| If Ito and the production committee's goal was to convey a feeling of terrible discomfort as everyone around you suddenly went crazy (starting from people and ending with the laws of reality), then they succeeded. Although I still have to admit, there are so many things in the first episode already that are meme-worthy. |

@TaifSux yeah, I feel that everyone who's praising the pacing either never read the manga or is just a fanboy. The animation is great and it's nice to see some scenes in motion, but they're skipping too many scenes, it feels like a summary of the manga instead of an adaptation

| Wow it's finally here after years of waiting. Holy Shit, they fcking nailed the atmosphere. It was so disturbing, successfully made me goosebumps. It really made me on the edge of my seat the whole episode. Finally an Anime Adaptation that works for JUNJI ITO Horror Manga. |

| More than scary, I have felt "comedy". I went to the manga to see if it was something from the anime (without focusing too much I admit) but no, this is really humor. An old crazy man who becomes obsessed with spirals, his wife going bald because she sees a cloud of smoke with her husband's face on it (Simba didn't lose his hair when he saw Mufasa), and a crazy woman with a spiral on her forehead that ends up eating her, is disgusting but not terrifying. Every day I see scarier things, like the frequency of the train I use to go to work, half the days there is a breakdown, or seeing Ferrán Torres playing. |

To me, they can do the same animation to Berserk. Uzumaki didn't loose any of its details so Berserk can do as well
| @User476674 Uzumaki is one volume long. Berserk is topping over 400 chapters, getting this level of detail in a Berserk animation would be impossible: Uzumaki took 4 years to be made. |

| Nice atmosphere, but I feel like I would have wanted a more proper introduction or some kind of exposition, felt very fast into the action. Also not a massive fan of the cgi rotoscoping but it is what it is. At least the style was captured nicely. |

| I haven’t read the manga but ever since they announced this i think back in 2021 I’ve been waiting for the Uzumaki adaptation and I like the black and white approach really creepy ep really good |

| The pacing is very odd, I understand there's only four episodes but it still feels somewhat rushed, the CGI and bad lip syncing of some of the characters really threw me off and some scenes looked a little... goofy? rather than scary. Even though it is DEFINITELY an improvement from past adaptations, it still has a lot of flaws and it makes me think Junji Ito's works are fated to live perfectly only in their manga formats where the build up and tension of everything slowly happening create an even more intense reveal and fear |
| Another overrated Adult Swim anime, its ninja kamui all over again. The source material is amazing but they somehow make this unenjoyable. This is painfully mid. Pacing is horrific, and they're even reusing shots on EP 1. The end product feels more awkward then scary. This is a misguided mess. Subs are WAY TF out of sync too for Japanese. They're too lazy to have a seperate sub track for JP. I hate when Adult Swim does anime. |

@Nik012 well if it really is only 4 episodes might as well. But this show is so ugly I legit got a fuckin migraine. I'm not continuing lmao
| @Landonime Have you ever even read any of Junji Ito's works? I guess visuals are subjective, but considering that it's Ito's style we're talking about here, they pretty much nailed it down. |
| this was definitely worth the wait!! i love how they made it in b&w and how they animated the movement of the characters, the music was composed very well and gave a eerie feeling. now this is how u adapt a juju ito manga for sure. |

| So far i dont see the hype. It was barely alright. saved by the animation and characters but honestly the spiral shiot was kinda dumb. ill keep watchin see what all the fuss is about but i dont have any hope yet. I think a lot of people are "liking" it because its some kind of cult classic and they cant be honest. People liking it cause its edgy but really its not. |

That's why I still have a backlog from summer and that I'm happy when I can watch 2 episodes on other days than Saturday.
