I'm expecting a murder-suicide or trapped together forever type scenario for the ending.

I hope he will "save" knives by defeating him and teaching him to live life the way he does. And everyone will live happily ever after. But that probably won't happen...

Only one last episode remains and i can't wait to see how that incarnation of Jesus is going to deal with Knives. And then this horrible show will finally be over. Horrible becouse Vash is probably the worst type of main anime character i ever seen >< Being saint is so unnatural and uncool...

While watching this episode sometimes I had a fancy to pass through the screen, grab Vash, shake him and say to him "Get a life, man!!! You had NO choice! That jerk Legato MADE you to do that! Your suffering is his "after-life" triumph!!!". And... No, Vash won't save Knives as he wish, that's impossible.

BTW, It lasted over 100 years until Vash understood correctly, what Rem wanted to say? OMG...

Congrats, scriptwriters, you've totally screwed a f**** awesome character up... :/

Love both Milly and Meryl and I'll miss them if they aren't in the next episode.
Wonder how these two extremes (Vash and Knives) are finally going to reconcile (if they do at all)?

Here I am, sitting in awe, wondering how on earth they managed to ruin perhaps the coolest character ever in just a couple of episodes. I refuse to believe something like that is possible!
Oh well, at least at the very end of the episode he seems to have snapped out of whining and self-pitying. I'm also not very keen on this 'saving Knives' thing but I'm still looking forward to seeing how everything is going to be concluded in the next ep.

I am not seeing how Vash is ruined at all.. the only thing that seems to stick out (without very much being said why it MAKES sense, but enough why it doesnt) is the fact that Vash is over 100 years old and just gets what Rem said now.. I can believe and understand that people can go for long periods of time suffering.. up to 20 or 40 years over something that happened in the past, but 100 years? well.. i guess vash isnt a normal human, and these arent your normal circumstances.

An example of this long periods of time thing thats ABSOLUTELY ridiculous Edward from Twilight being a virgin for his what.. 1000 year existence? and choosing a flavorless plain jane over HOW many girls in those 1000 years? virgin. yeah.. sure buddy.

Maybe i'm missing something, or maybe i just understand this psychological morality stuff really well, but i dont think Vash was ruined. i mean, its obvious hes cool and has a "total badass" switch, but whats really interesting is how he tries so hard to hold onto his morality. that mind control guy was being a total dick pushing Vash to the edge like that. whats admirable about vash is how dear he holds life. so him being pushed to kill that douchebag was something REALLY damaging to him.

Great episode, it improved the mood and I finally feel like this can end in a satisfactory way. I wonder how is Vash gonna deal with Knives.

I guess now is the time for me to say it - there's actually something I like about Meryl - her eyes with gray color are the best thing about her.

disagree, vash's morals and emotions and inner turmoil are what make him interesting. if he just went around shooting shit without thinking things through he wouldn't be vash.

oh and also, Vash is very true to his core beliefs of pacificism because he knows thats the only way he can keep Rem's beliefs, spirit and heart continuing to live. Pursuing the dream in which she wanted.

Call me emotional and all, but I love this episode more than the last one. In some ways, this one ended it in some areas. The scene where Vash is singing under the stars and Meryl sings along actually got me a bit teary eyed. It was so simple, but so well done. Vash is focused but must know how she feels, while she respects him enough to not say anything yet that might get in the way. Aw, good stuff.

He's back his old self and well could Meryl actually be a child of Rem? Either way this sure was a quite lovely but I think we'll see an open ending with the next and last episode!

It was good to see good ol' Vash.

Meryl acted exactly how did Rem when she was trying to save the psycho guy. Poor her, incapable to express her feeling.

So Vash will try to save Knives, where every paths cross.

My thoughts exactly, i don't see how he is ruined, it's actually quite the opposite, it takes real strength to endure such circumstances and not take the easy way out and stick with what he believes in. What's so great about him is how he values each human life whether he agrees with their life choices or not, to live that way without losing himself or despising the people who force him to endure such events is quite admirable.

Vash did not evolve as a character at all, did he. Nothing impressive about a wimp who won't say a word to defend himself.
