| Since I no longer use Windows, and haven't for a decade now, this is definitely something I'm pulling from memory. However, I did continue to use these for a few years after I ditched Windows, using them through WINE. If I remember right, I used to use a specific emulator for the Turbografix-16 called Ootake. I know it wasn't a remotely up-to-date version, and was instead just a version I had on a flash drive for god knows how long. Shockingly, its last newest version came out in 2022, which I didn't expect. I thought for sure it was long dead. I also used VirtuaNES as my NES emulator of choice, which is way more dead in comparison, having last been updated in late 2007. Obviously now I'd just use something like mednafen for TG-16 emulation, and fceux for NES emulation, as the idea of using something that's been without updates for multiple years just doesn't sit right with me anymore. |

I'm still using Windows 8.1...on a laptop that isn't even connected to the Internet. I don't trust connecting Windows to the Internet, unless you wanna get hacked/infected by malware. I surf the Internet on a second laptop that runs on Linux. No offense, but if you are surfing the Internet with Windows, you probably already have a whole bunch of malware infecting your Windows PC. You just aren't aware that your PC's security has already been compromised by hackers. |

| I work in IT so regedit, lusrmgr.msc, tpm.msc, device manager, event viewer (and its often forgotten cousin the reliabiluty monitor) and the run window are used regularly. Microsoft has said that they'll deprecate regedit but I don't know how they're gonna do that when they haven't provided a good replacement. I use qBittorrent, 7zip and mpv even though they aren't really "outdated" since they are still actively supported but their UI certainly looks outdated (which I like a lot, that's the kind of UI I'm used to). I also use Munt which is a Roland MT-32 emulator that I use with DOSBox, another outdated application although I've recently moved to DOSBox's actively developed forks but the fact that I stayed with it for so long proves that it was a decent piece of software despite not being updated for a decade. Also I used ePSXe before Duckstation came out. Slightly of topic but if we're talking about stuff that looks "outdated", I use brasero, mkvtoolnix and a lot of command line applications (nano, gcc, gzip) on my linux computer. |

| Paint.NET, it's just like the most outdated painting software ever, but it was the first one I used, so I'm just so used to using it for drawing and editing images and stuff. There's probably a lot better free painting softwares out there but I'll just stick with Paint.NET. |

| WordPad. Not sure if it's outdated or not, but it's quite old and all these years that I've been using it, it looks exactly the same. Other than that, most of the programs/apps I'm using (e.g. qBittorrent, MPC-HC, Sumatra PDF to name a few), are old, but still receive updates. |

I prefer if changes are made through some group policy settings based on the OU of the AD object rather than opening up Regedit on each machine manually. | My computer has been in a bad condition for years now so i haven't used the Windows computer much. I have used Audacity before but not a lot. I was using the LastFM scrobbler but I am debating if I should just ditch LastFM for some local way to see my music playing stats. I was using a now discontinued media player called Wondershare player because at the time it was sometimes able to better play videos that VLC was crashing on due to bad encoding or missing data and it had a borderless hovering player mode i liked, i wouldnt recommend it today though there is probably other options than this proprietary software that liked to hijack file types in my settings without asking me. I have some really niche programs I cant even remember the name of one for making isochronic tones and another that showed me a live spectrogram I used when i was attempting overtone singing. Chances are you dont even have an antivirus or if you do it is ClamAV which was never that good to begin with, you might not even be using a firewall and probably not a system permission management rules running do you? There is ways to block ads system wide like using a firewall (Im a little hazy on how to set that up for this purpose) or use a DNS like AdGaurd or NextDNS (if you set up a custom block list) then clear your DNS cache after setting it up. I had trouble figuring out how to use NextDNS myself though, AdGaurd is easier to set up but i heard it doesnt block YouTube ads well but maybe those people didnt flush their DNS cache, or has to do with how their ads work. I think skins are standard where it is cross compatible like they used to be but im not sure. If it isnt many are likely converted already |

Im not sure if there is or is not a way to do that since I haven't used it before just read about it. There is ways to block ads system wide like using a firewall (Im a little hazy on how to set that up for this purpose) or use a DNS like AdGaurd or NextDNS (if you set up a custom block list) then clear your DNS cache after setting it up. I had trouble figuring out how to use NextDNS myself though, AdGaurd is easier to set up but i heard it doesnt block YouTube ads well but maybe those people didnt flush their DNS cache, or has to do with how their ads work.
I think skins are standard where it is cross compatible like they used to be but im not sure. If it isnt many are likely converted already
