Best part of this show on full display today and that’s the characters and the emerging familial relationship between Klen, Luna, Nelluru and Alicia. Their interactions feel so natural and you can see Alicia starting to think of this not as a hostage/servitude situation anymore, but one of genuine camaraderie. For as powerful as he is, Klen has come to view Alicia very favourably and appreciates all the considerate things Nelluru does. This is really what this story is all about as Clevatess learns all the good humanity is capable of.

On the flip side, Drel and his army of wizards represent everything that’s wrong with humanity. Alicia’s flashback is a nice encapsulation of that because 1: Alicia’s father was retired and living peacefully in the country side. Drel had zero reason to attack him other than his greed and desire to claim being the strongest. Also implied they were literally friends so he betrayed his own buddy. 2: why tf did Drel destroy the house after he killed Alicia’s dad. There was zero reason for that lmao

I like how Klen is learning to be a smartass and constantly takes shots at Alicia as well. “I know the only feminine part of you is your body, but you still can’t have a baby with Nelluru” had me crying man. Really like how he basically encouraged Alicia to continue being a hero as well and to keep making the world bigger for people.

Of course the moment Clevatess goes to confront Drel, Alicia, Nelluru and Luna get attacked in the village. As someone who HATES bugs, this Insect wizard mini-arc is going to be a nightmare lmao. Holy shit seeing the one dude get swarmed by giant flies and picked up in the air is nightmare fuel. Please don’t make this last too long 😭 at least the new girl Naie is cute..

I really like this series, but what the hell is this wonky power scaling?
You have Drel the walking catastrophe and bug boy is a one man army with his swarm of giant bugs. Yet when it came to facing Clevatess all they could muster was a bunch of half-assed "heroes" that didn't even scratch him.

@pixelante I'm not normally one for powerscaling, but I agree here. It's kind of jarring. That bug dude is OP as hell, wtf? He's basically got the capabilities of a 21st century soldier with UAVs whereas everyone else is using medieval weapons.
Honestly, I think the amazing worldbuilding actually works against this immersion - the fact that episode 1 spoiled us with such a unique setup made us more invested in the logic of the world, because it felt like they were going for a world with lots of verisimilitude. Our expectations have been exceeded - this would not have happened in a generic fantasy setup, where a literal medieval knight and a world ending mage with powers far surpassing that of this bug dude we had in today's episode can coexist and no one would blink an eye.

Damn! We saw Alicia almost execute a special attack against Gart last episode so I wonder if she'll have some type of hail mary attack up her sleeve to clear her and co. of this situation or maybe she's got a whole arsenal of hero abilities we do not know of yet. And Nelluru has super human strength now cause of Clevetess' dark ichor but she's also been breast feeding Luna👀 Will the dark ichor make its way into Luna through Nelluru's milk?

Even with a number of holes in the writing for past episodes it def cleaned up this episode as this was a good one with well-written dialogue for Klen. Good foundation has been layed down for the next!
