| The battle was insane. Gourmet de Foie Gras is a creative technique. I love this type of weird and wacky humor. It’s weird cos Ranma nearly agreed to marry that bastard which feels out of character. Ranma does look great in wedding dress. I remember saying he'd never willingly wear it in an early filler episode. Guess I was wrong. The ending was strange. Why did Picolet go back to get the bill if he lost. I doubt Tendo has enough money to pay for it anyway. |
| Big mouth chameleon eating technique is more like throwing away food technique. Anything goes martial arts equal anything goes shit. Pretty sure this stupid technique will be forgotten after so these last two episodes are just straight-up terrible. Have to wonder if those two fathers have any technique at all. Not the kind of jokes that I normally enjoyed given I always like wacky shit in UY. None of the martial arts shenanigans ever really clicks with me at all. |

| That was definitely the strangest battle of the whole show, there’s probably weirder that’s happened that I’m just not remembering at the moment but this is definitely top 5 at least. And like most “ultimate techniques” in Ranma 1/2, this one was also silly once it was unveiled, but I gotta say it was pretty smart actually. How do you eat extremely quickly without the necessary big mouth and tongue? Simply don’t eat lol, make your opponent or those around you eat, of course Picolet had his counterattacks that kinda kept things interesting but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want this gross battle to end quickly lol, it had its fun moments tho. And the ultimate irony of the French villains in this arc, they consider it vulgar if you’re seen eating, but their methods of eating are far more vulgar lol, I’m sure that’s intentionally ironic tho. And although Ranma defeated Picolet who at first accepted his loss, he came crawling back at the very end for compensation on the bill from the beginning of the arc, can’t have things end nicely can we lol. Not a bad arc, just the grossness didn’t click that well with me in a comedic sense, definitely looking forward to swimsuit Akane next episode tho. |
