OMG why did I miss out on this anime for so long.. last 2 episodes left and I'm craving for more.. I really hope they continue this series in the future but knowing Madhouse, the chances are slim.. also what an ominous foreshadowing between Ikta and Yatori, if that's how the series is gonna end in the future it's going to be tragic but if the author can do it right it would be an awesome end as well.. still hoping a happy end for the knights though..

The scene between Ikta, Yatorishino, and Suuya was actually great. All three of them are in service of the empire, and therefore must follows order from on high, regardless of their personal feelings. That being said, they're all humans that think and feel, and could ignore unreasonable orders if they so choose. Ikta could have fled, leaving the Sinack behind. In doing so, he could have saved the lives of everyone under his command, but he'd lose Nanaqu, the entire Sinack force, and the trust of the entire Sinack population. However, by choosing to prioritize the Sinack, he'd lose close friends attempting to save former enemies.

There's no correct decision here, but what's important was having both Ikta and Yatorishino acknowledge their actions and own up to the casualties. I also liked Yatorishino stating the unconditional necessity of following orders, regardless of emotions. In doing so, she also states that if she were given the order to kill Ikta, she'd absolutely kill him, but she'd first kill her own emotions and identity in order to comply with the order. She acknowledges her own hypocrisy, but also explains the method by which she'd overcome it, even at the cost of her own morality.

Yeah, this show is actually quite well written.
