Time has only made Yusa even stronger than before. Hina's peculiar method of watching the prac match though was hillarious. Still it was fun watching Hina and Chi watch from opposite sides. The prac match though was done really well. Kudos for Taiki in getting faster every match. Not to mention his victory over Yusa. Quite the amusing dream Taiki had that night though.

Both Hina and Chinatsu came to watch Taiki play on opposite sides of the gymnasium.
Near the end Yusa was smiling instead of having his usual expression. He declares he's still unsatisfied after the match; he wants to play more with the badminton player Taiki was at the end and not the beginning.
Taiki pulled through and won! Hina turned her face when she returned to rehearsals whereas Chinatsu gave him the rehydration he needed.
By the way, the song Taiki and Chinatsu overheard (and Chinatsu proceeded to sing) is called Nagisa by Spitz.

haryu lost? Yusa will focus on Taiki as a rival more in the future perhaps.

Taiki's dream of winning nationals against Yusa followed by Chinatsu awarding him with a big pocari sweat bottle 😂

About time Taiki gets a notable win. Also with the way they were acting after the match, him and Chinatsu already feel like a couple.

Taiki best Yusa impressive didn't expected that. Lots of sports anime bs happened otherwise it was impossible. Still fair play.
Haryu losing is surprising and concerning.

18 EPISODES WIN, AND WE FINALLY SEE TAIKI WINNING.
I'm honestly surprise. I really thought they were making Taiki lose again, so that he could enter his depression phase, but I was suprised (although I would't mind the anime going in that direction, but I prefer this one, and I seriously needed a more positive episode today).

This episode was the most "sporty" episode of the anime so far, and I loved it. Although the animation wasn't that impressive, it was enjoyable. I wasn't expecting Yusa to be so cold and tense honestly, he seemed much more chill back in episode 8. It seems like he finally sees Taiki as a rival now.
I wonder why Hina didn't go congratulate Taiki at the end of the match. Was she intimidated by Chinatsu? Also, Chinatsu finally revealed to her friend that she's staying at Taiki's house, and took a while to take the hint that she's interested in him. Anyways, it was funny when she started talking about her younger brother and they just put an elephant sound xD

I found it quite funny how the creators were like "ok, we had enough winning today, so Haryu is losing to Yusa", and so that happened. It seems we can't get more than a win per episode.
At least, Taiki was finally able to see that he is indeed moving foward! Honestly, this was really relatable to me too!

Edit: Forgot to mention, but the anime gave us another wholesome moment between Taiki and Chinatsu. Can't wait for the next episode!

What an exciting episode! The match between Taiki and Yusa was really intense. I loved Taiki's thoughts when it looked like he was going to lose again, and it was heartening to see all his hard work finally paying off. This bout, even though it ended in a draw, was a testament to his progress. From brutally losing to Yusa, who didn't even remember him, to now drawing with him and being recognized by name, is a big step forward. I trust Taiki will continue to move forward. Haryuu's loss to Yusa was surprising, especially since Yusa had already played several matches, but he still managed to beat Haryuu with ease.

As for Hina, she clearly did not have the same faith in Taiki as Chinatsu. These small details will probably mean that Hina ends up losing, despite the big step she took by confessing her feelings to Taiki. On the other hand, Taiki is starting to see Hina more as a woman, even dreaming about her and Chinatsu 😏.

This!! I also noticed this detail, and it's probably a sign that Chinatsu is going to be the one that ends up winning Taiki (not that we needed more signs, but it's still interesting)

Wasn’t expecting Taiki to win his first rematch against Yusa, they really had me thinking near the start that this wasn’t gonna be a pretty match, but damn the boy really pulled it off, it was pretty awesome to witness. And the action scenes looked really good too, you could really feel the impact of those smashes, you could tell how intense this was for both parties even if Yusa wasn’t emoting much, and along with that you had the inner monologues from both Taiki and Chinatsu that made it even better, kinda wild that Taiki can even think about the girls in his life during such an intense game but it was really fitting.

And the wildest part of all was Haryu apparently losing to Yusa offscreen, that is shocking, so does this mean Taiki not only surpassed Yusa, but Haryu as well? Not sure exactly but that is still huge, I feel sorry for Haryu tho lol. And the postgame moment with Chinatsu was extra sweet, her swinging was nice but I like how her VA made her sound not perfect, like it really sounded like an amateur hum of the song, I’m sure that took skill too since Japanese VAs can usually sing well. It was also nice to see Hina has absolutely gotten in Taiki’s head now, first with the kiss scene callback and then that goofy ahh dream near the end, I know this isn’t really improving her chances much but I’m enjoying the love triangle shenanigans lol.

@rahez I think it's lyrics from Nagisa by Spitz, from what I could tell of the segment she sang

Yes, you are true. Thank you...

Now I am curious about the second song that the band was sung titled "Blues Drive" in Episode 19, who is the original singer? I seached with google but i can't still find it.

@rahez That one is more a puzzler, but if they're a cover band, that might make it easier. It sounds a bit like Blues Drive Monster by The Pillows, but that may be a coincidence

Holy hell, I hate that Hina
Let's be real, Taiki ALWAYS said he's into Chinatsu, but then she decides that she, NOT ONLY has to tell him, but also keep teasing him trying to take him away from liking Chinatsu. This disgraceful existence it's deeply messing with my boy's head. DISGRACEFUL, I SAY. DISGRACEFUL. DAMN YOU, YOU HAIR-PINKED TERRIBLE LOSER.

I was surprised to see Taiki come back and beat Yusa and also to hear that Haryu lost against him. While I know that doesn't mean that Taiki is better than Haryu I'm sure Haryu is bothered by losing to the guy that Taiki beat.

Regarding Chinatsu and Hina, I was a bit surprised to see Hina walk away after Taiki won, like she didn't want to face him but at least Chinatsu did.

Very very proud of Taiki for that match against Yusa. His intense hard work finally paid off. He worked so hard for this. And, he won against him. Chinatsu congratulated him as well and Yusa will finally remember his name for the next match. Although, Haryuu Senpai lost to Yusa, so that goes to show how much Taiki has improved and how strong of an opponent Yusa is.

Looks like Pocari Sweat probably sponsored this one which is cool.

This was an OK episode. The focus on the match wasn't obnoxious, with some nice developments on the sidelines, notably with Chinatsu's friend finally learning the truth about her situation. I felt vindicated in the fact that she immediately raised the same concerns I had when learn of this arrangement at the beginning of the show.

The practice match between Eimei Private and Sajikawa is just as menacing, and no one feels this more than Taiki going against Yusa once again for a revenge match. But as expected, Chinatsu's friend Nagisa realizing Taiki's voice during her call, she soon is able to click the events between the two, and everyone is looking on him to surpass his limits right here and now. And...that's not what the first game has going for Taiki, putting doubt into his thoughts with both Chinatsu and Hina invading his minds and distracting him from concentration. However, deep within, Chinatsu knows that Taiki is just like her, practicing everyday until he gets his snuff, and little by little, his rally against Yusa begins to pick up pace and earn points towards his eventual win.

For the moment, Taiki can finally say that he won, and Chinatsu cheering him after being given all her support, feels like he came the roundabout way to be on the same position as her during her basketball matches. And of course, while mentioning the kiss sure made Taiki embarrassed a bit, he finally has Yusa's acknowledgement, with the latter winning against Haryu.

What a wild dream for Taiki to be snatched by both Chinatsu and Taiki being given kisses...

Finally, a victory in this show! All of the characters’ efforts usually end in failure. Why isn’t there anyone who just consistently wins?

I liked that Hina stuck to her word and didn’t go congratulate Taiki. It’s like she knew Chinatsu would come and do it herself.

Also, Taiki’s dream was hilarious, turned into a nightmare when Hina kissed him! Even in dreams, Hina is always the one in pain.

Let’s go to episode 19!

Great that he finally won!
I felt sad for Haryu :(

Too bad Hina didn't talk with him, but I guess he really isnt' interested in her ;/ Even in that dream he didn't want to kiss her ;/
I didn't expect this to go like that.. I thought he will be dating Hina and then break up to be with Chinatsu ;o I guess drama won't be so big..

btw why is his grandpa eating from main dish if he had salad on his plate? ;ooo crazy

It's the practice matches, and both Hina and Chinatsu came to watch. Hina didn't want to show herself and didn't want to talk to Taiki. Chinatsu's friend (Nagisa?) found out they've been living together, and thought it was his voice on the phone. Throughout Taiki's match with Yusa, lots of thoughts were going on through his mind, and the more he played, the better he got. He actually beat Yusa. Chinatsu found him later, and they talked. She asked how they're going to do the kiss, and Taiki became immediately defensive, as he was thinking about Hina wanting to kiss him. He said they were just pretending. He got called away, at that moment. Haryu ended up losing to Yusa, so this is going to get interesting when the next matches happen. At home, Taiki fell asleep and dreamt of the day, though a bit exaggerated, and Chinatsu was going to give him a congratulatory kiss. Hina grabbed him and went in for a kiss. What a dream!

The love triangle just keeps getting more and more real. Hina's really moody, Chinatsu's being her usual supportive self, though she's continuing to come to terms with her feelings, and Taiki is still a mess. He won, but Hina's messed him up. I can't stop watching this. I'm going to be impatient once I'm done episode 25.

Chinatsu's friend's prejudice / jumping to conclusions was awful and i'm glad she was immediately put at her place. Nice to see a little more focus on the sport side of the series and Taiki pulling off a unexpected win (even if Yusa got one offscreen too later on). The singing part was sweet no matter how off key Chinatsu was, and the dream somehow still less weird than expected.
