@Inexplicable Lolz you're the retarded one, just keep watching and see how it goes.

@Ventus_S Yeah, seeing people being this impatient about the stuff that is a clearly going to be addressed in next episode is really frustrating

Considering Yoshiki's reaction, I doubt he would just brush off what happened. He even left the reunion with his friends earlier, so that he would't have to face it. So I'm sure at least a talk they are having.
Yeah I agree, I’m wondering how Yoshiki will try and break it to him, will he be straightforward or have to tell him in a way his ghostly mind could understand lol.

Can you pin point the volume or the chapter we are on now? I'd like to read the manga too.
@Yasminaa We are in volume 3. Though, it's hard to point out the exact chapter, since the anime isn't adapting things sequentially. reading from chapter 1 would be better, I think. The manga is very different from the anime.

Loved everything about this episode but the anime watchers are total dumbheads really. They dont know to recognize good writing instead go for nonsense mass masala with women objectification at peak & think thats great. They dont realize just because something is a trauma dump does not make it great. Sad reality. Thats why anime fans are called idiots

@PettankoLover Yeah right, Hikaru almost murdered his friend and Yoshiki found out about his Murderous tendency, nothing happened totally. (roll eyes)
Sometimes it really makes me question do people even watch the same show as me?
Guess all they care is cool battle animation with zero plot, then you clearly watching the wrong genre, might as well drop it now.

I really thought that girl was gonna confess her love to Hikaru! She's perceptive, though, good for her. (Although confronting the guy you think is possessed one on one, in the middle of nowhere at night is a dumb move.)

Also, poor Hikaru, he was so sad at the end! I'm glad Yoshiki came around in the after-credits scene. <3

Man, I never really thought about that. Dying is just turning into a different form, but your soul is still the same. Now it makes sense why Hikaru doesn't care if he possessed somebody or not. I really like it when anime make me rethink about my beliefs. This episode is one of them.

amazing juxtapositions of “normal kid activities” to “abhorrent otherworldly yoai horror”. from a storytelling perspective, this is a perfect insight into our protagonist’s headspace and how he is feeling so torn up abt the situation but trying to pretend like everything is normal. the ending feels like he really understands how this is a straight up horrific situation. have the tides turned along with his feelings?

Hikaru true nature is unpredictable (as expected) and it's terryfing, I really thought he was going to kill Asako
I wonder how Hikaru will react around Asako now

Good episode

Man, Asako is so nice and friendly. Hope nothing bad happens to her.

Another super engaging episode. Looking forward to seeing what will change regarding "Hikaru" and Yoshiki's relationship now that the later is fully aware of "Hikaru"'s murderous nature.

Honestly, it was great, but I´m getting scared that we are going to be constantly in this back and forth of yoshiki accepting and denying "Hikaru", I thought since the 4th episode we had that solved but apparently not :/

Not wanting to bother you, but how many chapters does the manga have as of the moment?

I'm curious too. It will certainly be hard to explain it that idea. I'm not sure if Yoshiki will try to make it "learn" that, or if he just gave up, and will take Rie's advice. Yoshiki's reasoning now is so uncertain, and that's what makes this episode great. Can't wait to see how he will react!

Don't worry, it's no bother at all :) It has 37 full chapters (not counting bonus chapters released in each volume)

Chapter 38 began last week with part 38-1. The full chapters are quite long, but they're released in parts.

Ahh, thank you! So by the end of the season there might be content left for a 2nd season, maybe? Since the full chapters are quite long!
I'm already trying to find a way to deal with the fact we are already half way through the anime, crazy. Thank you for the info! I was actually expecting more chapters, since the manga started coming out in 2021, but if they are long and released in different parts, it makes sense.

@PokefanPT I think they'll adapt around 5 volumes in this season, maybe a small part of volume 6. And there are 7 volumes out currently. But I heard that the manga is supposed to end with volume 10, so it will probably take a few years before hypothetical season 2, since it will most likely finish adapting the manga after it already ended. But that's just my prediction for the adaptation, so don't take my word for it haha

EDIT: More specific predictions, but again, I'm just guessing based on current pacing:
EP7 - chapters 16-18
EP8 - chapters 19-20
EP9 - chapters 21-22
EP10 - chapters 23-24
EP11 - chapters 24-26
EP12 - chapters 26-27

Ohh, if that's the case, yeah, the 2nd season will probably only be out after the manga has ended, and will adapt the rest of it, which will probably take quite a bit. Ahhh, the suffering will be a lot (although I might jump to the manga after the anime ends). But now I can have more realistic expectations for this, so thank you for this info, is exactly what I needed! Being only 10 chapters away from the original source, that 2nd season won't be out that soon, that's for sure.

it always surprises me how Yoshiki's reaction to Hikaru being scary is anger
I think he just can't tolerate hurting other people like that
Yoshiki comforted Asako after she fainted because he cares about her, like he cares for all people
same reason why Yoshiki still showed up the next day to walk with Hikaru
he doesn't think he is, but Yoshiki really is a great person

At this point in the anime, I only have two ideas about the protagonist.

Either he's a fucking idiot who, to be with his boyfriend, gives himself over to a freak, or he's a genius who's tricking me into believing it. At first, scenes like when he touches Hikaru's "inside" might make me think it's bizarre yaoi fan service, but on the other hand, I can't help but think he's looking for some weak spot. He can only see his soul, not emotions or thoughts.

In any case, what a wonderful anime.

Asako is surely perceptive of these things, just saved by Yoshiki. If Hikaru’s perception of death is true, it was dead before coming to life.

Confusing episode, to be honest. Everything was great, right up until the very last second. How did Yoshiki get over being so mad at Hikaru for trying to kill Asako in just one night? I can’t get a read on this guy at all, especially with that expressionless look of his he has on his face all the time.

So Yoshiki isn't the only one who knows that it isn't the Hikaru they knew and that his body is possessed, he almost killed Asako that was very scary.

Just started this and finally caught up!

This has been really interesting, im just wanting to see if this monster can truly gain humanity or will it revert back to its natural predatory instincts. It hanging out with people really deceives you that it might be a good 'person' but, the moment it lay its hand on innocent people, that's when you should exorcise it. But then again, it already did the old lady...

Asako was very close to dying there if Yoshiki didn't came.

If Yoshiko hadn't gone after them, Asako would have already crossed over to the other side. Her ability to hear otherworldly beings is interesting, and if what Asako's grandmother said is true, that those spirits were once human, then whatever is inside Hikaru must have been human too. Anyway, that's not Hikaru anymore, so Asako-don't turn your back on her.

I doubt Yoshiki would be so masochistic as to go from being angry at Hikaru to suddenly being fine with him. But honestly, he doesn't have much choice: he has to act like everything is normal. At least he has one advantage: whatever is inside Hikaru can't hurt him. Whether it's because of Hikaru's memories of him is still unknown, though.

I LOVE THIS SERIES RAHH!!!! I'm so so so happy our babygirl cutiepie didn't die to hikaru, holy shit. I keep waiting for evil-ru to reveal that hikaru had a huge crush on yoshiki and that's why he hasn't killed him yet-- seems plausible that evil-ru is going to be super upset if it's not his own feelings... But normal hikaru seemed to be really into the ladies whereas our evil-ru focuses on the tastiness of souls.

Ahaha, we all thought she's going to confess love at him... but nah... She's just shy if she's wrong.
Luckily Yoshiki is there to prevent Asako death.......
When Yoshiki remembering the real Hikaru inside Hikaru room, when real Hikaru disappearing, it sound exactly like inside of a ghost video game...

Been really curious about Asako so good to finally know more about her situation. Also felt like this is the turning point for them untill that last scene where Yoshiki just came to pick him up like nothing happened? Maybe a fakeout. Btw we got Hikaru pov on how he sees people or their souls.

Now it's gotten to be deeply philosophical, and metaphysical. Love it. Also, it appears that this village is really full of psychically aware individuals. It's mostly just awareness at this point. I'm wondering if anyone has some proactive offensive abilties.

I was fully expecting Asako to die there once she asked the fake Hikaru who he is, she still might but I expected it here. As it is I'm curious what her role is going to be from here on, I'm also curious what the other two friends being into each other is going to lead to.

So Asako has been highly intuitive all this time. I thought for a second she saw through Hikaru's true form and that it was all connected.
I really like when Hikaru started getting existential. It only made sense that it did.
