Chihayafuru
| I think she has really started to grow into a really likeable character. Episode 8 in particular showed that she has a really honest side to her and her going after Taichi just because of a shallow reason of his looks is not the case anymore. She has really started to understand the pain of Taichi and the struggles he is going through. Admirably enough, she put Taichi's interest ahead of her own. Putting whether you want to see her end up with Taichi or not aside, what do you really think about her character and the growth she has shown in this season? |

| She just amazes me. When she was first introduced I thought I'd hate both her and everything she represented for the narrative (a scheming and manipulative "rival" trying to interfere with the relationships of the group, a bratty type who clearly doesn't want anything to do with karuta but is there to create a be mood), but she didn't turn like that... Like at all. I'm very fond of this character and her growth, both understanding the pain and suffering of others and coming to terms with her feelings. She's a kind of character that would be trash in any other show because it's the sort that usually forces cheap drama, but this series manages to handle her with a lot of empathy. One of the best side characters of Chihayafuru. |
| I had same thoughts about all 5 newcomers. They seemed like irrelevant side characters used to help main characters develop at first , especially Komano ... character development in this anime is insane. Even Hiro is not just a meme. |
