'll just see how things will go. |

The game must have been directed by M. Night Shyamalan because that was quite the twist. When I first saw Asch I thought they were supposed to be separated twin brothers, then in episode six I thought that Asch was a clone of Luke, then in this on I find out it's the other way around, WHAT A TWIST! I really like where that went, let's see how this keeps going. |

Someone throw a rock at Luke's head please! He's so damn annoying! All that "Master said it, so i'll do it" stuff was really stupid! At least I know (and I don't even have to play the game to know this) that he'll become a nice guy soon or later. |

Instead of throwing stones at Luke, can we throw stones at the first poster? That'd be kinda cool. Chill pill is needed, wouldn't you say? On another note, I kinda had a feeling Luke was a copy of Asch so I'm interested in seeing how this all goes. Have to say though, I thought that whole scene with everyone shunning Luke one by one was a little cliche. It was okay though, just cliche for me =P |

Ahh, FINALLY. The secrets out and we don't have to avoid spoilers about Luke anymore. GOOD JOB, AKZERIUTH. ;Db I'm glad the next ep will be breezing through the Asch part of the game. Not that I don't like Asch, but it's coming along nicely. Somehow I think the anime will progress not too fast or slow. Really, when you don't have random counters and boss fights, it can get done quicker. |

I feel bad for Luke...that was some bitter medicine he just had to swallow. I hope it does him some good though because his whining the past couple of episodes was really getting on my ever-loving-nerves. I'm kind of dreading him cutting his hair though( he's shown w/ short hair in parts of the intro so I assume it happens eventually). I think his hair right now is nice and suits him well. |

Yes, I actually like him better with the long hair; but it happens in the game, too; and you're stuck with it for the other 2/3rds. The effects were done very nicely in this episode; the Seprihoth area, the miasma, the destruction of Akzeriuth (though, I was sort of expecting the seizure inducing explosion from the Game's OP movie, hehe), the Qliphoth (still can't spell that correctly). And we get a nice minute of Luke going crazy at the end. Very good episode personally. Does anyone else think the 3D model of the Tartarus they use seem out of place, even though it is nicely done? |

I hope Luke jumps off the boat of Asch doesn't finish him off. If I ever found out I completely destroyed a city and killed thousands of people by my error, it's time to preserve a little honor. But he'll live on probably, and hopefully he won't be such an annoying brat...I like Karma though, as long as I'm on her good side. |

Eventually, they find a way to actually neutralize the miasma, and then they end up lowering all of the outer lands into the Qliphoth, or well, it won't be called that anymore then. I'm skipping a lot of things that happens betwwen now and then; I don't want to totally kill the 2nd part of it. IIRC.. this is somewhere past the midpoint of the game... I wouldn't expect to see it in the next 4-6 episodes... I really should get back to playing the game again, i'm behind the anime now >>; |

This was definitely the best episode yet. I'm glad they got all those revelations out of the way. I haven't played the game but, as a huge J-RPG fan, the moment I saw Asch the first thing I said was "He's the real Luke. Luke's a clone," and voila. They've also been hinting at Van being a bad guy for a while (plus he's shown with the villains at the end of the OP) so no surprises there. It's good that Luke finally learnt his lesson, but I do feel sorry for him. I mean, sure he's bossy, arrogant and an idiot but I don't think they should have blamed him for the destruction of that city. That wasn't fully his fault. Tear's words seem to have hurt him the most. He's probably going to start changing now. The preview seems to show some Luke x Tear!! That seems to be what they were planning since the beginning. Speaking of pairings, Asch x Natalia is another obvious outcome. After all, he's the one who promised her they'd get married. Oh, extra note, Asch is awesome. I hope, hope, hope, he becomes a recurring member of the party. To anyone who's played the game: No spoilers please, just tell me if he appears a lot. |

Asch is like the 'cool'-Luke...though honestly I couldn't like him all that much since he is quite unnecessarily rude and never properly makes that transition from tsuntsun to dere that makes all the brusque-ness worth it... And yes, he's a reoccurring character...but is only in your party for a short period [which is probably going to be covered in the next episode]. |

Anyway, I have a theory concerning Ion: I just realized that Ion could be a replica of Sync (or Sync a replica of Ion). They have the same seiyuu, green hair, and Sync can use Ion's power. |

About Asch in the game: He replaces Luke for a while when the party goes to Belkend and Ortion Cavern (this will be covered in the next episode). He can also take the place of Luke in a sidequest at the later parts of the game (I really doubt this will be covered in the show). These are the only times you can use Asch, although iirc it is possible to totally replace Luke with Asch by taking advantage of a bug And actually, your theory about Ion is somewhat close to the truth. But I'm not gonna say anything beyond that. |

I wish Luke would just die even though I know he's not going to. What a lame, lame, lame, lame character. Poorly constructed. They could have tried to make him a little more likable or charismatic. Every time he speaks I just want someone to shut him up. Bad episdoe since it had to have so much of him saying the same lines he's been saying the whole entire time. |

Awesome x3 This was great for advancing with the story-line x3 I'd guessed how Ash/Luke was like that after some thinking but it was nice having the confirmation and having that scene about the Sephiroth and 'Outer Lands' x3 Now let's see if Luke gets better.. A little bit more with that idiotic personality wouldn't be nice ¬¬ I've had enough of it... |

But he 1 up'ed your idea and decided to shove a sword at his head. anyways, i thought this episode was well done compared to the game, however... (surprise surprise) im bummed they didnt add the little boy floating in the miasma, slowly dying, pleading for his parents, just to slip under... was a really painful scene and I think it did a better job driving the emotion home then the dead soldiers littering the Tartarous. |

Gin-iro said: Even in terms of Luke's development this is 1/3 of the way. If the game had ended after the "fake final fight" then yes, this point would be halfway in. Since the game doesn't ends at that point, this is merely 1/3 into the game. Which means it looks like a titanic task to fit the game into 26 episodes. I just hope they don't screw it up, since so far they've done a decent job. The omission on this episode could have help set the mood, but I think the visual cues of the dead people are more than enough for that.Eternal_Blaze said: And I wouldn't say this is the halfway point in the game, since there is still a lot to cover (even without all the sidequests) Well I always consider it the halfway mark because of Luke's turnaround. I thought Tear would say something at least NOT BAD to Luke before abandoning him... :o That was the perfect moment for Luke to suicide himself. Poor him! Asch... suddenly way hott! All he needed was some more air time! Tear x Asch is suddenly so hott! All was needed was them in the same scene, wooooooo! Wth, everyone saying Luke's a loser and everything. Hello? Imagine you weren't even REAL and just a COPY! Like I said, POOR LUKE! |
