https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinosaurus!

These were 2 dinosaur films I first watched when Jurassic Park (1993) was big, so trying to catch on the hype obviously.
They both scared me a lot, as I was pretty young, but they just remind me of happier times.
It took me a bit to remember Dinosaurus! as I'd forgotten the name and only remembered a little bit of the plot, but it saw it again on regular TV in the early 2000s and remembered it that way.

Lord of the Rings, especially The Fellowship of the Ring. To a lesser extent Blade, Men in Black, and various Jackie Chan or Jim Carrey films to choose from. Lately I've also noticed that action and horror films under before 10s have a huge relaxing and sentimental effect on me.

Usually movies that I grew up watching such as Clash of the Titans (1981) and The Prince of Egypt. Those are the types of movies I will never get tired of no matter what.

I don't have one, at least not these days since I'd rather watch something new than something that I already know I like. But the Lord of The Rings trilogy is probably among my most re-watched movies. Aside from that it would be the Stargate-SG1 tv series

Based! That's one that I used to rewatch a lot when growing up along with the first Harry Potter movie. Back when you had to rent VHS tapes. It probably contributed a lot to me wanting to read books about the mythology and history of ancient Egypt in school and really loving the aesthetics of it in my adult life

Prince of Egypt is one of those movies where you can be of any religious identity and still love it to the core. I’m neither Jewish nor Christian, but it’s one of the best animated movies I’ve ever seen.

Watched it when I was 10 and in love ever since. I was always infatuated with Ancient Egypt at that time.

@LoveYourSmile Ah yes, Antichrist, Silence of the Lambs, Saltburn... such comforting movies 🥰🥰🥰 Warms the cockles of my heart, as my grandma would say.

Anyway, back the question, I'd go In the Mood for Love. I rewatched it again recently when I felt sad and I felt weirdly better. It's a sad movie but also cozy. It was mainly shot in Bangkok (the city I was born) so I guess I'm a bit nostalgic as the old alleys remind me of my early childhood. Speaking of it, I'm going to see it this weekend in the cinema!

good will hunting. it's not a stretch to say robin williams' performance in that movie saved my life. i also watched it at a time where it helped me understand many vital things about myself. it's also just a goated movie in general with so many great quotes. i don't reserve the word "beautiful" for many people, but i would say robin williams was a beautiful man without hesitation

If I touch a burning candle, I can feel no pain.
If you cut me with a knife, it's still the same.

yet the pain here that I feel, try and tell me it's not real,
and it seems that I still have a tear to shed

fun fact: the scene where robin williams talks about his wife farting in her sleep was completely improvised. matt damon laughing is genuine and you can even see the camera shaking because the camera man could hardly keep it together

The characters, the adventure, the romance, the hilarious, quotable lines. What can I say? It's a certified classic.

It's a Wonderful Life has some cozy moments, but what's really memorable are the important themes is conveys. Do check it out this Christmas season.

@ame Well it's the typical Wes Anderson style of centered shots with exquisite set design and props, I guess a sort of post-modernism, which leads to the sick, kind of retro, visuals. I wouldn't say it's the very best of his movies comes to any of these (see f.e. Grand Budapest Hotel), but to me it fits so well together with the story and the acting performances.

The story is what makes it the only movie which feels like a bit 'magical' to me, you know that feeling where you just fall in love with something but can't explain why? When it grabs you and doesn't let go? Well I've got that with Moonrise Kingdom. It takes me back to one exact moment when I was a kid, watching TV after school on a wednesday afternoon at my grandparents' place. It was an adventure movie of the 70s, those adventure movies where a group of 4-6 kids go on a hike through a forest and get into wacky situations. It takes me back to exactly that moment.

The script is just outstanding with some amazing lines (f.e. "Jiminy cricket, he flew the coop!") which, coupled with some of the best deliveries ever in my opinion, can stay stuck in your mind for a long time. Talking about deliveries, it has an all-star cast with Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, .... And then the two kids Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward. It's safe to say this movie made me go from unsure to being sure who my favorite actor of all time is (Edward Norton).

All in all you can see I'm pretty passionate about it. When I watched it the first time, it was also the first time I started appreciating the art of cinematography beyond being just 'an enjoyer'.

While I do think it's heavily underrated, I won't say it's a perfect movie either. About 4/6ths into the movie I feel like there's a bit of a pacing issue and that 'magical touch' is gone for a bit. But regardless it's my favorite movie and as you can see I can just keep talking about it. :D

TL;DR: Nothing that stands out as what I like most, it's a combination of all elements.
Nothing amazing ever happens here. Everything is ordinary.

Of course it's one that's on MAL. And it is, for the most part, the only anime I rewatch whenever I feel like it. Urusei Yatsura: Remember my Love. It's an emotional reset for me.

I don't have a favorite non-anime movie. I just don't care for movies outside of the medium of anime.
