| There's so many fansub groups doing this show, I was wondering what opinions people had about the fansub groups. For example, I like the encoding to be high quality, so maybe Menclave is the best. I assume they take a bit longer than other groups because of the quality, so if you want to watch it quick, who do you personally choose? |

| I've seen Eclipse's subs for other shows (Shana and some of Rental Magica), and find them reliable. Good quality and fast. I'd expect the same for their subs of R2. |

Solid translations, great quality kara, excellent HD encodes and speed to boot. Menclave are a good quality group too, and I was going to go with them until Eclipse released. The quality difference will be little if any at all, and the speed is worth it. |

| Since gg was an obvious choice for the first season, and their super quality hasn't changed, it's gg for me all the way for geass r2 ! Plus they announced HQ rls only ! This is something every group needs to do so that those fuc*** who can't pay 200$ for a new computer can quit watching anime or..wait buy a new one ! |
| the line up for fansub groups is really good for this one, but I'll probably end up watching mostly eclipse because they release their stuff faster, even though I prefer mendoi. |

| Hey, if your talking about video/audio quality: gg = Eclipse = Menclave (they have both the RAW provider and encoder [House (gg's raw provider and encoder at the same time)]) They only differ from Karaoke, typesetting and translations. So, whichever you prefer to get. Better get the one who's fastest. But, since they're all the same in quality, I'll get Eclipse. Cause I like the Karaoke hardsubbed rather than softsubbed, and Eclipse's typesetting is greater than others (imo). And I don't know if anyone will do the recaps since gg already said that they won't sub the recaps. So, I THINK no one will provide the raws for the recaps? Or, maybe what? I don't know. Maybe MenClave?! LOL! Ah, whatever. Just get whatever fansubs you like. But I'm really voting for gg and Eclipse!!! (Don't get MenClave!!! Joke! Just kiddin') EDIT: SEE THIS POST FOR CLARIFICATION!! I'm-a-thinkin' gg and Eclipse are going to be pretty much the same (given by the wrap-up paragraph about gg and Eclipse - see gg's site, point #17). They're using the same raw, so the only difference (apparently) should be small editing changes. Take your pick, though from experience, Eclipse has always been real high quality. |

| Having the same raw is nothing new. A lot of groups use the same handful of raw providers. Transport streams have started to become more common now, too (with closed captions for faster releases) but I simply prefer Eclipse's editing standards, they don't tend to 'Americanise' stuff, which I appreciate as I'm not American. Eclipse tends to leave things a little more literal/native; a standard I approve of. Also, gg basically started out as a trash group like Your-Mom with a lot of stupid practices and shitheaded staff. While they certainly improved over time and started to be a little more serious, I don't think they've ever been up to the standards of Eclipse or Menclave. Perfectly watchable, but when there are better options available as in this case, you can bet I'll ignore them. But then I don't need subs anyway, I only download softsubs out of courtesy of friends I may share series with who do need them. But for archival purposes, I'll definitely take quality. |
| Menclave is doin some great stuff but gg is fast and it was good enough so I stick with GG for now cause I dont want 2 watch I just download who first subs tbh but I download in the end all of menclave ^^ for if I want 2 watch it again in the futur |

| The three main group's is that are doing it are all very good so it is a hard choice. But from what i noticed because i got both eclipse and GG is that the subs are very similar but some of the subs that GG made more sense in what was going on and also it seems more like what the character would say from what we know of them from season 1. So mainly it is just going to be what ever group and subs you like best. |

| ill go with eclipse, they have always been reliable. although, GG is not a bad choice, they did an awesome job on S1, but i will stick with eclipse since i pretty much watch everything they sub. |

| I think gg is still doing a fine job as previously stated from other members.... I think they're a good option! But don't discount the other great fansubbers out there! It's just a personal choice for me! |

| I had a difficult time over this as well, having had watched the first season with gg's subs. My solution: Since gg release their scripts anyway, I might as well get Eclipse's version. If anything, I'd just use gg's subs, although I really love how Eclipse translated. It has a more of a grandeur-like feel that I think characterizes Code Geass wonderfully. Edit: After having seen all 3, I am definitely archiving Menclaves's. |

| Well, don't discuss about getting WHICH fansub's the best. I mean, seriously; this topic is so meaningless. There's no better for the 3 of them. They're just pure excellent. If ever there's a difference in the three. It would have been so small that it can't be defined. So, get one from the one who you are loyal and trusting most. For me, it's Eclipse; just because almost all of their shows (F/SN, HnG, SnS, Clannad) are subbed by them, so I'm used with their translation and etc. If you're more familiar with gg subs, go with them. If with Menclave, go with them. |

| GG is very good and fast. I cant tell that much of a difference between Eclipse and them, so I get whichever comes first. I dont know if your-mom is doing this season but stay away unless you like annoying comments screwing up the show. |

| Hurray for FanSub Drama!!! Seems to me that every group is using the same raw encode and the translation is based off of closed caption. This means that whichever you decide to archive is based on translation preference or pretty typesetting. Its a shame if you can't run CG in HD...pretty drool worthy in my opinion...xD |

| Eclipse definetly, because I've used Eclipse for Shakugan No Shana throughout the whole season. They're fast and reliable and always on time I guess. They're site isn't cluttered like some too, nice and simple ;3 Menclave is okay, not that I can say much, I've only watched 1 ep of Rosario + Vampire subbed by them I believe. |

| Eclipse. GG made quite a few errors in EP2, so in terms of quality Eclipse are currently ahead in terms of translation. I also prefer the larger font Eclipse use. My main reason for sticking with Eclipse is that the GG HD OP/EDs goes out of sync on my crappy computer, where as the Eclipse releases don't ever go out of sync - The Eclipse releases are more crappy computer friendly. |
