@eksratu Why are you blaming Jinshi?? Did you not watch this episode or something?? He tried TWICE to tell her and SHE refused to listen. Come on
| @Dukino I'm not really blaming the character, but I think the way a lot of the scenes in this episode were written stretch my believability in a way I didn't really enjoy. More specifically, it seemed like Jinshi had a lot of chances to insist on an honest conversation with Maomao that he didn't make use of. Given that he seems to place a LOT of importance on telling Maomao the truth, I would expect him to push back a lot harder when Maomao stops listening and make more attempts at conversation when they're both standing around. @perseii Just saw your take on this episode above my last post, and I think you put it into words better than I could. The "kind of 'he can't tell her just because' writing" made me disappointed too, particularly since this show has been so, well, devoid of such devices so far. Or at least I feel like it's been that way. |

| This was almost a perfect two-parter. Alas, it demonstrates a part of writing prevalent in anime I'm not particularly fond of. Comedy is so often used to hand waive away real moments, like the characters transport to a realm of different logic the moment the tone becomes comedic. It would've been more impactful if, rather than sperging out, Jinshi entered the room and told Maomao the truth and (this being the emotional bit) why she should know. Inevitably the truth will come to Maomao. All the ending did was delay the inevitable. |

| it's hilarious and all, but i just want to be honest to god, am i supposed to root for maomao and jinshi at all? she hasn't shown any interest to him at all beyond what you'd call a concern for a friend, if this is any normal romance at all, jinshi would look like a second male lead (with those forced advance and the lack of interest from her overall). this is beyond dumb at all because if it's gotten to THIS part and she still is uncomfortable af, how am i supposed to believe this is gonna work? it's obvious as hell jinshi is so into her, but the other way? i know this show really likes to paint maomao as a so not like other girls who fawn over jinshi but come on this is too over the top. i know from the spoiler that |

| I'm more than fine with Maomao being aroace/demisexual, but I'm not fine with author portraying Jinshi as a creep who's one-sidedly in love with her. like why. it's uncomfortable to watch and I feel bad for the both of them |

I can't believe I just watched an anime episode revolving around someone's balls, that isn't Dandadan.
| @Luminova_ perfect comment! Also, the whole arc was about ball jokes from Maomao. I like the episode and it's a solid conclusion with a 'big' reveal, but we already knew, there were so many hints about Jinshi. I hope Jinshi and Maomao start developing a relationship (even a slow one) from this episode. |
