Do you like to watch new episodes weekly or wait to binge watch a whole season?

Additionally, if you like to wait just so you can watch multiple episodes in one sitting, even if its not the whole season, please vote for "I like to wait!"

I'm just curious if I'm in the minority here, I prefer to wait

I need weekly episodes to keep sane. Sometimes it's also nice to discuss an episode etc.

I'm ok with the two, but I think I prefer weekly episodes. It gives me more time to enjoy each episode.

Nowadays that my attention span has grown much weaker, I appreciate weekly episodes more than binging-- used to be the other way around.

Weekly episodes (or 1 episode daily as well). I've been too busy as of late to bingewatch.

Weekly, definitely. I’ve watched probably 95% of the TV anime on my list weekly. That’s been my strong preference for more than 20 years.

I'm really lazy and tend to put off watching stuff, so I guess I wait by default lmao. By the time I get to a series, it's all done so why space it out?

I prefer watching things weekly because it lets me spend more time thinking about the show. If I binge something, it feels forgettable after a week. Even with the old shows I catch up on, I space out watching the episodes to only one or two a day, with a few days apart, so I have some time to process whatever I watched and get excited for the next episode.

Usually weekly episodes, especially because a lot of shows recap past story beats through character dialogue often, so it's almost as if they expect you to be watching weekly.
Weekly episodes also make the series feel more like a 'journey', if that makes sense, because you've spent so much time with the characters and story, watching a little bit at a time over the span of three months or even more.

I do also like watching an entire series in one go, though. Nana had me in a serious emotional chokehold and I watched it all in like, two days over a weekend lol. I can't imagine what it was like waiting weekly through all of that! Though I find it harder to binge watch these days; usually when watching older series, I only watch an episode or two a day, except in rare cases like Nana. It's also nice to be able to control the pacing that way.

It just depends; I think there's something nice about each, even if watching weekly wins out for me, most of the time.

I'm me! The choices I've made are mine!

It depends on the series. If it’s a complex storyline with a large cast of characters, I often find it better to binge or at least watch several episodes at once with maybe a short break between arcs.
I put Orb on hold at the end of Badeni/Oczy’s arc & plan to binge the remainder once the season ends.
But there are also shows I watch primarily as a way to relax or because I think they’re funny. I prefer watching those on a weekly basis because it’s a quick mood boost. But in some cases watching too many episodes at once can actually make them feel repetitive & less enjoyable.

I find myself binge-watching less and less these days... Whether it's anime or live-action. I'm even at the point of stopping 1-hour TV drama episodes mid-way, so that I can watch the rest later.

Binging feels like I'm just "consuming content" as fast as possible. It feels good at first gorging myself, but I usually end up feeling drained. When I finish a series that I like, I feel disappointment that it ended already. And afterwards it's difficult to remember what happened exactly; it's all a big blur.

I now try to watch several shows in parallel, savoring episode by episode, one per day. If I feel like watching more anime, I watch more shows.

If it's something that already finished airing and I'm in the middle of a mini-arc, I go through 3 or 4 episodes in one sitting, but no more.

I like binging anime, but I can't wait when it comes to airing shows so I watch them weekly...when I am into anime. Right now I am not so motivated to watch anime so I am waiting for current airing shows to finish before I continue.

if we are talking seasonals, i much rather watch weekly. Easier for me to fit them in my weekly schedule rather than having to binge. Plus sometimes even if the anime is bad it makes it even more bearable to watch 1 ep weekly. If i had to binge bad anime, my drop list would be even bigger.

Wait. If the anime turns to crap, then I've avoided wasting time on it or the sunk cost fallacy mentality of sticking with a bad anime. I approach storytelling holistically, so it has to be overall well written with a good ending for me to be interested.

If I don't already have access to the show, then I'll just wait for it to be done. That way I can just pay the subscription for a month, watch the show, and cancel the subscription. That's what I plan to do once Apothecary Diaries finishes.

Ever since I have started tracking my anime, its been way easier to follow weekly releases, no accidental skips or binges unless its an already released show that I have discovered.

I do watch Anime weekly.
I actually quit watching anime for 5-6 years across my college years due to university and all.
It was only recently I decided to reconnect with anime as a full time tech employee as I only watch shows once/twice a week per few episodes

depends on the type of show...for episodic anime (anime where each episode is a standalone story), im fine with watching it every week...but if its not...i prefer to binge because cliffhangers annoy the hell out of me lol. however...im an impatient bastard who cant wait 12 weeks for a show i really wanna watch to finish airing, so i watch weekly anyway

I watch seasonals weekly, one episode at a time, as soon as they get out.
On the other hand, I like to watch older, already aired series, with a much faster pace (several episodes daily).

It really depends on the anime for me, for example this season I want to wait for apothecary diaries season 2 to finish before I begin watching it because for me I would rather binge watch that anime instead of weekly episodes but an anime like Solo Leveling I need to watch weekly as I really enjoy the anime and cant wait for the whole season to finish.

I've watched anime weekly for 4 years or so [maybe even more], at first it was good 3 seasonals that interested me, too bad my taste grew so large I watched 20 seasonals at the same time and well... I stopped, right now I'm waiting for many things to end and I'm slowly catching up to other seasons I'm behind, but with no rush

so yeah, I prefer to wait

I've switched to weekly watching recently. I can't wait anymore and I also like having a reliable bunch of anime to watch every week-- I can be a bit indecisive when picking something from my list.

Binge all the way. It does mean that I'm always at least a season behind but I do enjoy having more than 1 episode of a series at a time.

Weekly for the most part. It's nice to process each episode for a bit before the next. When I binge, episodes tend to mesh together and I miss some details in each

I usually watch weekly, but these days it's only for these shows:

Shangri-La Frontier s2
Solo Leveling
Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku
Ishura s2
Sakamoto Days

Those I wait to binge:

The Apothecary Diaries s2
Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (last arc)

I prefer weekly episodes but if its a long show and its already out.. I can't complain about binge watching it. I hate having to rewatch a show a year or so later because the new season is coming out and I can't remember a damn thing that happened in the first. So in that particular regard, I prefer binge watching. But overall, I prefer the idea of weekly watching. Its more rewarding, exciting and you can talk to other people weekly and share thoughts, gain interesting insights and theories with out risking spoilers (99% of the time) At least on MAL, manga spoilers aren't allowed so.

i HIGHLY "prefer" binging

however, its far easier to watch a larger number of anime when you watch them weekly... the obvious issue with that though is your watching the TV version instead of the BD assuming theyre different

BUT the problem with waiting is sometimes you miss the hype train/when everyone is talking about the show... and while hype DOESN'T make me choose a show, i still like watching shows when theyre hype

Depending on the anime. If it's something I'm hyped to watch, then I would watch them weekly during their airing period. If it's any other shows that don't really interest me, I normally wait till all the episodes are aired.

my FOMO will not let me binge lol. most of the memes and discussions often happens when it releases, same with the staffs' comments and illustrations and production materials you don't normally see.

so I'm really stuck on watching it weekly unless its an already completed anime i wasn't aware of
