I listen to both J-pop that have no relation in any animes or some that are in animes.Anime did get me into J-pop though but thats not the reason why I listen to it.

If I wasn't into anime and someone introduced it to me, I would probably still listen to a lot of Jrock. It might have taken me longer to get over the whole music in another language thing but I still like a lot of it because it is in my musical tastes.

I first heard J-Pop and J-Rock because of anime, but I didn't start listening to it regularly until I started playing JRPGs, specifically the Tales Of series.

If it wasn't for anime I probably wouldn't have been exposed to Japanese music. Though if somebody would have showed me I probably would still have loved it. It is mainly all I listen to now a days but most of it doesn't have anything to do with anime. My favorite bands are Japanese bands. Though I listen to many bands from around the world... just not the US usually. XD

The answer has to be no. The only Japanese songs I listen to on a regular basis are from anime OPs and EDs and OSTs that I have enjoyed. Oh, or those from videogames of a Japanese persuasion.
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:
"Oran Solus? I know him. What a wanker. He still owes me a tenner." Oscar Wilde
"Oran, you're so intelligent and awesome <3" Bakayaro
"Oran's sexy." LolitaDecay
"Oran is a sophisticated penguin." Drybananna
"Oran is a Hand-Eye you faggots." EddieSpaghetti
"Oran for Prime Minister." the_prime_one
"Oran is all that is stated in his sig and more." orbitzz

Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy and Gantz are the only OP themes I legitimately listen to. And they are all English, so I had to vote no. I really can't stand anime music actually, in fact only Champloo has a soundtrack that I can stand and it's only because I am a huge hip-hop and trip-hop head. However I have a decent amount of japanese music that I love quite a bit, like DJ Krush, DJ Kentaro and Nujabes. It seems that asian turntablism and instrumental hip-hop is better than most of the rest of it. So, I have a lot of asian music, but I cannot stand anime music. Usually the fans who like it are the reason I keep my anime love secret too. Just saying.

See, I think most people tend to forget that Jrock is just like American rock, german rock, etc, etc...They only difference...It's in Japanese. Another language from that of English. You wouldn't believe how many people in the U.S think all music is in English. I also have many friends who don't "like" Japanese music because it's in Japanese. Other's don't like it because they don't understand it; and in my opinion, if you don't like music because you don't understand it, then you're not a very musically opened person. Music can be about the lyrics, but it's also about the music it self.

But much like most mainstream american rock and especially pop, japanese rock and pop...not usually too awesome. there's always exceptions, of course, but i think every country has a fairly big and fairly bad music scene too.

but that would be implying that you shouldn't listen to American rock either because it's bad. I'm not talking actually "Bad" music, I'm talking about music that they say "has a good beat, etc.." but would only listen to it if it were in English. One of my friends said this, and he listens to stuff like Bullet for my Valintine. And frankly, he doesn't understand what most of the songs are about anyways.

Well BFMV would be a good example of what I meant by bad...however my terrible douche attitude aside, I see what your saying now. Sorry, misinterpreted it somehow before. I also know quite a few people like this. Is it actually the words over the instrumentality these days? because I have always thought that lyrics quite often come second, and sometimes actually ruin good songs completely. Language regardless. I think music how it all comes together, more often than not. Who cares why they wrote it, really.

Nope. The only Japanese music I listen to is from the opening and closing of anime. I have absolutely no desire to listen to it.

Don't recommend me something that is still publishing, unless its close to being finished. Don't recommend me anything that isn't licensed.

I started with anime but now I listen to all kinds of Japanese music, almost exclusively. (my iPod has 10GB of nothing but Japanese music) Only if I really like an anime song will I download it but only if I can get the whole album which often has other non-anime related music.

Also, right now I'm sort of in a "Hatsune Miku" phase. I've got several of her albums and PV's and I've been listening to them mostly.
