I mean, the idea that humans can co-exist with the supernatural always seemed off. Sure, it happens at times but this episode kinda reaffirms that these connections aren't meant to be.

I like the mixture of drama for this episode. And Nene...her emotional side showed again.

It’s a shame, but yeah, Ao's gone, and ofc Akane wouldn’t take it well, didn’t think he’d actually swing on the Prez though lol. This is gonna end badly for him, probably worse than Kou and Mitsuba. But Nene’s got it even worse, having to live knowing she’s basically the reason Ao died (seriously, why would Hanako just say that out loud rofl), and now she’s stuck in a world without her... and without Hanako too.

Seriously, this was the last thing I expected from this series. Like just imagine being in Nene’s shoes where she’s just lost the two people closest to her, and in her mind, one of them is basically her fault. I wish they explored more of that mindset and shifted the tone, but this show being what it is, it stays happy-go-lucky. Guess that’s on me for expecting too much tbh. I mean, the impact kinda wears off when the problem gets solved in the same episode it’s introduced lol.

Obviously, it won’t be that simple if the answer came this easily. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get blue-balled with something like Hanako’s not actually in the boundary/far shore thing, or they can’t even see him and they only end up saving Ao. But oh well, time will tell, as it's time for the Hanako rescue arc! (And Ao as well I guess lol)

NOOO THIS IS THE SEVERANCE THAT TWITTER WAS TELLING ME ABOUT?? “We could’ve stayed like that forever. I wanted to try living with you too, Yashiro.”

NOBODY TALK TO ME IM GOING TO KILL MYSELF. WHY DO THIS TO ME??? What have I done to deserve this suffering?? You give us that emotional convo between Ao and Akane and then split them apart, tear Hanako and Nene apart and Mitsuba and Kou 😩 what’s even worse is having Nene and the other retain their memories while everyone else forgets about Aoi and they can’t even talk to anyone about the pain they’re feeling

It’s sweet how Minamoto wanted to link up with Nene and Akane to help everyone come to terms with stuff, but that only made Nene even sadder thinking about how Hanako was missing from the party 😭 I want to hug her so bad. Nothing brings people together quite like bonding over losing a loved one

Never even thought about the fact there must be other entrances into the boundary since apparitions appear outside of school too. Thank God πŸ™πŸΎ I need this Hananene reunion so bad. Next week can’t come fast enough

Ouch. Right in the kokoro. I'm not crying, you're crying.
And all that... beautifully done, yet again.

Not sure why the gang's dressed in what looks more like autumn or early spring clothes for summer break, but oh well. The shenanigans provided a nice balance to the first half's drama - and properly separated too, so things didn't get all weirdly mixed up. Which is a nice bonus.

Speaking of punching someone's face in though, I feel Teru should be more of a candidate. Plain insufferable with his persistent stoic smile and never sharing anything, despite apparently knowing everything.

Well the farewell to Hanako and all the other ghosts was emotional and all, but thankfully they didn’t simply “vanish”, instead they just can’t cross over to the world of the living anymore, big props to Teru for telling Nene and Akane that so the tension was eased big time lol. And speaking of Teru, that man really is a badass huh, he’s been out here in his own anime battling ghosts out in the streets to keep everyone safe, when is the Teru spin-off lol. But besides that, I also just really appreciate Teru for helping out Nene and Akane in his own way, it’s not immediately obvious but if you read between the lines like Akane did at the end, Teru’s actually really kind and will help if it’s possible.

So that means next up is a rescue mission for both Hanako and Aoi, but I’m sure it won’t be as easy as simply going in and grabbing them, I imagine in order to allow the dead to roam the world of the living once more, some big change will need to happen, I’m also wondering if they plan to restore Aoi’s life somehow or allow her to come back while being dead at the same time, so many questions but we got the rest of the season to answer them lol, I’m excited to see where this arc takes us, it’s been nothing but heat so far.

Did I miss the reason why the severance needed to occur? I know Number Six was killing a lot of spirits or whatever, but wasn't killing Ao supposed to fix that? Either way, Minamoto definitely plans on doing something, destroying the Seven Wonders, maybe.

Okay so even though the spirits are not here anymore they can still bring them back from the other world, fortunately, because otherwise it would be the end game for them

No.6 wanted the severance to happen so the supernaturals would stop invading the world of the living, and Hanako, in a way, allowed it to happen so Yashiro would live.

Steam sweet potatoes!

We're now on a mission to rescue Aoi, and maybe for Nene to see Hanako-kun again. However, the news Minamoto said put Akane on high alert, haha!

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

So there is no clamor about Aoi Akane dissappearing in the real world?

I gotta say I really wish for those short epsiodes between seasons and any other filler episodes took place outside the school. Cause I swear this episode is one of the few were they are not in school/a supernatural area and it was actually quite nice just seeing them all be normal for once.

But putting that aside this was a good episode, I think out of Akane, Nene and Kou I'd say Akane and Nene would have a much harder time adjusting to a normal life since I mean most of Nene's life revolved around Hanako that and I mean she is part of the reason Aoi's dead so I imagine she feels guilty and Akane honestly only really liked Aoi so idk what else he has now.

Im also quite curious whether Teru actually like Aoi or if that was really a joke. I hope it was a joke cause I just wanna see Aoi and Akane have a normal happy relationship. They really became two very compelling characters. I also feel like any feelings Nene used to have for Teru are just completely gone since she did not care when he said that.

Other than that my only real hope is we see Sumire again, she had a great dynamic with Nene.

@Laplace_kun There was a quick blink-and-you-miss-it scene where Nene tried talking to her classmates about Aoi and no one knew who she was talking about. Everyone besides Nene, Akane, Teru and Kou have forgotten that she existed.

Ok so it is as I have feared. Thanks

Joke or not, he is allowed to have feelings for Aoi, but not act on it. He sees Aoi as a friend, and at the least, respects Akane. He wants them to be happy and understands they are happy with each other. That's maturity I'd say.

@ponr Yeah I understand that view fully he sees she's happy with him and don't want to interfere with them assuming hypothetically he wasn't joking when he said that.

Lol, not even half a season has passed and Hanako strikes again with his questionable methods to save Nene.
Wonder what Teru's real motives are, btw.

We start to enter a very dramatic arc. What will happen to Hanako and Aoi ?
