| I honestly cannot accurately and objectively say what is the "best". Number one, because that's very subjective. Number two because, even on a more subjective basis, I have seen, by comparison to the more recent 2000s, 2010s, and even early 2020s decade, hardly any anime as much as I would like and eventually intend to see from the previous older decades of, say, the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and even 90s. But for my own foray into anime and anime viewing experience since the start, I can say that my favorite or the personally "best" for me is the 2000s. Both because I have a lot of retroactive nostalgia for that decade/era, and either apart from or maybe partially because of that, four of my overall Top 5, or 80%, (Inuyasha, Koi Kaze, Haibane Renmei, and Higurashi) are 2000s series, from 2000, 2004, 2002, and 2006, respectively. |
| i don't have a favorite decade, i just don't watch anything pre-1980 but thats mostly cause the art/animation is usually JUST TOO old looking and choppy, which obviously isn't the fault of the time |

| 2010s so far, but 2020s is on track to become the best decade if it keeps this pace. What supports my choice? The amount of anime I consider good from these decades (= the fact that there are more bad anime as well doesn't matter). |

Of course, if u just replicate what ur favourite animes are, u might doing a mistake, cause maybe u just watch more modern animes, so there fore , with all the subjectivity, you can only be "objective" if u watched more or less same amount of animes of the same decade, which also fails, cause it depends also on genres and so on.
We can argue that never will be a better era, cause all eras are different and evaluate different things, good animes will keep on airing and spawning
In my case i would say i enjoy more 2006-2016 with the notable exception of LOGH best anime.

| @BaronLukis It's a flat survey. Nobody has the right answer. And the answer cannot be developed much either. And obviously you base it on what you liked/watched. In addition to the fact that what for one may be the best series, for another a bad series of the bunch. For example; you named FMAB and Hunter X Hunter. Which, in my opinion, are two average series, pulling down. With zero character development, boring fights and episodes that become long and boring. You simply answer what you think and that's it. |

| It's a very personal take, but it's the 2020s. I'm a fan of modern anime. While I barely watched anything from before 2000, I just never really liked the popular trends and styles from the 2000s and early 2010s which made me completely lose interest in the medium for a while. Both the late 2010s and the early 2020s have been great, but I kind of feel more at home with the current decade. |
