| Tbh I didn't quite get about half of the episode, all that talking about relationships between people went completely over my head. At least finally in the end he jumped back in time and now the actual season can start I hope. |

@Mich666 The version I watched on Muse translated it as "Dear". I think instead of calling her daughter by name the mother used "onee-chan" as an alternative way to address her older child of the sibling. Similarly, a few second earlier Garfiel calling Rafiel "nee-chan" doesn't mean Garfiel called his own sister or he thought Rafiel is older than him. After all in Japanese the identification of the subject and the objects in a sentence depends heavily on the context.
| @newluminous Yeah, saying "Dear" would be probably the best in this situation. I also understand why Garfiel was calling her nee-chan as those honorifics are generally used to address strangers younger/older than you (generally if their name is unknown). Or he could call her nee-chan as person related to her younger brother he was bringing home. But the problem here is not with translation but rather with how her mother addressed her in the original japanese since: a) she's her mother so she would know her name and would address her directly by Rafiel or Rafiel-chan or Rafi-chan. b) Rafiel certainly isn't her sister as she is obviously her mother so calling her onee-chan is really weird. c) she didn't know Fred was back until she came out (which is why she was asking the question) so in that case she definitely wouldn't address Rafiel as "(Fred's) sister" (which would be gramatically correct otherwise as unspoken part could be implied from her question). Anyway, I might be nitpicking here but this seems like a mistake happened sometime during the production. Not sure how she addressed her in the novel. |

arc 5 is a dip in quality compared to the previous arcs

This is where It stands for me........I had a hard time Enjoying Arc 5, just after a Masterful arc 4......but I did enjoy it, it was just not the best.(Arc6>Arc4>Arc3>Arc8>Arc5>Arc7>Arc2>Arc1) |

| @Okeanix even tho I'm a web movel reader, I will always argue that Re:Zero anime is a PERFECT LIGHT NOVEL ADAPTATION (apart from 86), you can't ask for anymore. I was satisfied with what was being served. They did the BEST MOMENTS JUSTICE. Feel free to hate on yourself. Re:Zero. Arc 3 adaptation was still on point for me. Also, the story will exactly remain the same in arc 5. Not a big fan of fights, I like re:zero for it's narrative and introspection of the characters and their dynamics. Beautifully shown in arc 3. Arc 5 surely expands the story, but lacks the Depth that Arc 3,4 & 6 has. |

| I absolutely love the interactions/dialogues in rezero. The voice actors are just perfect as usual to make it even better. All the suspense for that incredible ending. It's about to start again for Subaru. |

| There's a reason why Tappei Nagatsuki is one of Isekai's revered authors, and White Fox at the helm going back to Season 1 levels of animation after 3 years is just so good. This is easily the craziest, unhinged 90 mins of the premiere episode I've seen from the usual Re:Zero length for 8 years now, and despite all of the information strewn all around the episode: - The Royal Candidates going into the Waterfall City of Priestella with everyone in tow - The reveal of Liliana the bard - The family melodrama of von Astraea - The hints of the Sin Archbishops of Greed passing by Emilia, and the reveal of Sirius Romanee-Conti the Wrath (which that last 10 mins was just classic Re:Zero death) If White Fox can maintain this for the next 6 months, Arc 5 and 6 may not surpass Season 1 for me, but it'll definitely be an improvement and a great return to form. |

| Being honest, the information surge during the whole of 90 mins was kinda too simple and too straight for this series. I mean it doesn't feel home until that happens which happened in the last 5 mins lol. You could literally feel something was coming when yeah, all of a sudden, people started enjoying themselves too fucking much lol. Already the first death xD Loved the first episode, and yeah, these last few years without re zero were really kinda stale for the whole of isekai genre. Glad this is back and back for a good chunk of episodes. |
