| Mangaka Kou Nikaidou's slice of life series, is quite the chill-pill. Mamiko Suzuki's OP is simple, but does the job well. The life of a raccoon/tanuki critter, and the woman of Fuji (God bless Saori Hayami being her VA) encountering it as an unwanted "dog" to take it home, her naturally calling her family to ask of how to take care of such a "dog" that does things efficiently, it's certainly weird at best and it knowing how to read Fuji's words to be polite as a response back. With no idea however, Fuji takes her chances to feed it dog food, so whatever it eats, she's fine. However, the tanuki dreading to go to the vet, and the veterinarian doctor being alarmed to see it instead playing as a dog, and he did suffer quite a bit with the injection lol. However, he won't be coming back in a while. The tanuki running off to a park and then being met by someone who thinks he's otherwise than a dog, the charms of the tanuki may not be enough to sell it being a dog, but Fuji's beauty sure will. The tanuki, on a casual note, asking about Fuji's profession as a novelist, and even giving it a nice bath, it's tiring work, but her getting it done, and resting just like her owner is kind of cute. But in the dark, the tanuki being scared, Fuji allowing herself to be with it bathing while the rain batters outside, is certainly quite the charm. Kei Sugawara's ED is slow, but all the cool vibes are great. What a busy and cold, but warm night to finish off with this show, it's comfort to the soul. |

Another summer series with Saori Hayami voicing the heroine. Loving this already. Aside from the hyper vet, it got relaxing slice of life vibes through and through with probably the most adorable tanuki in anime. Sorry, I meant dog. So yeah, perfect blend of iyashikei and mild comedy. |

| I'm already loving this anime so much. Just going to get straight to the point, I LOVE the vibes of this anime. The rain and calm atmosphere just works so well to make a relaxing, soothing and so rejuvenating. I love super comfy and calm shows so this is the perfect anime for me. Also, that "dog" is totally a dog, totally not a tanuki at all, no way. Besides that, super chill and a perfect way to just lay back and, well, chill. The ED fits this anime so well btw. 5/5 |

Welcome back dekineko. I can’t be the only one who feels like Fuji’s Reiko from Kowloon GR coded too, right? Definitely one of the prettiest protags this season! This was such a cute and chill vibe. The healing anime term gets thrown around a lot, but this really is one of them shows you can just sit down on the couch, turn your brain off and feel your day getting better because of. Fuji trying to convince everyone her raccoon is a dog had me dying, especially the silly ass Vet. I wonder what else he’ll be able to do, he’s learning how to write and communicate with her, will he be able to help out with chores around the house so she can focus on her novel(s)? Or maybe even helping her write them at some point lol. Being a novelist is a field that requires muses and things to help inspire you, getting a new roomate/pet/best friend could be that catalyst for Fuji. Looking forward to more! |

| Feel good, healing animes are my priority and this one definitely delivered. I'm going to watch this for sure. Fuji reminds me of a grown-up version of that girl in Rent a Girlfriend. 9/10 |

| The episode was very calm and extremely slow-paced—to the point that I set the video to 2x speed and didn’t even feel like it was sped up! I don’t know… isn’t it strange to have an animal communicate with you? If an animal tried to talk to me, I’d be scared, but it seems like no one in the show was even fazed by it... On a more serious note, I personally dislike animals—especially cats. In our Arab and Islamic culture, we don't keep dogs as pets, and they’re considered animals that shouldn’t be touched, so it’s very rare to even see a dog around here. My dislike of animals in general stems from the fact that, every month, I see anywhere from one to four people come into the clinic because they were bitten or scratched by a cat! Some of them even end up in the ICU due to severe infections they develop. Some of you might say, “Well, do your cats get their vaccines?” The truth is, most of these are street cats, and even when it’s a house cat, I still see plenty of owners come in with the same problem. That’s why I’ve developed a constant fear of animals—because of what I witness in the clinic. Hahaha I don’t know, but if I saw an animal trying to communicate with me, I’d ghost it—I definitely wouldn’t take it home! |
