This show just loves to push Kai to make all the hard decisions. Dude needs a break but that's not possible because he has a mission to complete.

Elsa deserves better though. It seems it's always the innocent characters that sidelined with injury.

They just had to make Otoha become crazy for not performing as well as Kai, and it’s sure to get worse in the future. Meanwhile, in the human capital, the important people acting like scum does not surprise me in the least, especially since we had Gandal coming from the same place.

I’m not entirely satisfied with how they used Otoha as a trigger for Kai to go to Macaque’s village. Earlier, he didn’t care about why they were attacking human villages or their plea, but later, after Otoha’s selfish and shameful demonstration, he suddenly started talking about bringing the fight between races to an end.

@XArceusX I think it was seeing the carnage in Lag village that reminded him that this could go on, & more people would die. Better to try to cut it off at the roots.
But wait! The Evil God is an axolotl?! LOL

Monkey surrender to Kai called him "God of Kanae", Monkey land Heju corrupted by evil god Diabo. Monkey beg for mercy from Kai. Valley God wants Kai to save Monkey tribe.
Kai ask himself "I'm supposed to save the world? The valley god's power is just that special and incredible, huh? Using that power to help the world is the arbitration god's -is my destiny?" Jose warns her brother "brother, desecrating corpses won't bring you any glory!" Kai tells Jose brother "How long are we supposed to keep killing each other? We can't keep doing this forever". Monkey keep there promise with Kai, agreed to take down Diabo. Looking forward to next week episode fight breakout Diabo.

Since they started remaking the original, I hope Elsa gets better faster than in the original, that would be the only positive change in the whole series.

Great episode, but the handle on Kai's new axe changed style and length at least twice, and even disappeared in a few of the scenes leading to their arrival at the macaques' land.

So the macques plan failed and in their desperation they petition the valley god to kill the evil god plaguing their lands.
Kai wasn't happy about it of course. There is a lot of bad blood between the macques and humans. But the alternative is for them to keep fighting until one side is wiped out and even if that was to be the macques there is still the orcs out there as well.
So Kai has set out to confront Diabo and we'll see how that goes next episode.

The animation is clunky but it's still doable.

We are finally getting some world building again, and from Macaques' perspective... finally!!!

A bit annoyed by MC's attitude towards the enemy though, but it's natural after so many deaths, and Lisa's condition.

Then, a new goal...

We need more than a single season... really hoping for a sequel after this.

P.S. Rimuru went evil...

P.S. #2 Orha became annoying again.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

so this is why they attacked, it's hard to say that I don't understand but...

it is good that he didn't said yes immediately because a lot of thinking was necessary...

"If we were attacking your lands to take it you'd defend yourselves and kill us as well"
There, enough to end the whole "you killed us too" from the monkeys

i think the way Kai handled Lilisa was wrong. he should have given her a huge hug and whispered in her ear he has a secret. later on, in private Kai could have told Lilisa and their mom some details (but not all of them) about how Elsa was poisoned, injured, and that he had allies outside the village taking care of Elsa. all four of them are from the same destroyed and abandoned Village near Princess Jose's land god's Village. so, the author should have used Kai's originating motivations about his family dying, their Village being abandoned, and his frustrations at being too tiny and weak to protect his people. Lag Village is NOT this quartet's homeland, just a place that took all those refugees in. sure, Lag Village is a big place with lots of humans, and they need protecting too. but Elsa, Lilisa, and their mom are Kai's only remaining 'family' from back then. nobody else from their Village has been 'on-screen' so far and that should have made these three ladies closer to a family for Kai than just some rando Lag Village folks.

i've got a sneaking suspicion that Prince Orha is going to be a BIG problem for Kai when he gets back to Lag Village. my hypothesis is... while Kai is 'soloing The Big Bad Main-Quest Line' Orha is going to (background storyline) go out with some people from Lag and hunt monkey-men... Kai's 'treaty' with the monkey-men will be threatened, possibly even broken entirely... Kai is going to have a rough time with the purpley corrupt god... get a huge power-up from defeating it... come back to Lag to find Orha got a tiny power-up from killing monkey-men... but some if not a large number of the monkey-men are going to be totally PO at Lag and STILL want to kill all the humans and take their land... because the corruption from the evil god won't immediately be cleansed with its death... so Kai will be forced to 'arbitration god' put the smackdown on EVERYBODY (except the lil dwarf people) around Lag Village including Orha... which will hmmm maybe lead to Kai killing Orha or defeating the Prince and hmm... two branches hmmm... if Kai kills Orha our lil hero will probably be banished from Lag Village and turn into some kind of wandering ronin of justice... or if Orha is REALLY beat down (but survives) Kai gets 'forcefully engaged' to Jose and she will become Lag Village's heir... from this branch maybe Orha wanders off all busted up and PO wanting revenge and becomes the NEXT corrupt god Kai has to defeat... deal with the devil and all that stuff.

in the midst of all that... frog bastard ?priest? (i forget!) Gandal's 'suspicious disappearance' will bring attention to the Lag Village region annnd... politics on a grander scale may commence?? leading Kai to 'arbitration god' the central human empire guys shown being all 'hoity toity! we the richy richies! tee hee! peasants are made to keep the monsters away!' in this episode...

orrr something entirely different could happen! :D

Torud coming to Kai to request him to purify the macaque land of Heju from the evil god of Diabo, given the damage extending from both sides, it's easy to see why Kai would not condede to such a request. But to the koror, they treat it as a royal pardon from the arbitration god, that they worship the same Great God Kanae despite the differential in name. It's quite the destiny that Kai learns is a tall order of a responsibility, though he needs to be at many places at once to take care of both Elsa and Lag Village.

The truth obfuscated to the normal village folk as much as possible, Kai has his reservations, but no thanks to Olba who wants to hog the glory all for himself, Kai goes out once again to investigate the macaques on his own, or rather, investigate Diabo instead, giving in to their request. That said, it's kind of funny how Kai is entrusted with a spear and Jose's sword, plus Adhora-khan's axe of all things, as he seeks out the evil god together with Porek, Torud and his right-hand men at Heju.

The monkeys, elves and human altogether for the final mission, that's of only plot relevance left for the finale.
