| I never really understood why people think AIR is so great. Yeah the concept was pretty sad but I felt the pace was mediocre. I'd say one of the most saddest animes I've watched was Clannad: After Story (the last few episodes of it at least). |

| The ones that made me cry are: Cowboy Bebop Full Moon o Sagashite Grave of the Fireflies. It's a tie between CB and FMOS. They are both sad and they made me shed countless tears. |

| I don't think that anything else can beat Clannad/Clannad: After Story, nor Kanon. They were epic like hell, specially the emotional aspect of Clannad's story/characters, just epic. |

| Cowboy Bebop-One of the only few anime that had any lasting emotional impact on me. Haruhi Suzumiya- Just thinking about her kind of makes me sad. Oh the boredom. Welcome to the NHK- that girl who wanted to commit suicide is depressing. Just the way she acts I kind sort of relate to her. Neon Genesis Evangelion;end of eva/serial experiments lain. To merge with everyone as a group and possibly losing you're individuality is right up there as very sad and depressing. So sad what happens to Lain too. Other notes: grave of the firefly- Didn't have much effect on me. |

| Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora - Even if it's slightly predictable. Still very bittersweet. ef - a tale of melodies - If you've seen it I don't even have to say anything. |

| as hard as it is to believe if you havnt seen much of the series but Gintama has some pretty sad moments that got me teary eyed. Also welcome to the NHK has some prettty depressing moments. Some other sad/depressing anime: Elfen Lied, Air(unnecessarily sad, the anime was not that great overall IMO) Kanon, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom had some sad moments, Gundam 00, and Gundam Seed Destiny. |

| Hokuto no Ken - Plenty of man tear moments, especially when a character dies (ie. Shuu) Ie Naki Ko - every episode gets you depressed in some way Video Girl Ai - The ending gets you pretty depressed Ie Naki Ko takes the cake though. |

| Saikano.::. I think I cried in every episode and there are only 13. It tells you at the end of the tenth if you want a "happy" ending stop watching the anime now...Yea. Super depressing but amazing Elfen Lied.::. This one made me cry at the end too. Super sad Chrno Crusade.::. Again the end was super sad. But again I loved it. Those are my top three. Sure others have sad parts. But these ones have a sad theme and it's in more than like 2 or three episodes.... Side Note: I didn't find Rumbling hearts sad. I know it's a top anime for sooo many, but I didn't like it at all. I found it really boring.... |

| To give a serious reply, the first anime that comes to mind is Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (I hate the "Rumbling Hearts" name with a passion). No, it didn't make me cry, but it had that general heavy feeling of sadness and depression throughout. |

| Hmmm...I were to make a top of animes that made me cry at every sad part that would be... 1.Clannad After Story[ the only anime that made me relate to it and made me cry like a little baby...whoever says that they didn't cry at this anime than they have no soul ] 2.Air [have's some very depressing moments] 3.Angel Beats!
