The game of Real Life. It's so hard, that those who beat it are forced into secrecy of not being able to tell anybody else how to beat it! That's why people are still waiting for walkthroughs. |

Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels Mega Man 2 Mega Man Zero Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Gungnir Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Super Mario Bros. 3 The Legend of Zelda Metroid Fusion Tales of the Abyss Tales of Graces f Dark Souls Final Fantasy 1-5 Donkey Kong Country Returns Lollipop Chainsaw Resident Evil Zero Paper Mario: Sticker Star Kingdom Hearts 1 and Birth By Sleep Those are all the ones I can think of at the moment, also just to note on games with different difficulty settings I always play on the highest, so some of the ones I mentioned might not necessarily be too hard on the lower difficulties such as DMC, Mega Man 2, Gungnir, RE, Tales, Lollipop Chainsaw, and KH. |

Idk what that one is called in Japan though.. So yeah, just some silly renaming they did for reasons I don't really know.. |

It still baffles me how people think Dark Souls is hard. It's unforgiving, not hard. The game doesn't require you to be skilled, it just forces you to use your brain and adapt to the game's rules. Don't want to adapt? Prepare to die. My list: Ninja Gaiden 2. Master Ninja....I think anyone who has ever attempted this will agree with me that this shit is ridiculous. When people quit the difficulty after just the first fight, you know that shit is hard. Ninja Gaiden 3:Razor's Edge. Just beat the hardest difficulty today. Not nearly as hard as NG2's master ninja, but still has a few challenging sections. Devil May Cry 3. Only my first playthrough. Now that I've gotten all the weapons and learned some of the more advanced techniques, Super Meat Boy. Battletoads. |

I can't believe no one's said Catherine. That game is fucking ungodly. It's harder than 95% of the stuff in this thread, easy. The only thing I could think of that could be harder are the Ninja Gaiden games on the highest difficulty, and some of the Rock band Network songs on expert drums. |

I wonder if they've tried an SL1 deprived run. If you purposely handicap yourself you can make every game hard. Playing Hitman guns blazing on the highest difficulty is hard. Playing Bayonetta by only shooting your gun is hard. Playing GTA4 with just your fists is hard. Sounds dumb, doesn't it? My comment might have been a bit out of place, since people probably haven't played a game that is harder. But the game being REALLY hard? Nah. Guess I'll explain myself before more people get butthurt. Anyone can beat Dark Souls if they actually learn from their mistakes and/or are instructed how to beat a certain enemy. The game is basically a big trial and error. Once you understand how to tackle certain enemies, they're easy to kill. The game doesn't require you to be very precise or skilled, that's why I don't consider it hard. The game will punish you if you start getting sloppy, that's why it's unforgiving. Fair enough, there are a few encounters/bosses that do require a certain degree of skill. Now compare this to a game like Ninja Gaiden (a game that is actually hard). Even when you're instructed how to beat certain encounters, you probably won't be able to beat them. Because the game also requires precise timing, quick inputs and split second decision making. Something that comes with alot of experience and practice. Even then, the game will remain difficult. Same goes for Super Meat Boy. The level of precision needed for that game is crazy. Yes, the game is harder compared to most games nowadays. But that doesn't mean a thing since games nowadays are easy. I just get kinda tired how people make the game seem harder than it is. I'm done derailing the thread. |

Most games nowadays just require you to point and shoot/click instead of using your brain. That means by today's standards if you actually need to think about what you are doing then the game is usually considered hard. |

Everyone keeps saying Battletoads and COD5, but I don't think either of those should count because they are very hard but in an unfair way because they're poorly designed, they don't really provide a fair challenge like most of the other games mentioned. |
