Im guilty of having a thing for tsunderes. I liked Taiga and louise from ZNS. Hated the girl from Shakugan no shana though. Something about them being brats but secretly sensitive appeals to me. |

I don't see how them beating up a guy shows their 'love' or how people find it comical, I find it irritating and rude. I don't mind if the girl is simply cold, mean or distant towards the male (like Kurisu in Stein's Gate), but when she starts being aggressive I just get incredibly annoyed and it makes me like the anime less (Taiga (Toradora!) or Ringo (Mawaru Penguindrum) They annoy the hell out of me. Often they are just bitches. And yet because they have a quick turnaround episode at the end everyone just loves them. Hell, some people love them before that. Probably my most loathed character archetype, even more than generic male lead. I don't love any tsundere's, but Kyou and Emi (School Rumble) are two I don't mind. |

Tsundere girls are always ungrateful, unreasonable, and selfish. But for me, Rin, Hinagiku, Mikoto, Makise, Kyou, Haruhi, and Hitagi are exceptions. The most annoying characters for me are every Tsunderie (not that I don't like Kugimiya Rie, in fact I love her voice but the stereotypes she performs are annoying) and Index. |

Basically an tsundere character as it does look like a child, but when it comes to anything related someone she likes she will try to become the character very mature, a character who will try to accept all of fact she had seen and that's what makes this tsundere character interesting. And when someone talk tsundere i just remember some of the best tsundere character like Asuka from NGE, Chidori from FMP and Kurisu from Steins;Gate or somewhat tsundere like Tsukuyo from Gintama & Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai. |

In my opinion I don't find tsundere annoying because they bring entertainment such as comedy which I enjoy watching. Second point is basically they change personality over the course throughout series (tsundere) as they develop feelings for male character :) Everyone has different taste some prefer different genres. |

Tsundere may have good chara development in an anime. But other than that, that one character trait is just absolutely overrated with so many fans worshiping it. I don't like it. |

Darklord_bg said: I agree with you.So far, Kurisu is the only good tsundere that I have encountered. I can tolerate a girl acting cold when she has a good reason, but as soon as she starts using violence, my patience has ended... I know plenty of tsundere that are likeable to me besides Kurisu, especially for them being that way for a good reason. Saber (Fate/Stay Night), Shakugan no Shana, Kyo (Fruits Basket),Asuna (SAO), Kagami (Lucky Star), etc. Those are the few cool and tolerable tsunderes I actually like. But the overly violent, bossy and sadistic types that we keep finding in almost EVERY ANIME, old or new and used as an annoying cliche', are the types of tsundere that I absolutely hated with a passion. Louise(Zero no Tsukaima), Haruhi Suzumiya, and Kirino (Oreimo) are the prime examples of why I hate tsundere so much, but none of these are my FIRST hated. That title goes to one from my childhood before I knew anything about tsundere until I watched more anime. Who could it be? Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold!), without a doubt. |

Maybe he meant Tohsaka (who is a likeable tsundere btw). Saber isn't a Tsundere, but it does have her moments of one in the VN. A interesting Tsundere could be Mion from Higurashi. Surely she hardly looks like one until somebody pays attention on her acts. Caught on TVTropes: Small spoilers "A unique type. She neither acts terribly tsun nor dere, but has the classic signs of denying her attraction or her desire for things. Note that since her "nice side" is the dominant personality, she has slight type B leanings. -If one looks closely, her desires are feminine (she wants to spend time with her friends, she's attracted to Keiichi, etc.) but her methods are very masculine. (She takes a leadership role among her friends, often deciding when and why they meet; she gropes Keiichi, jokes about wanting to have sex with him - you get the idea.)" Oh, in case if you don't know Type A and Type B rank bullshit: Type A (alias Type Tsun or "harsh"): These Tsundere have tsuntsun as their default mood. It takes someone special to trigger their deredere side. The intensity of the tsuntsun can range from "I must glare and fight my way through life" (Louise of The Familiar Of Zero) to grumpy pessimism (Kagami of Lucky Star). It's about which part of the tsundere personality is the public face and which the hidden. If the Tsundere is The Rival, she is more likely to be Type A. Helping a rival out is usually accompanied by a line like "Don't get me wrong, I'm not doing this for you." Type B (alias Type Dere or "sweet"): These Tsundere have deredere as their default mood. They are sweet, kind and generous, but just happen to have a hidden violent side as well. In this case, temper is almost always triggered by someone or something else, usually a Love Interest. Either they have Belligerent Sexual Tension, are an Accidental Pervert, or just have no idea how to handle feelings of love and attraction. May also overlap with Violently Protective Girlfriend if her Love Interest is threatened or in danger. Type B should not be confused with a Yandere. If a Type B Tsundere were really convinced that their Love Interest didn't want them, they would revert back to the deredere side and probably enter an I Want My Beloved to Be Happy phase. I don't pay much attention about Tsunderes, frankly. But I do say that Rin is a good character on her own, although she is 100% Tsundere. |
