| By “Stray away” I mean when you avoid anime/manga, either intentionally or unintentionally. It can be due to burnout, being busy in life, simply loosing interest, consuming other media etc. there can various reasons. I personally never really get burnout because i never watch such an overwhelming amount of anime at one time to make me feel that way. It’s either when I'm busy or consuming other stuff, specifically games as I hardly watch any live action media anymore. |

| Yeah jus being busy is a big thing. Also sometimes I just lose interest as other forms of media, or other hobbies are more fun at that time. Burnout was prolyl a big reason in the past cuz I forced myself to watch shows I didn't like, also the fact it was basically my only hobby so overconsumption was a prtial reason as well. Nowadays I don't struggle with that too much so its more relaxing to watch anime. |

| I've took a few breaks from anime and MAL over the years my longest being 10 months, but I had a lot going on in my personal life so I was dealing with that instead of watching anime. Although the break was great, as when I returned I had loads of new anime to watch. |

When you watch a lot of shows, you eventually realize it is okay to reduce Anime intake by a huge amount for various reasons or so? For Manga though, I do steer away from new stories that explore degrading plots. Like "just because you can draw it, does not mean you should." |

| Too busy in real life, the record was 1.5 years, too occupied with the job. And I never really touched the anime/manga again until 2024 hit and try making this myanimelist acc. it's such a cycle for me. |
