There's Mei's mother, Chika again. Technically, I think she is the most complex character in the show and we got somewhat of a characte study on her.

Feels like some recurring themes were explored but the emotions unfolded again. It's interesting they threw her in a batting cage for that.

Jesus, a confession was NOT on my bingo board, that's for sure. I was expecting it, but wow that came out of nowhere. Ya love to see it though.

Wonder what she'll say to his whole "story" thing...

Takae attending Mai and Renji's wedding would've been such a sweet (actual) final sendoff for her. It being set a whole year later is absolutely cruel.

How Keisuke reacts to Moriya's affection for him managing to stay strong even after she learns about the big possession mess will be interesting to see. He might not be ready to lose Takae again but she seemed to understand what it means to support a widower.

Can someone change this anime genre from Comedy+Romance to Drama+Supernatural? Also, I think this should be eligible for "Adult Cast" too, but your mileage may vary.

Keisuke is being incredibly thick-headed and selfish. He can't let go of his wife and instead drowns himself in work. Now, he has someone who could help him move on from Takae, yet he chooses to push her aside. What is wrong with him? He had Takae in his life for a while, and he has been fortunate enough to have a chance to see her again after her death. Still, he doesn't realize the damage his selfishness is causing Marika. She is struggling because she feels torn between giving Takae’s soul a chance to complete her unfinished business and her feelings.

At least Mai is making the most of her opportunity. She is fully embracing her life, having found someone who truly loves her, and is making plans to start a family. Mai is taking advantage of the chance to reconnect with Takae. I hope Keisuke realizes how wrong he is for not letting go of Takae. He needs to move on and allow Takae to leave her mortal coil for good, which won’t happen unless he does.

Keisuke has a second chance at happiness, and he just needs to accept Moriya and let Takae know he’s ready to move on. He must understand how fortunate he is to have this opportunity with someone who loves him as much as Takae does. I believe nothing would make her happier than to see her husband find joy again. Letting go of Takae doesn’t mean he has to stop loving her.

Keisuke better not screw this up.

He practically has an open lane to a new love that's welcoming him with open arms. However, his response can potentially weird her out and probably drive her away.

Oh yeah... BTW

Chika playing baseball was totally unexpected.

I never knew I'd see something so random.

What does he hope for? That she will refuse him, deciding that he has completely gone crazy because of longing for his dead wife?

I've been saying this for quite some time now, but the arbiters of labeling and the god of tags have tuned bland ear to our pleas.

Chika was way more relaxed than I would've been about finding out her daughter is being possessed. At most, I would've given her a few days to say her goodbye's & get out my kid before I brought in an exorcist

They showed how Takae died in the accident... Oh God... That was very sad. Seems like time was moving very fast for her after she passed away. Time moving at a fast pace while you're dead just seems like nightmare fuel to me. Imagine being bound to a location as a spirit but you can't do anything except watch as time marches on... At least until she met Marika on the same road and saved her from meeting the same fate as her. So, Takae now knows about the possession too huh? At least that eliminates the hardship that'd come from being told about it by your own family.

Chika took the news about the possession quite lightly. Keisuke's being upfront about it probably avoided some potential drama. And Takae feeling very guilty probably helped too. Though I imagine she'd probably change her mind about it eventually. I'm glad Keisuke at least realizes that he's being selfish by keeping Takae bound to this world. I wonder how he will move on...

Mai got engaged and she's learning how to cook from her mom. If Takae hadn't died, she probably would've already learned how to cook. But she's lucky that her mom's ghost taught her that after possessing a little girl. I wonder how she'd take the possession news. She seemed to be the most sensitive about this stuff based on past episodes.

Did not expect Moriya to confess to Keisuke in this episode wow. That's some bravery right there. But that damn Keisuke has to spill the beans... Imagine a girl finally manages to confess to you after gathering a lot of courage but then you tell her a weird story about your dead wife coming back to life. If this was real life, they'd probably be creeped out and stay away from you forever. But since this is anime, I don't expect that to happen lol.

I noticed that while Takae seems to like spending time with her daughter I think she's also now feeling guilty about possessing Marika's body. On a related note, Keisuke is spending his time working late and even on the weekends, presumably because he doesn't to confront his wife as he's having a hard time letting go since he found out through Chika that Takae doesn't like possessing Marika's body.

I'm not sure how Moriya will react to Keisuke's story but I don't think he's ready to start a relationship with her, maybe she will give him time if she doesn't get weirded out first.

I think after this episode, there is no way to predict how this is gonna end. It diverged from the manga source a lot...and I like it!

Don't screw it up! This is your second chance at life, Takae will tell you the same thing, go for the living girl at work, not a Spirit using a little girl. That is just too sad.

@Janethan23 the god of tags on this site are full of bs, there was another anime that apparently had comedy in the other year and I couldn't even finish the first episode because it wasn't even a proper comedy, had loads of gore and war politics the only funny thing was the guy's personal thoughts in his head but that's about it, nothing of that show was credible to me at all and was a waste of time for me

I did see that the tags were taken from the original manga source but if what we're seeing here in the anime is the same as what was in the manga, god of tags really needs to be reeducated on the differences in genres
it's because of their dumb tagging ways that end up fluctuating show rankings and divide certain people because if I was a person who purely did not want to watch any form of drama at all, I would've dropped this ages ago but luckily for me some drama is okay and I'm at least bearing through this one because the plot is decent, tho still feel betrayed this isn't a full on comedy and topics can get heavy in this

edit: yeh checking in now, even the live-action has its genre listed as a drama and several other random sites have it down as a drama too so whoever thought this was a romcom on the MAL team, they have a few screws loose but I mean this is MAL too sooooooo

I thought early on Moriya would propose but didn't and seemed to really support Keisuke just from behind the scenes and looked up to him a lot as a person
but along the way would realize the feelings she has is actually love so is proposing now this late in the game which I wasn't expecting ngl

interesting to see how she'll react to everything, realizing Marika isn't a distant relative but was actually his wife possessing Marika

Whew this was a roller coaster. We are definitely going into the heartbreak part of the story and I’m not ready for how hurt I’ll be at the end of this.

So Takae latched onto Marika when saving her from an accident omg, so that explains the possession angle. I think that’s way cooler than the usual reincarnation and makes for a way more emotional story when Takae inevitably has to let go

Chika and Keisuke night out was sweet, I didn’t take Chika for being a batting cage person but I guess that would’ve been one of the few places she could take her anger out safely when she was younger. It’s good they cleared the air and there’s no more secrets or misunderstandings. It’s getting to the point where everyone knows what needs to happen, but no one wants it to happen

Mai getting married aww, bittersweet as hell because I don’t think Takae will make it. That’s next year and too much of Marika’s life to be taking up. I think Takae knows that too which is why she gave that look when Mai said next April :/

Moriya confession?!? Did not see that coming. The look on her face when Keisuke started speaking about Takae in the present sense tho lmao. This is good ultimately though because now everyone will be in on the secret except renji and Marika friends.

Damn, a whole lot of stuff just went down

Keisuke is finally (in theory) realising the cost of Takae's return to his life, and is hopefully preparing himself for that to end (is he planning some financial assistance for Chika and Marika?)

Mai is getting married. Great for her, but damn the next-year date reveal was brutal for Takae.

Moriya's confession came out strong, we'll see how she handles the story.

We have a confession from Moriya. a win episode and he'll tell her about Marika's condition.

It's only natural to expect that Moriya and Takae will have a heart-to-heart conversation, Moriya would feel a bit guilty, but Takae will support her.

Finally the egotist Nijima is coming to accept that his wife is an evil spirit that couldn't leave the world because he is so pathetic and untrustworthy. It only took him 9 episodes, he would make a good soccer player over at Blue Lock seeing how big of an egotist this dude is where he never considered Marika's true feelings, it was only about him.

This part really got me thinking about all the people who pass away suddenly, leaving behind unresolved matters. With Takae, they depicted how, for her, those 10 long years since she passed felt like just an instant due to her lack of a physical form. As one of the so-called wandering souls, I can’t even imagine the agony of being a silent observer, unable to be seen, heard, or felt. At least she managed to save Marika before the car could hit her.

Mai is moving forward with her life and will soon get married, but it’s heartbreaking to think that Takae might not be present at her wedding. Deep down, though, I feel like Mai has already come to terms with the fact that her mother will leave again at some point.

Keisuke finally admitted that clinging to Takae’s memory had caused him harm, and now that he’s been able to speak to her through Marika, it’s even harder for him to let her go. But he knows that holding on is selfish, especially for Chika and Marika’s sake. What really gets me is that Keisuke isn’t just going to lose his wife again; with Mai leaving the nest soon, he’ll be left all alone. And he doesn’t even know about the wedding yet.

As for Moriya’s confession, it might offer Keisuke a chance to find companionship again, but honestly, I doubt it’ll go beyond friendship. Still, it’s nice to think he might not end up entirely alone.

This show has become really hard for me to watch but that is because I care for these characters so much and the story is both lovely and heart wrenching. I have been leaving it for a late night watch before bed as it leaves me drained but feeling good.

I would agree that this deserves the drama tag more than a comedy tag but I think romance is absolutely appropriate. We have the past and current relationship with Takae and Keisuke, the relationship with Mai and her BF and hopefully the relationship will blossom between Keisuke and Moryia. This shows a much deeper kind of love and romance than most shows which focus on the beginning stages of love and romance.

Regarding Moriya and being told about the situation:
I personally think she will accept this story because she has been watching him very closely and it will make all the pieces come together for why he has been behaving the way he has.
I don't know that they will end up together but I think the odds are good.

I thought it was very interesting that Marika would likely have died if not for Takae saving her from being run over. It certainly adds another layer to the whole possesopm thing and I wonder if Chika will ever find out about it. I really feel bad for Marika and how she is basically getting left behind and losing a lot of time. the upside to this is that she has come back to a mother and a home that she will want to come back to so that is a good trade.

Love Love this show. Hoping for a happy ending.
