Just damn, this was an amazing episode. Easiest 10/10 in a long time
It's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.

I felt like there was a lot of weird zoom ins and expressions this episode, like I was watching an episode of Flapjack. Especially with the lips zooming in XD

Best episode so far, entirely down to Thorfinn's characterization. Good to see him basically start to work through his all the shit he's kept buried within him.

The best episode so far. We got a proper one on one with our two central characters and I have to say, the direction was top notch especially the 2nd half

I withhold my Askeladd comparisons last episode but this one literally paralleled it in the first few minutes. I am very interested in this Snake fellow and how he might influence the story going forward. The stable interactions & monologues were the highlights for me. Going deep into Thorfin's insecurities, regret and anguished past with Einar conflicted with his emotions as well. I loved the atmosphere and mood that was presented in those scenes. The animation was consistent as well so overall, a very enjoyable 20 mins. Also, is that a Canute cameo at the end there? Well, it kinda looked like him. I guess we'll find out in coming weeks but for now, season 2 has been decent and pleasing so far

So much budget went into this episode, damn. Especially their mouths lmao. I loved the callback to Thorfinn decapitating that captain from season 1, and that random English mother who combed his hair.

What an outstandingly good episode.

Snake's sudden attack and his certain resemblance of Askeladd, was nothing the shocked Thorfinn had expected at all. Nevertheless his body still managed to response perfectly to the situation. Obviously to a big surprise for all attendees. Thorfinn couldn't comprehend what had happened, but as Snake told him shortly after, his body still says it wants to live. Thorfinn simply has to find something he wants to live for.

For Einar even more questions began to come up and so naturally he asked what Thorfinn did in his past.

The whole sequence in the barn was truly a masterpiece. Knowing that Thorfinn used to be a warrior resulted in one particular emotion dominating Einhar. All the anger and hatred he felt towards these so-called warriors came out, and yet there was some sort of internal conflict that resulted in him not choking Thorfinn to death.. You can't blame him for his feelings. He lost everything which ever had an important meaning to him.

In the meantime, we were able to witness one of Thorfinn's typical nightmares for ourselves. No wonder he screams so much.

I loved Einhar's little speech. It definitely feels like it had some sort of impact on Thorfinn, since he thanked Einhar for waking up him and immediately apologizing that Einhar doesn't get enough sleep because of his screaming. Super excited to see where this "friendship" will go.

A glimpse of Canute at the end? Next episode Thorkell? Oh boy, I'm ready!

What a great episode! I'm torn on the direction they took for the Einar/Thorfinn scene; part of me really loves the stuff they added, but part of me also prefers Einar's simpler response in the manga. Either way though, WE'RE FINALLY GETTING A CANUTE EPISODE NEXT WEEK LET'S GOOOOO!

Even as a slow burner arc, it's so deep and flows beautifully. These full episodes feel so much shorter because of it. This adaption is coming along beautifully.

As someone who complained about Episode 3 being too slow, this was a great episode.

This time, the slow pace worked much better and really helped the intense character moments sink in. The art, animation, acting, writing, they all came together beautifully to make me feel just how horribly broken Thorfinn is, how much Einar had to go through to come to terms with Thorfinn, and where both of them could go from here.

I think there were scenes still that went a little too long, but my faith is somewhat restored. Next week can't come soon enough.

What a fucking episode. Personally, they're really giving justice to the manga as well as expanding on some things, especially Einar. Honestly, I've forgotten a bit of the manga, since it's been a while since I've read this, but it just makes the anime experience even better.

That dream sequence with Thorfinn was so good and of course I have been waiting a long time for his moment with Snake at the beginning, peak.

Next episode is going to be Canute focused, can't wait.

so much for the thorfinn action but still in a way this was a great episode to wake thorfinn up to make him realise that he wants to live. we will be focusing on canute and stuff from next episode it seems. i was really looking forward to see some bonding with hebi but seems like that will have to wait.

einar came in to save the day. him wanting to kill thorfinn was completely understandable but what i liked was for him to realise that his reason for doing so isn't really valid. he himself said that it's not like thorfinn killed his family. the whole last part was really great. also patre, best man.

10/10.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

These are great, you really captured the feelings behind their faces. Did you do it while watching some reference pic or did you did it from your own head?

Best episode so far imo, that was incredible. I'm actually liking the op song more and more as time goes by, I think I like it more than op 1 ngl.

Snake is really cool, the instant swap to Askeladd was very dope too, it showed how scary of a guy Snake is. Thorfinn kept suffering, as expected, the whole nightmare scene was really damn great, internal struggles of Thorfinn is portrayed and directed masterfully, felt similar to how episode 1 was.

The imagery of the cut forests when Thorfinn said that he killed a lot of people; just pure brilliance. They really hammered in how broken Thorfinn is. Also, love that they didn't delay Einar confronting Thorfinn about his previous life as a warrior. Handled so well and I have also heard that they changed it from the manga so I guess I will read that later on.
