Grandma Nonka's final secret order for Atri of Project Eden, it's somewhere alright, but the lil' Humanoid's still a piece of scrap at the end of the day if they don't figure it out.

As expected, Natsuki's grandmother is rather tight-lipped about Eden, on top of her brash attitude, and without a clue, Natsuki and the rest have no leads to go by, until the kids give him a piece of newspaper about his grandmother that formalized a search area to begin with. Despite charting areas for a start, Eden is nowhere to be found, and the fog that was present back then, is now present as well, and it's deliberately man-made so as to hide from possible intruders, even if it meant her own grandson plowing through the heavy currents to reach the mysterious place.

With the submarine in one piece, Natsuki found Eden: an island where robots as animals reside to take care of the place, with Atri having a moment with robotic birds. It's quite the man-made mammoth of a job maintaining a gigantic elaborate laboratory powered by automation to prove that her work isn't all for naught from being ridiculed. And right now, she wants Atri to be give a purpose to be in charge of the island, at the disdain of Natsuki having helped Atri regain her heart all this while.

A 3 days deadline between destroying Atri's memory or following Nonko's orders, Natsuki didn't want to face this prospect, but what will Atri's ultimate decision be?

Fanservice episode! The girls looked great 😋

Get in the E..energy generator Atri! Man as soon as things start going so well for Natsuki and Atri, accepting how they feel off one another and moving forward together to find Eden, the world comes crashing down around them. Finale is gonna be gut wrenching isn’t it

So turns out Eden is more like hell for Atri and Natsuki if they have to part for it to come online.. Natsuki’s grandma putting the 45 day self destruction timer there seems cruel and unnecessary idk. Things were going so well in the garden with Natsuki and atri flirting and then you do this to me 😭 want to next week to come so I can find out what happens but at the same time don’t wanna be heartbroken.

Mission: Locate a site tied to your final orders and your entire purpose of existing
High-performance protocol: Catch a crab

On one hand, Nonko trivializing Natsuki's disability as a reason for failing to pursue his dreams is awful, not to mention hard-coding a memory wipe on a robot with a capacity for love. On another, the beetle robots she designed are freaking sweet.

@Marinate1016 Yeah his grandma putting in the 45 day timer is an anime original part. While the time limit existed in the VN (and we are made aware of it from the beginning without the details but with a daily countdown), [VN SPOILERS]

Honestly with the number of rewrites of things and the addition of anime original content, they were bound to make a few weird spots like this when tying events back together to get to the ending. Still interesting, but at times it feels more like a derivative work than an adaptation.

All praise Nonko, the only god left on this desolate land.

I can get that she could have foreseen the rising of the seas, but how does one person manage to do something like Eden, copy themselves onto an AI, and make so many plans over plans so it all works her way?

I cannot wait for the final episode. I just hope they don't pull a Plastic Memories over here 💔

Real bro. Imagine being able to show that the sea-level rise will happen, but it's so high-level no one understands and chooses not to believe it. Then spending a fortune just to build this facility, not to mention however long it would have taken. Although copying yourself onto an AI seems somewhat believable because we have AI these days that's able to train based off artist's images to produce art in their style, or train off people's writing/speech to replicate their communication patterns.

I kinda don't understand why she didn't just program the location of Eden into the capsule and transfer it to Atri when the battery dies. I thought the intent was that Atri would come out of the capsule on her own, and then just swim there herself, but perhaps she was intending to rely on Natsuki to figure it out even though he said she doesn't rely on others. Then there's also the question of why Atri wasn't just at Eden in the first place, but the answer to that probably has something to do with the 2 second ship flashback we saw from Natsuki. Now that I think about it, they didn't explain why they need Atri in the facility when Nonko has her own AI already running. A lot of questions, hopefully they can wrap things up nicely with just the 1 final episode left.

My main problem is that I feel the deviations from the source material aren't handled very well in this episode. Turning grandma into a super villain isn't a good move. And don't get me started on the bullshit science that "Earth will be destroyed by the sea levels rising 70 meters."

@Love_And_Forward I´m confused at how the grandma is portrayed here as a "villain" . Not sure if in the novel was the same way.

@Mione48 No, she's not, and Atri's final order wasn't given by the grandma either.

As a side note I still think we are being set up for a somewhat "happy" ending because by casting grandma in the villain role, she ends up something that must be defeated. I refuse to believe all the changes to the source material are for nothing, but I am very disappointed in how they are handling it as of now.

So we ended last week's episode with a cliffhanger only to end this episode with another cliffhanger.... and it's not looking too good for Atri and Natsuki. I think that if Atri does defy Natsuki's orders it's because the order for her to get into the capsule is from grandma who is the original owner.

Anyway, we'll see what happens in the finale next week and if Atri does get in the capsule maybe it won't be the end of her. On a side note the girls looked great in their bikinis.

I can't believe there's only one more episode left... 😖😖😖
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I knew it. The 45 days memory wipe limit sounds silly since how the hell will this help to keep EDEN thing a secret if somebody needs to awaken Atri to locate it in the first place and that somebody will find out about EDEN anyway.

There still are some chances for Natsuki to save Atri. If he can make it to the Academy to study Humanoids, then he would be able to solve the problem.

They finally found Eden, the base where Atri was kept in a capsule. Atri managed to build beautiful relationship with everyone and she’s cute as well.

One more episode left for this anime and it’s over. Can’t wait to see the ending!

Grandma is a bit of a mad scientist. In this world, the establishment was not into climate change so grandma on her own established a place that would save himanity. It's a bit rushed but at least it has this.

ETA: I keep wondering what's the sphere Atri is holding in the OP. I suppose it has to do with Eden but we're not given that.

Great fanservice from Minamo—Natsuki sure missed out by being a bit of a lolicon and robophile, haha.

They found Natsuki's grandmother's last request, "Eden," but at what cost? It turns out Atri only has 45 days left to live. Apparently, the VN handled this better, but here it felt a bit anticlimactic. Plus, it doesn’t make much sense why Atri needs to be the central system of the island if it’s already functioning on its own. Still, with Atri's countdown ticking away, there aren’t many options left, and their likely separation is going to leave a void in me.

This all seems kinda dumb. What's next, the fix-the-world button needing someone with one leg to stand on a pressure plate and press buttons that can only be pressed with crutches and cry into a special tube or it won't work? Perhaps he'll solve it with his own dumb magic engineering next episode. Can't wait for the epiphany that his grandmother believed in him all along.

Such a weak excuse just for the sake of drama (pretty much the same case as in episode 11: if her battery dies, she'll lose her memory). It’s kinda funny how many people overlook such details. As an addition to your post:

- Why tf does an autonomous island even need to be managed in the first place?
- Why isn’t there manual control if something happens to the capsule or Atri?
