| Recently bought: Gachiakuta 01, 02, 08 & 09 (in their first print versions, which have the edge coloring). I wasn't having the volumes 01, 02 & 08 in their first print versions, so I had to get them for the collection. 09 just has been released in Germany, so all of them are in their first print version atm anyway. I'm going to buy: Yu Yu Hakusho 02 (German Bunkoban version) Marriage Toxin 05 Both volumes just have been released in Germany and I wasn't able to get them yet. |

| To give a bit of context to my recent purchase have a short story to tell... My daughter has been into 70s and 80s Japanese City Pop since she was in her early teens and has been going to school in Japan living with relatives since she started primary school. Where one of the Artists she frequently listens to is Chika Nakamura. Not like many people would know who this artist is unless they are seriously into Japanese 80s City Pop. But to give you some more context some might listen to this song below and oddly might find it sounds familiar... The reason why if this song above does sound familiar is because most Westerners probably recognize it sounds like an 80s song from an American Pop singer named "Tiffany"... The Irony is neither Chika Nakamura or Tiffany originally wrote or performed this song. Where it was originally written by Ritchie Cordell and performed by "Tommy James & The Shondells" back in the 1960s... To my surprise, a few days ago I found this for sale online when looking for a birthday gift for my Daughter...  It's the OST for the "Burn Up! W" OVA from 1996 that features a song called "FLASH YOUR DREAM!" used for the OP of the OVA which is performed by Chika Nakamura. A song my daughter has never heard before in her life. lol So I am hoping she will enjoy it. :) |

Finally Menou arrived. I ordered her in May and due to shipping costs chose to send by ship (faster shipping would have almost doubled the price, and usually I have to pay VAT over the price including shipping). However she got stuck in customs when she arrived in my country and only got released after the seller filed an inquiry. She's been in customs for two months. Good news however is that I didn't have to pay VAT. During the delay that somehow slipped through. Regarding the figure: they blue of her dress is accentuated with white, to create a more dynamic/shadowy effect, but I feel they overdid it, especially on her boobs. Initially I thought the figure was a bit bleached due to lightexposure, but I checked the promotion pictures and inhand pictures on myfigurecollection and they have it too. Further I think the base could have been a bit darker. Still a nice figure, but not great. |

Latest NENDOROID Doll Acquisitions... all upgraded with the YMY/YuMeng 11cm. Aftermarket Body~  Wallscrolls that i have amassed over the last 6/8 mos. or so~  When my Grandma's Husband's Son (from a previous marriage) gave me one of these in the late-80's, that he had fully assembled (and painted, badly) i recall that i had thought it to be some manner of Cool F-14-esque Transformer with strange Missiles. The last anime items I bought are a Yoshizawa Kasumi* (Persona 5 Royal) figure, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind manga omnibus boxset, and Shuna's Journey manga.    The second most recent before that would probably be the Flowers of Evil manga omnibus volumes and the hentai manga How Good Was I? Then there are a bunch of things which I didn't get too recently, but it's recent enough to warrant mention. There are some things I bought ages ago, but would like to share too. Lastly, here are some comics I feel are worth including. Yes, yes, I know this is supposed to be a thread on anime-related items, and these are certainly not anime-related at all. However, I'm going to do it anyway. The artists behind these are the duo of Gurihiru, and I love their artstyle! It's so cute! It doesn't hurt that both Superman Smashes the Klan and The Unbelievable Gwenpool are fantastic!   Additionally, I've ordered 13 new anime figures, so I just have to wait for them to come.
