Summed up some of the questions I had then created more. Imo should have been neatly wrapped up in the first 12 episodes... |

The foreshadowing for Rea eventual body decay made it a bit sad IMO. Poor Babu. Art is great as always, and we get a new character introduced by the end, with a pet zombie howl?! Looking forward to 14. |

Pretty nice watch! Babu taking charge of the narration was really entertaining for some reason and it was very pleasing to see more of zombie life from his side. Got to say though, it’s so sad how he parted with his friend there. A lot of foreshadowing for disaster to come to both Rea and Babu’s bodies in this episode too, really sad. Meanwhile, Rea got to enjoy a lot more of ‘normal’ school life. It was hilarious how the teacher thought she’s fine now and that her skin is more pale than ever and those gleaming scarlet eyes, but it was nice to see her notice the change in her. Lol @ that depleted tennis ball though, Rea is shy and timid as ever. Very nice to see Rea and Chihiro go for a night stroll too. Overall, a very pleasing episode! Sadly it didn’t exactly pick up from Episode 12 of the tv series but I guess that’s just for forcing us to pick up the manga. New Character here too and she seems to be quite knowledgeable regarding Zombies, definitely interested to see her meet up with Rea. Her pet, on the other hand, has marked(?) Babu, so for one thing she’s aware of their presence I suppose. |

Well, at least this proved that the problems Furuya was worried about with Rea weren't just exclusive to Rea, but applied to Babu too. The main show pretty much glossed over that entirely, considering he's a cat who spends most of his time outside exposed to the elements. |

Baabuuuu!! This 13th episode was cute and I liked it until the ending, why did they have to tease us with that new character when there won't be a 2nd season :( More Chihiro+Rae which is always a good thing in my eyes. Still not sure what happened after the bite and also questioning if I want to put this as completed, it does count as a sequel but it's not really one, great episode nonetheless! |

They tease us with some Ranko tennis boob jiggle physics every single time in the OP, and now... they still don't give us any of that action. I know even short tennis skirts like those have pockets on the insides, but it looks like Ranko put the tennis ball in her f*cking panties wtf Was kind of nice to see Rea go to school again. I like how this series went the "zombies strong" route instead of the "zombies weak" route. Typically they're portrayed as slow brainless and vulnerable, but instead here they're stronger and faster because being a zombie removes the limiter in the brain. Which is actually true; your brain doesn't let you use your full power unless enough adrenaline is pumped in to do so. Babu giving that other cat a piggy back ride and flying across the rooftops deadass is the best thing we've seen from this series so far. And yes this does serve as a slightly better final episode rather than episode 12. Some technical stuff even gets cleared up concerning zombies in this show. So it seems that as long as Rea doesn't exert her muscles too much or stay in the sun too much, or basically just avoids doing any damage whatsoever to her body, she can basically live forever? She just has to take into consideration at all times that her cells no longer regenerate and thus can no longer heal. Although her insides must still be totally messed up since episode 4 with her guts spilling out and all that, so I wonder how she can still continue to eat. Guess we're meant to overlook some things as always. Dangit though, they introduce a new character right at the last second carrying the potential of further interesting development; and it's all for naught because it's been 10 years since this aired, which means pretty much next to 0% chance of a S2. Welp |

Notes from 2013: Feels weird and dislikable to have Episode 13 in Babu's POV... (the cat). I'm not used to cat's talking, especially with that unique voice. Babu talks about their current life and story. I always liked the plot or concept of it being about zombies but I always hated the protagonist and his relationship with the other characters. I think I'm realizing that even though I like the plot of a protagonist reviving a girl by turning her into a zombie and taking care of her. I might almost hate the series how badly it has been done... with a --dislikable boring ugly protagonist, a once beautiful heroine now too pale white skinned with red eyes. And their relationship is too boring and incompatible. A cheerful girl like Rea with a character like Furuya. I don't know if this episode follows the manga but if it does it only makes the story somewhat worse... Rea now a zombie attending school like nothing happened is really stupid. It should be too obvious that she isn't normal anymore. I don't like that unrealistic part of this. And Babu's romantic moment with a cat female is really stupid. Near the end Babu almost ate the female cat. And near the end once again they present a new character showing she has experience of seeing or being a zombie losing control and has interest in that in Japan because she already saw it somewhere else since she's a foreigner. _________________________ Honestly I don't know what score to give it since I don't really like the series the more I realized it in from this episode as a reminder. But since it wasn't hateable as I've already experienced before in other series I'll give it a 5. |
