Bracing myself for the Canadian winter. This summer was particularly bad this year and I'm not looking forward to it.

How do you feel about the winter season though?

I've lived in Canada all my life, so winter is just business as usual. I'd only fear it if I were homeless or lacked warm clothing.

I live in South Florida in the U.S. My ancestry is also primarily from the tropics region. In winter, temperatures can drop to around the forties (F). So not as cold as other places, but for me its absolutely freezing.

Be safe and well travels,
Chris

It gets cold 0-5 C during night, and rainy. But randomly gets hot and mushy, so during the day it goes anywhere in range 9-28. Sometimes we get reports of 1 hour snow in a mountain city nearby and frost wrecks fields. Showering at morning or night is a pain during winter. But no bugs and no sweat in winter. So winter is the best season.

Living in a part of Asia that will be hit by the Siberian frost and wind, I'm used to it. I enjoy the winter season very much.

It's fucking -35 Celsius and five months of snow piling up to your knees and snowflakes storming your face; no amount of bracing myself seems enough every single year

We used to get a lot of snow here back when I was a kid, now not so much. I live in a desert state so even on the occasions we do get snow, it never really sticks much.

@Kikugi
but anon, that's half the fun

nothin' like tromping around in frostbite temperature for hours in the dead of night, proving your mettle against weather that would KILL any normalfag

the vulcans say that the desert teaches men the meaning of endurance, but it's the ICE that forges real strength

@XMGA030 being a weakling in a comfortable climate is better than a "hardened man" in some tundra bullshit

It's a perfect time to lie in a coffin and sleep until spring.

Just kidding. The truth is, our winter is absolutely miserable - it's too warm for snow, and too cold for greenery. Dreary gloom, basically. I have to drag myself out with pliers for a run every damp, chilly morning.

Still, we do have somewhere to escape this nastiness. At around 1500–2000 meters there is usually some snow, and we can have fun frolicking around - which is exactly what we do.

I'm not gonna preach global warming, but damn, my memory tells me we had some snow in the cities too back in the days...

We don't have winters where I live.
eternal summer, Tropical savanna climate with Two seasons wet and dry, but no winter.
No cold mornings to refresh the mind. No foggy mornings to wrap around your thoughts around mystery . Just relentless sun and sweat, a loop of emotional humidity like a looped anime filler onsen episode hot, humid, and sticky, with no seasonal twist to break the monotony.

It's not that bad in Germany. We do have snow, but it doesn't usually stay for long. I'd say temperatures range from (°C) 0 to 5 degrees during the day and down to -10 degrees max at night.

Terrible, especially in January and February where its brutally cold out and always snowing. The sun setting at 4:30 pm makes it worse as well as all the overcast skies all the time. I definitely prefer summer and wish it was 80-90 degrees all year round.

It all depends on the region. Where I am it's usually pretty mild and wet in December. January & February are much colder, sometimes we get snow in those months, but not much and it's usually gone in a day. I like Christmas time, but winter months in general can be a little annoying, as transport can get interrupted.

I absolutely love the winter season. The lowest it gets is around 5 to 10℃.
Summers here are extremely hot and I don't like it at all. Winter is more cozy, less sweating, cooler and more comfortable. Blankets, Sweaters/Hoodies and Coffee are must. The only bad thing is the flu that spreads during winters.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

Often short but very harsh sometimes with major blizzards and below freezing temperatures.

Where I live now, the weather in winter is beautiful, much nicer than the summer. It's warm, with usual daytime highs ranging anywhere from the low 60s to the low 80s, with occasional days in the 50s (F). It rarely rains, and it's sunny the majority of the time. The coldest it gets here is mid 30s during a few nights in January/February, and even then, people act like it's the end of the world.

I only moved here 10 years ago, in part because the place I grew up had such terrible, long winters. It was in Pennsylvania, right on Lake Erie. Snow as early as Halloween and as late as Easter wasn't uncommon. Because of frequent lake-effect snow, we were usually in the top 10 for snowfall inches in the US, sometimes even in the top 5. Usual daytime highs were teens and 20s, with occasional "warmer" days in the 30s. Night temps were regularly in the single digits, or even below freezing. Blizzards and ice storms happened several times during an average winter.

I hated the weather in my hometown so much that I moved to a place where I'll never have to see snow again. The summers are so hot and humid that going outside feels like wading through a boiling pool, and we get the occasional hurricane, but I'd still take that over my hometown winters.
