First and foremost, Hisui should’ve told the rest of the folks about who that principal guy was. Fighting him together then and there after it got reset would’ve actually resulted in something, but hey, a simple communication which can give an easy way out just doesn’t happen right? Btw, if her backstory tells us something is that she doesn’t like to communicate much, so yeah, can’t actually blame as well lol.

Still seeing that asshole talking bullshit in his suit and somehow resetting Hisui’s memories as well, even if it was a farce, was simply frustrating. Really though, this series has an entire army of characters who simply frustrate just by speaking. Anyway, I didn’t think those two from the police would actually add anything more to the story after that brief appearance a couple of episodes back, but yeah, if in the end D somehow managed to put that guy into the place, it’s thanks to those two as well. Still, it won’t kill them to go a bit slow, would it? Lol, I’m glad they stopped him but yeah, it’s just too fast and furious.

The old man detective has a good head on his shoulders, unlike his partner. He raised some interesting questions about Chidori and the knowledge of him being dead—just like Wakaba. What kind of connection is there between the two? And then there's that other guy with "detective intuition," who has the worst intuition imaginable. He suddenly mentions he’s been reading BL and then randomly kisses Gatou—lol.

Hisui has a tragic past: she lost her parents, then later her friend, and eventually became a Dragon Keeper at the youngest age. But tragedy struck again when she lost the Green Keeper members. Hisui, with her memory loss, is such a good girl—nothing like the tough self she had created.

Someone please kill the Red Keeper already. A preschool teacher died while protecting the kids, and this mofo was busy giving a speech about protecting everyone. He wasn’t angry because she died—but because the news exposed their faults? This asshole deserves the most painful and gruesome death the show can deliver.

This episode raised many questions: Who really is Chidori? Will Hisui remember seeing Sentouin D in his actual form instead of Hibiki’s? Whose skin is Magatai wearing? And most of all—when will the Red Keeper die and finally satisfy me?

Best episode of the arc so far. Nothing Hisui does will ever be wrong in my books after everything she’s been through. They did a great job of showing how she went from being a normal little girl to someone hell bent in vengeance and killing monster invaders.

When you think about the fact Hisui’s lost her biological family, adopted family and now her Ranger family, you can understand why the thought of losing Sakurama/D weighed so heavily on her. Even though it wasn’t her fault at all, all these people close to her have disappeared/died/drifted apart and after a while you start beating yourself up about that.

Hate that she and her childhood friend/adopted sister couldn’t stick together, but Hisui’s totally valid hate and PTSD would make it very difficult for the average person to be around her. Soujirou showed her what she could be doing with the rangers and there was just no turning back at that point. I mentioned it earlier in the season, but this also explains why she wears a school uniform over her Ranger uniform because she never got to be a normal kid and go to high school.

The flashback of Wakaba turning on the green battalion there had me sick to my stomach, Hisui having a breakdown would’ve been totally valid but cmon now, you know our girl’s too strong for that. Very well played to get Wakaba to lower his guard and D/Gatou coming in very clutch at the end. Only issue with this chapter is the young detective being a straight dumbass like why are you doubting a literal ranger about the illusion school ??

Wasn't expecting detective dude to storm in as the dark horse MVP of the arc but I feel for Gatou. Imagine starting the final time loop with your innocence robbed from you.

Moe Hisui was fun while it lasted but you can't substitute nibbles for chomps.

Peak Sentai Daishikkaku is back...

D taking form Tokiwa at the right was so good..

Hisui backstory was really tough (which is a common theme in this series). But I am relieved even after best of efforts from Wakaba she didn't succumb. Cute version can never be as good as her orginal one.
Damn traitor he was. D & Hisui teaming up to finish him was damn cool.

I am worried about his identity though now that Gotou has seen or his memory gets reset too. Great idea in impersonating old man. But suddenly appearing should be suspicious to Chidori atleast.

And Yaoi saved the day..
Also Red let that teacher and her students die.............

That cop is seriously useless—though his kiss was actually what saved the day in the end.

Hisui had a rough childhood, losing everyone close to her and blaming herself for it. At least she was able to avenge Tokiwa. She and Tokiwa made a great team giving Wakaba the punishment he deserved—though it turns out he wasn’t even Magatia.

Seriously, I hate Red Keeper.

It's interesting to think about this perspective: "Why are we fighting? For the invaders? I don't want to do it anymore. It's better if everything goes to shit, I don't care anymore."
There's always that "indestructible human spirit" thing, but obviously not everyone would be the same and wouldn't have the same strength to fight to the end.

Cool, we get to see Hisui's backstory and how she came to join the Ranger force at such a young age. Understandably, it was a traumatic event and with those scars she almost got defeated again. Fortunately D disguised himself as the comissioner in order to fight Margatia for his own interests. Gotta give props to the anime fan as well that got them out of a pickle thanks to BL.

Btw, where's Usukubo?

Thank god someone else noticed this and commented on it, watching the whole episode I kept feeling like many things were off, and it kept getting clearer with how many scenes were poorly animated or even drawn and the pacing felt very unlike the rest of the season, even the dialogues between characters and much more seemed way off this episode, I just hope this was a one-off and it doesn’t go downhill from here.

@BloodyRaccoon I think he kind of wants to kill everyone.
He's not strong enough to do it (yet), but he's infiltrated the Rangers to destroy them from the inside, while using their resources to wipe out the boss monsters.

@BloodyRaccoon He wants revenge not just against the keepers, but also against the boss monsters, for bossing around the fighters and abandoning them in the fortress. I'm an anime only, but I think the point of this story is to be a humanizing story for D. He doesn't want the boss monsters to rule over humanity. To be fair, S1 was hard to follow a lot of the time.

And in the previous ep there was a moment that implied that he wants to save Angel.

@Zamerr_ It's definitely rushed, wouldn't be surprised to hear if this ep adapted more than 2 chapters of manga, like a few of the most confusing episodes in S1. And I also noticed the animation time/budget running out like in S1. Though there are so many things going on in this episode, hopefully if the following eps return to a slower pace, they'll be able to give some more quality to each cut.

I heard this was an absolute flop in Japan so I guess we're lucky to have gotten 2 cours at all.

Basically he wants to kill all the boss monsters and dragon keepers.

Remember in one of the episodes in S1 he dreamt that boss monsters took over and he couldnt even have dinner with his friends cuz he killed them.

Okay, so Kanon went through something similar to Seresa, and that trauma somehow made her stronger to the point where she's able to beat the crap out of a middle-aged man while still being the size of a grade school girl? That aside, I loved her innocent, cutesy schoolgirl version—it was pretty hilarious.

Kanon aside, I love that Kyousuke turned out to be an actual human who was the real green squadron member four years ago—it was a nice twist. But now that he's a principal, isn't putting your arm around a female student supposed to be a violation of school rules? Or is it okay when it's done by staff? Also, I loved the fact that he shares the same motivation as D, which is eradicating both the ranger force and the boss monsters.

Kyousuke aside, I don't really know why the detectives are so into Chidori, but the younger detective being a weeb and kissing Mine to reset the loop was pretty hilarious. I loved Mine's reaction to it as well, especially since it was his first kiss and all—haha.

Mine aside, I was pretty surprised when D noticed that Kanon was unconscious and seized the chance to mess with Kyousuke's feelings a bit, changing his appearance from Hibiki to Kanade, and then from Kanade back to Hibiki, all without Kanon noticing a thing—haha.

D aside, is it okay for Mine to just betray Kyousuke like that because he went a little crazy and was about to hurt the students? Like, I know that by our human standards, it's completely not okay, but what I mean is, is Magatia going to let that slide? Since both Kyousuke and Mine were originally Magatia's pawns? I’m not sure about that. In any case, can't wait 4 the upcoming episode to see how the Kyousuke vs. Hibiki, Kanon, and Mine situation's concluding!

Wakaba really had flipped- in more than one sense and not only that, he stabbed his squad leader in the back as well. There is only one fitting punishment for traitors and Hisui delivered the sentence, he wasn't even worthy of dying on screen, the filthy turncoat.

I really liked how D got back inside, he can't fight all that well, but he is smarter than the average mook :D He also called out Hisui for her meek act, and he is right, she probably would have been a high school delinquent if she hadn't joined the Rangers at such a young age.

Next week they will confront Magatia. Will Gatou help them now he has had a change of heart? Does he even know Magatia's human disguise?

Hisui's backstory is rough. But I suppose that's the backstory of almost every new ranger. Of course the kid who lost their parents to monsters who have zero regard for human lives would grow up to resent them and immediately join the biggest force opposing them. That's the most obvious thing in the world. What's weird is that old guy who supposedly defended monsters? What. I guess those types of idiots exist everywhere. Good thing he got a beating. But man, Hisui had a sad childhood. Glad she snapped out of it. Hisui is becoming my favorite character of the show. Weird how MAL still lists her as a supporting character while Yumeko is still "main" while she barely has any screentime. Yumeko better return.

Fighter D sneaking in as the older detective was genius. I couldn't even tell it was him before he got punched.

Wait, I really thought Wakaba was just lying to Hisui at the time. He actually did betray his comrades just to be in this fake world?! Bruh. If you want to escape reality then quietly do it on your own. Why tf would you drag down other people with you? And yeah, Red Keeper is a dickhead as always.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this anime is confusing. The pacing is probably a huge reason why it feels like that. Tho I don't think this episode was nearly as bad as some Season 1 episodes. But it does seem like the animation quality is slowly declining. I really hope the next episodes will look better.

After watching all episodes in a row I can tell how I'm disappointed with this season. Not only the story and the current arc are very boring but the budget for the animation is so low. I was very excited for season 1 because I've read the manga until the point the adaptation covered and it's honestly pretty good.

This season on I'm an anime only and I'm feeling so disinterested.

Out of all the allies Fighter D would recruit when going back into the timeloop, the anime trope savvy detective was not who I was expecting. His yaoi inspired kiss was certainly one way to break free from Gatou's hold.

Hisui's had it rough since she was young. Her fierce will and desire to avenge her loved ones could not be extinguished by Wakaba's scheme!

This episode was great. It's always a treat when Fighter D has to change things up and impersonate someone else. He did that twice this time around.

great episode.

I was sorta surprised by Hisui's backstory. It could have gotten really saccharine and tacky but no, she's just got that freak and is a total monster hating hero complex'ing zealot. A real creative choice.

i love when anime characters are all like "i watch so many anime and this is just like that one anime I saw" and its not a niche otaku culture show. Thats always a funny line to me

I loved how D used his shapeshifting to be a sneaky snake and outsmart the magatia

I love how the cops all look like chainsaw man devil hunters.

I love the pacing this episode just moves.

the animation is a little cheap but its just fun and well written and dumb and smart enough to not let the limits on animation constrain whats a damn good show.

With Fighter D a.k.a Hibiki being the only one able to escape Magatia's illusionary school maze, the only problem is how people like Hisui will react to it, especially being in the care of the Rangers with Ishikawa. Yet, it's impeccable to think that Hisui would enter the Dragon Keeper's Green Squadron force at such a young age given her powers and her strong resentment against monsters, especially with such a boss like Magatia putting his time loop on an end as Wakaba Kyousuke, forcing people to his will.

Lucky for Fighter D, he came back in disguise as the old man inspector, and reaching Wakaba enough to torment him of his chances against Hisui, who's had her memories reset until Fighter D himself faces the boss monster, and that's with her memories intact. Even Gatou, who once worked for Wakaba, finds himself at a point where he couldn't ignore the safety of the school, and requests both Hibiki and Hisui to lay waste to Wakaba.

The school illustration case is rearing on its head now...
