He only has to show her that her family is about to die.
Yumekichi11 said: Also the hope and destiny terms. Seems to me Sayaka was hoping to have a destiny that she wanted, that of being with Kamijou.
It's a sure thing her hope was to be with Kamiyou, it's shown troughout her barrier.
Her fate... well we've seen it. According to wiki, those wheels of fate were often used to describe the fall of the mighty.
You mentioned "Arthurian ' in association with von Seckendorff: in the Middle ages and Renaissance King Arthur was often depicted as reaching his high early in life, followed by his decline. Shakespeare did the same with King Lear and Macbeth.
Sayaka was very much like a king with her high ideals, who ended up drowning (last barrier) in sorrow.
Here's the intro of Fate/Zero. It gives a great idea of how Urobuchi thinks.

A interesting twist but it shows none the less that she became a Mahou Shojo in a perspective to being loved by Kamijou despite becoming something else and once again becoming a witch. As the mermaid story suggests of the mermaid becoming human then a daughter of the air. 2 transformations.
Hm, I like to think that Kyouko 'safed' her = becoming a daughter of the air in the end.
There's a (celtric) cross after Kyouko's soulgem breaks through the both of them.

They might go somewhere with that, as Homura was talking about disposing of Sayaka's body in a way that wouldn't cause problems.
Yumekichi11 said:Once again Cleo brilliant thinking. Having a fusion to create a super monstrosity sounds to me like something amazing. It may prove to be a EPIC last fight, which is what this series needs since the witch fights were a little lacking except the first one was amazing.
Thanks for the compliment, but I'm still trying to figure things out.
Let's continue this topic in the speculation thread

For some reason I doubt that the producers want to take what we saw in the scene at the park at entirely face value? (aka confession, possible acceptance).
I like to see that too. I think Kamiyou is still alive (left from Homura)
(I'm still expecting he rejected Hitomi due to his feelings for Sayaka).
descent87 said: In some ways it really is yet another tragic love in the series, while I am sure Sayaka had come to appreciate Kyouko things were still quite one-sided till the end. *tear* I think all the MG's have a character-flaw, Kyouko's was her selfishness. In the end she changed and died.
I'm not sure if it was one-sided love though. In that hallway towards Sayaka's barrier, there's an image of Kyouko with her bag of apples. Strange thing is: I can't find Mami anywhere in that hallway (being Sayaka's idol), so maybe in the end her feelings for Kyouko were more important.
descent87 said: Assuming an ending where A: Madoka becomes a magical girl, and B: She has to use QB to do it...I really wonder if Madoka will somewhat have her revenge on that jerk through some very "careful" phrasing of her wish. A big step given Madoka's current timid character but she is becoming a bit more jaded and if done correctly it could be part of an interesting ending.
I think she should ask QB if it's possible to become a magical girl without having her soul in a griefseed.
KiraMustDie said: Also, seeing Sayaka as a witch makes me curious about the other witches in the earlier episodes, and who they were when they were human.
I'm hoping we'll see that in an OVA. There's speculation Charlotte was a terminally ill cancer patient (rows of beds, allowed to eat candy but no dairy products). I want to see their backstory too!
rawrggh said: Even though I do agree that QB being an alien is one of weaker parts of the anime, the entropy reason does make sense as the concept of time was introduced when it was revealed when homura is a time traveler, and entropy is based on space, time, and energy(heat).
I suck at physics, so I need some explaining.
QB needs Madoka's energy to stop the entropy. Would that power be enough to last forever? Because he tells her that in a far future humans are gonna move to his planet (and turn into logical beings as well?). He's taking a huge risk, as godtier witch Madoka can destroy the universe (if what he said was true, and he hasn't lied yet).
rawrggh said: another interesting tidbit is how entropy affects time. In our universe, the direction of time is moving forward since entropy is increasing. But in mahou shoujo, entropy is decreasing so the direction of time is moving the opposite direction. I wonder how it affects homura's time traveling. but this prolly doesnt apply to the anime though. xD
You know, that is interesting, also because the runes in the prologue have to be read backwards. More to speculate about. |
