Whoa, Tsubaki got to kick ass today!

-No, seriously, that last block that he pulled on the goal gave me goosebumps too. That was really hot. I had a bit of a lol when he blocked it with the back of his head and was all distorted afterwards.

-One of those running jokes in anime that I still like is when foreigners are speaking to Japanese characters and they freak the hell out. But then again, I think Pepe giving his creepy smile at you would freak out anybody.

-That being said, this is really taking three episodes? I guess that if ETU wins (they better) that would signify the end of the first "arc" of sorts.

(So, I just realized there's a "Zelbert" on the guys uniform which explains the translation.)

Nice to know that Tatsumi has a plan, and Tsubaki is put ot good use. Hopefully there won't be any bad luck that will once again break his self esteem.

Now ETU better start making some goals!

Lol at Tsubaki's first save. xD And he's like everywhere on the field. I wonder if he can keep this up and if the end of this episode showed him getting tired or actually more inspired.

At that last save there i was afraid Tsubaki was going to pass out or something, but thankfully his 'inner player' has awoken!... Or something like that.
I enjoyed it but at the same time i realize that nothing really happened in this episode. >.>

The end of the episode makes me worry. Remember the OP? at some point Tsubaki's sight seem to go blank. That first save may have done something to his head.

I think that scene in the OP is just him moving so fast that everything looks like a blur.

Maybe Tsubaki overdid it? He did own in the first half though.
I'm really hoping the ETU can win this time..
I probably regret this post by now.

They need to win or Tatsumi will be fired
But then, I'm a bit unhappy with the show as Tatsumi is mainly good at 'doing nothing' lol

They'd obviously win now. A quick counter from a corner for Nagoya with Tsubaki scoring. I guess. The last scene sorts of tells you that in Tsubaki's perception, the stadium suddenly became smaller (he can see Nagoya's keeper clearly while at the other side of the field LOL)

I don't know, I think that scene shows that the game has finally slowed down for him. Sometimes you hear rookies saying they have a hard time with the speed of the game but after a while things slow down and they can flow with the tempo. That's what I think is happening for him.

Would be nice to see ETU play like Germany did (sorry had to get a World Cup reference in somehow ^_^)

Agreed. Looks like Tsubaki's finally adjusted to the speed and rhythm of the game. Those blocks were both painful and exhilarating. Tsubaki! Tsubaki! Tsubaki!

Kuroda's storytelling skill needs some refinement LOL (and his teammates' reactions were priceless). But now it makes sense why he's dominated Itagaki the entire game.

The Brazilian players are just so loose and fun. Tatsumi is cool, but that photographer might be cooler.

Conclusion next week. Right? Right? Please?

Tsubaki 3rd save is great, his 1st and 2nd save is good too but quite silly lol. Somehow i get a feeling that next episode we'll get cliffhanger. I hope this match will have a conclusion next week.

He either was starting to get deaf, or was starting to feel the spirit of giant killing.

I don't think he's getting tired.
I agree with TAB, he's kind of starting to feel the spirit of Giant Killing or the adrenaline rush is getting to him, I'm thinking he's going to be attacking a whole lot next episode or something.

seems like Tsubaki was inspired but the previews suggested that it wont be easy for ETU to win, either.

Tsubaki is shining today, his blocks were kickass, I almost freaked out at the last one.
Also I loved the jokes and the comedy parts, they were really wellplaced this time~
Great episode, I assume the match will end next time, but seeing the preview Nagoya will make a comeback in the last 20 minutes. I wonder how ETU will handle it~~

Well, didn't expect Tsubaki to make fine plays like that. I thought he is always about offense.

Also the preview looks tough for ETU but did I just see Prince running on that preview? He might be the one to win it for ETU since I haven't seen him in this episode.

Great episode. I wonder what that business was with Tsubaki at the end. It looked/sounded like he was about to black out...but that could be just a weird way of showing Tsubaki finally knows what he's doing as a player.

I think it is just that he was too focus on the game that he didn't pay attention to everything else around him. Remember he is a new player and the last 5 games he was pretty much on his own mind. I believe he was just having a feeling how a real game in a stadium feels like. Well, it could be the other around like other people here was talking about, but who knows.

They're really dragging out the episode and let's realise this is a 2 episode anime... But somehow this sole episode confirmed what I knew since the beginning... Tsubaki isn't number 7 just because he just came up from the Farming League branch of the ETU... He's number 7 'cause Tatsumi really believes in Tsubaki and knows that Tsubaki is pretty much like himself in terms of abilities! Tsubaki's potential is ginormous... Maybe being hit by the ball at the head and that lame way yo stop the ball with his back... But maybe he just now realized his potential... He has the same playmaking feel and has exactly the same wide view of the whole pitch just as Tatsumi had... YEHA! I just hope he scores before Nagoya scores... or Gino... GOOO ETU!!!!

And the game was awesome... Murakoshi getting a hold of Zelberto was nice and everyone else knowing what to do in their places was awesome as well.. GOO ETU!!! I know you can win this match!

So what exactly was Tsubaki role? He was a libero sweeper defender? It seems that that was his role.
Strange because i had the impression the guy was an advanced middlefield from the other episode when he was coming to attck from the back with the Italian dude.
And who the hell are the strikers for this team. The Italian guy is a playmaker. He must be middlefield that can play center or advanced.

Anyway the way ETU is going around to do a Giand Killing is obvious. It worked for Greece in 2004 and it worked for Switzerland against Spain in this World Cup.
Standard way of facing stronger teams than you. Defend hard with passion, make them frustrated and while they concentrate only in attacking you kill them with a counter attack.

Now let's get on with this. They better finish this next episode.

Dunno if I have said so before... But it's clear that he's much more like a mixed Midfielder... Like the type that stands right in the middle Circle and goes back and forth and tries to block out anything he has in front and give some way to attack for his team too... He's obviously charged to the left, but sometimes just sweeps whatever he wants like he did with the crossings he made on this episode... Let's just put it simply... He's the kind of Cesc Fabregas... um who else.... Andrea Pirlo and the suchs...

Who's the Forward? Sera... And Gino is the Playmaker and does nothing else besides that... As I said before, Akasaki is the Right Winger... the left is a total mystery to me... anyone besides Tsubaki is unknown to me... Koshi stands as the defensive Midfielder, Kuroda and Sugei are the centerbacks and the rightback is that Ishikawa guy... or something like that... ETU's formation is really interesting..

A dynamic player is always the best player. Even if you're a midfielder, you need to have the ability to defend, and of course, to even attack. Just saying, because in my country's team (Chile) that's the way that most of the players got to be starters, rather than being awesome in just one position. If I could compare him to someone in Chile's (yeah, I love them) team, then It'd be Vidal. He's a defender but in offensive situations he's right there at the left side in the position of a midfielder.

I do like that ETU has the capacity to change from a defensive to an offensive team (even if it didn't show that much in this episode) very easily, most teams can't even do that. And yes, I'm talking about teams in the world cup~

And what I love the most, that the captain isn't the center forward, it does give the series a little more realism.

In the last couple minutes of the episode it looks like Tsubaki has changed his perception of the field. This is probably where the tides of the game will change. Obviously, Tutsumi already knows it will because he didn't give them any new instructions, which is a positive.

That's some great defense by ETU. Lol at the fans. Calling Tsubaki useless. It's not that he's useless it's that he's not confident in his talent. If he can score a goal, it would make Tsubaki gain confidence.

i love how we finally see how tsutami's plans works out, wonder what he planned for the whole game so they win.

tsubaki being reliable is great to see, wonder what with the end, i have a guess it's that spoiler in the opening, or something worse?
