Mobile device, I do like how sites are following the endless scrolling instead of tapping or gestured swipes to move onto the next page/panel

i prefer to read phyiscal copies rather than digital ones; it just feels nicer. but if i am reading it on a device it would be on my ipad (sometimes my phone if i'm doing a quick check/flip through of the manga).

I rarely read manga on my phone, but sometimes happens when I'm too lazy to find and boot the tablet (it's slow and heavy).

Overall, the tablet is my favorite. It's large, bright and colorful.

I'm also okay with my e-book reader, it's more eye friendly, but smaller, monochrome (not really a problem tho, except for the cover) and I have to choose between ghost images (not acceptable) or screen flashing every new page (a bit annoying but not that bad)

I have an Honor Tab x9. I specifically chose it for reading manga because of the 11.5-inch 120hz 2k display. High quality manga looks so crisp, and it's really fluid and responsive.

On my phone, it's easier that way. Plus, I can read whenever and wherever.

I find reading manga on a desktop or laptop to be... awkward.

I read on a tablet, if I'm in a pinch and don't have the tablet for some reason I use my phone. I could use my laptop but it's just not the same, having a vertical screen is a must for me.

98% of the time I read manga it's on my shitty laptop, as I find the bigger screen to be better and make me feel more sigma while reading manga

Does anyone read manga/manhwa on e-ink device? I wonder what your setup is.

I'm terribly annoyed with my phones/tablets dimming and reflecting at the sunshine. They also heat up like crazy. I tried to read on my Kindle, but that's too much of hassle, like pre-downloading stuff, converting to a specific format etc.

I was thinking to buy one of those newer Pocketbook devices with colorful e-ink, but they still don't have Android, so I can't just install my reader app and go...

If someone explored it and ended up with a perfect mobile setup which doesn't fall apart on a sunny day, please share.

I read manga on a Supernote A5X, it's very comfortable and has an e-ink screen. I didn't purchase it for this purpose, but it's a nice bonus. I can't say for sure how it performs in the daylight as I haven't tried reading it outside, but perhaps I could find out and show you, if you'd like.

I download manga online as .cbz files and transfer them as to my tablet. .cbz files are are basically ZIP folders with series of numbered images. The screen can only display grayscale colors.

There is also temporary burn in when flipping through pages, but that can be easily fixed by sliding my finger up on the line on the right side of the tablet. This refreshes the screen, removing the burn in. I can see how this could be a hassle for some, though.

It has no backlight, so it doesn't get hot and the screen won't strain your eyes.

I've shared an image of the tablet below. If you look closely, you'll notice burn in from another page.

Thanks for sharing. So you still need to go to some manga site, download as .cbz, upload to the device and then read? That's what I did with my kindle (with an extra step to convert .cbz to .mobi).

Ideally I would like an Android colorful e-ink device, so I could install a reading app and skip all the preparation steps, getting the same experience as on mobile/tablet, but with e-ink. I've tried one such e-ink device with Android in a store, but its screen felt rubbish compared to Kindle/Pocketbook I'm using for books.

I'll probably go for colorful Pocketbook and pre-downloading/conversion step, just asked here in case someone found a better setup...

Pretty much. I use an app (not sure if I am allowed to share its name here) to batch download manga as .cbz files, which I then upload to a folder I created for the manga on my tablet.

I'm not sure how color e-link devices perform but I am aware that there has been a lot of development on them within the past two years. If you want to read your manga in color e-ink, I don't think you should settle for a device with a grayscale display. Sometimes I miss the color of light novel illustrations on my Kobo Libra 2- I can't imagine having to read an entire colored graphic novel in grayscale.

My Supernote A5X has an older version of Android on it. Some users have been able to "hack" or mod it to download .apk Android applications, like the Moon+ Reader reading app. So, you may find other e-ink devices capable of downloading Android applications, if not natively.

I hope you are able to find a device that works for you!

I read generally on my Kobo Libra 2. It's really nice and I take it pretty much everywhere. I can even borrow manga ebooks from my library (although my library doesn't have a great manga selection in ebooks, lol).

I also sometimes read on my laptop. If I'm reading something that I didn't purchase/borrow, then it's easier to read on the computer rather than trying to download the files and load them onto the ereader.

If I can paper, but lately since they have raised the prices and there are many more sites where you can read legally, mainly on tablets.

I sometimes use physical manga, but when I don't use it I use my phone or computer to read manga. Manga is way better on a big screen so that's why I prefer my computer over my phone.

When the sun sets, who doth not look for night?
Untimely storms make men expect a dearth."

I've got a Kindle and have a decent collection of manga on there now! I've always loved physically collecting but have had to sell most of my collection since I'm moving to another country soon. Kindle has allowed me to keep reading without spending thousands to transport my collection. (It's sad to sell most of my physical collection but I'm seeing it as a journey to recollect and uh, actually complete series. I had a silly habit of buying lots of different series but only completing a few. Would like to change that so I kept my completed series like "Galaxy Angel", "A.I. Love You", etc.)
