In a way it can but I thought maybe if there is some level of anonymity while still maintaining transparency and accountability that would prevent bribery from being practical. I thought of experts aiding them too but these experts also can have too much influence over them. Also I would only have it for more immediate measures while anything more like major criminal law changes would have to also pass a public vote too as a backup measure. I suppose there is a few other approaches. I just started thinking sortition at least gets rid of the issue of political smear campaigns which is why I started leaning toward it as potentially a better form of democracy. |
