This episode left me speechless. I already enjoyed watching the anime, but the storytelling and animation in this episode were incredible. This episode easily deserves more than 5 stars.

Every episode so far was great, but this one steps it up to become a masterpiece. The writing, directing, sound design and cinematography - all 10/10. An absolute masterclass in how to make an anime episode both beautiful and impactful.

The last half was pretty intense. I don't usually get emotionally invested in Anime but -that- was well done.

Probably the best episode so far.
I love the subversion of the conflict.

I just... wow. What the hell?

I've been enjoying this anime a ton already, but I'm gonna be honest, I genuinely wasn't expecting it to be able to deliver an episode/arc of this calibre. I cried like a goddamn bitch.

Knowing now that this series can pull off genuinely heart-wrenching scenes has me REALLY excited for this show going forward. My expectations have gone from an 8 to a full 10 lol

This has got to be one of my favorite anime episodes for this year even of all time, straight up absolute fckin CINEMA. I don't have good words to describe in a nutshell how good this episode was.

I was surprised by the opening of this episode, I wondered what this POV scene meant hmmm, the first 5 minutes during the battle of Okarun and Momo vs Acro Silky were terrible and cool, I really liked the various parallels that would appear in the next few minutes, there were so many interesting details in the early minutes I really liked this episode. until in the end it turned out that Aira died!? wth.

Acro Silky knows a more effective way to save Aira's life, namely by giving Acro Silky's Aura to Aira and even Acro Silky tore her mouth to show that she was not playing games, I felt sad from here on. One scene that I think is insane is definitely about Okarun's super smooth transformation.

10 minutes in, it's time to start talking about the flashback that the director is very good at. Acro Silky turns out to be a single mother who has the only child she loves, from the moment the scene at the front door of the house shows that Acro Silky's life is very tired but there is one thing that really makes her happy, namely her child, for the happiness of a mother, namely her child, she will definitely do anything to be able to make a child happy even if she has to be forced to do prostitution but also turns out to work various multiple jobs. Even had time to save some money to buy clothes for her child, and teach the talents that a mother has for her child so that she has talents like her mother. Until the end...

The yakuza (maybe?) or debt collectors came to collect Acro Silky's debt, I will not forgive what the debt collectors have done to Acro Silky, although I understand that they also have the right to collect their debts but should not be able to kidnap her child, which is certain that her child will not be fine in the hands of these demons. The POV scene happened, Acro Silky with her body that was really not okay with glass everywhere, blind eyes still had the strength to save her happiness even though it was too late. I lost words during this sequence, it turned out that the first minute was Acro Silky's POV chasing her kidnapped child.

It's time to talk about the best sequence for anime episodes this year, the Ballerina sequence. I cried a lot in this sequence and at the same time I was amazed at how beautiful this sequence was, which turned out to be this moment where Acro Silky really died, namely when doing the things she liked while alive and ending her life on the floor, when I heard a sound like something falling to the ground I immediately stopped watching for a moment because it was too terrible to imagine.

Acro Silky is still looking for what she lost and finally meets Aira, where here Acro Silky hears a child calling her a "mother" and this is where Acro Silky and Aira's relationship begins and makes Acro Silky a Yokai whose aura is darkened and filled with emotions. Aira's flashback made me cry again, and from this scene I can already hear people apologizing for Aira lol.

Back in the present, Momo can also see Acro Silky's life journey, Turbo Granny said nothing can be done for a stranger to a Yokai who will disappear from any world and not rest in peace. Aira with her consciousness immediately went to make Acro Silky's heart calm and could go to a peaceful realm for her and her daughter. The scene where Acro Silky talks about how if her child wasn't born from her womb, she would have been happier, makes my heart hurt so much, I can't imagine a mother saying that. Aira immediately said "Mom, I love you. I am the happiest person in this universe" and ends with "I won't forget, I swear" I really cried like a baby lmaooo, it's been a long time since I cried like this. Hope they are taken to a kinder world.

This episode immediately made me want to hug my mom and help her with her work. This episode immediately made this anime my favorite anime for this season, with how amazing the directors were for this episode. The OST from KENSUKE USHIO never fails to make me burst into tears, one of the reasons I cried was Kensuke Ushio's piano, a true genius. Science Saru has never disappointed me with its animation, I am very happy that the DanDaDan manga was adapted by an amazing studio like Science Saru, really hope that some other amazing manga can get this beautiful adaptation again in the future. Once again this is one of my favorite episodes ever.

Call me a tourist all you want, but this has to be one of the most impactful and emotional episodes of any anime I’ve seen. Period.

The opening sequence, with its blurred yet crisp animation bordering on realism, was stunning. But once we get the context behind it—man, it hits hard.

I was getting a bit tired of Demon Slayer’s 'bad guy reveals tragic backstory in their final moments' trope, but seeing it executed here with Acro Silky’s backstory was something else. You simply can’t help but cry for her and understand why she was so fixated on Aira. When she ran to hug her, just to give that tiniest bit of closure, it was the final straw that opened the floodgates for me.

This is quite literally peak anime.

Heres comes the crybait.

The worst influence Kimetsu had on the manga industry was making authors believe cramping some hyper melodramatic backstory to a side villain from absolutely nowhere was good writing. Nevermind the worst thing is that they are absolutely right and people will eat that up completely without even considering it.
For sure I'm really buying this sudden surge of extreme violence with the murder of a poor woman and the kidnapping of her kid for a bit of money from 2 completely unnamed dudes with not even their faces shown. Did she fucked over the yakuzas? Did she had debt so insane someone threaten to take her child if she didn't paid? That's what I choose to believe because for all we know this is the most brutal and uncalled for payoff with a total absence of setup.
Obviously the emotion conveyed here is "look how unlucky she is, she didn't deserve any of this", but I don't think fictionnal characters as people, they are merely writing devices, and in this case putting such an amount of brutality just for the sake of making the audience cry without any justification is quite frankly, pretty cliche and cheap.
However what I will not deny is that beautiful directing and that magnificent piano track, didn't expect less from Kensuke Ushio, composer of Ping Pong's ost, one of the greatest soundtrack of all time, but still top notch.

My biggest concern for sure is this will be praised so highly that even people saying it's the best episode ever created wouldn't even be hyperbolic. Unfortunately for me, I have grown up of only having emotional response towards art and media and I can only conclude this was wildly incoherent tone shift for an action/romance shonen to switch from fighting wacky ghosts/aliens and finding the main dude's balls to the painful life of a single mom trying to raise her child while crippling in debt.
You could just write one shots if you want to do this kind of tragic silent short movies with overlaying music, insert them in a shonen which will switch to crude comedy next episode feels more of a petty attempt to catch an unsuspecting audience than anything else. But what do I now anyway, this episode will make the show go from 8.60 to 9.05 I guess lmao.

This episode was an emotional masterpiece. When I first read the manga, I wasn't nearly as sad in this arc as I was when I watched this episode. The animation was beautiful, and the time spent going over the struggles of a single mother trying to raise her daughter and keep her happy really amplifies the tragedy of what happened to them and the emotions that come with it. The mother's desperate struggle even after being wounded, trying to reach for her daughter who was taken from her is especially heartbreaking. I don't think I have ever been this emotional over an anime character in my entire life. This episode in my opinion outdid the manga chapter.
