Very good episode, the life that Rudeus leads is very beautiful...something had to happen and something happened
There is no “right” or “wrong” decision here, both are valid… continuing to take care of your sisters, wife and future child or helping your parents is literally being against a rock and a hard place.
In my case I am very close to my parents so my decision is obvious, apart from if I put on Rudeus' shoes... he does not abandon his sisters and wife on the street and alone, they have many friends and a beautiful house. . . ..plus it is in a place that is safe (now a terrible apocalypse was approaching the school and everything I said is going to the trash hahaha)
I know you would miss the important moment (the birth of your child) but finding out later that my parents died or something and I can do something... mmm it would hurt a lot
The advice that the god of humans gives sometimes is incredible haha

PS: I like to see how the characters progress

PS2: a part where Aisha was talking about Rudeus giving her his love... I hope it's not like my twisted head is imagining it, although seeing the things that happened in this anime... anything could be

Well, that was boring. Last time I checked, Turning Points in MT used to be exhilarating and easily the best episode of their respective season. Oh well... at least the "Adventure" tag will finally make sense within this cour.
Or maybe the real Turning Point was 60yo MC finally achieving his goal of impregnating one of his underaged lovers ๐Ÿค”

That aside, I now wonder if Nanahoshi's investigation will be used in some way to help Rudeus get to Begaritt Continent faster. The idea in itself sounds kinda suicidal but you never know.

@stevejawbs So, now millenials get to define the term "boomer?" Would you equally happy with straight people getting to define "gay," or Black people getting to define "White?" :)

But of course this is way off topic.
@Love_And_Forward Ok boomer

@silversaint I would imagine when someone is in a rush, the contents need to be kept simple so that the recipient isn't wasting time on deducing the necessary details and making a decision. Especially if it's a year's journey to arrive at the location and there is a chance you'll either have the situation resolved before help arrives, or things will get worse without it.

I can't imagine Geese had the time to write "Hey, Rudy! Hope things are going well. The situation on saving your mom is going downhill faster than a boulder on a steep plane. A bit of assistance would be fantastic, but only if you can manage it."

"Thorkell has no resistance to getting kicked in the f-in head. To be honest, neither do I." -Captain Mack

"You've faced many life-and-death situations. But that does not make you an adult. Finding more fallen-out hairs on your pillow, watching your favorite stuffed-bread disappear from the convenience store... the accumulation of those little despairs is what makes a person an adult."-Nanami Kento

"When a piece of media is bad, it's much easier to nitpick the less significant things because they're seen as a part of the problem. Alternatively, it becomes more difficult to nitpick something like a masterpiece because even the flaws are seen as contributing to the overall quality of the media." -Paraphrasing Mauler

@metatron13 I'm not unhappy with the result - though I'm not actually much of an action freak, and I'm not totally enamored with overpower protagonists; I just like to see the story progress. I didn't have the slightest against Rudy and Sylphie getting married, potentially having kids, so on and so forth... my only real problem in this season has been the pacing, and the giant red arrows.

Let's hope for an enjoyable second part of the season! (And that'd be my point... they've already wasted half the episodes.)

@silversaint Your version still takes too much time and gives too much to deliberate over. If Geese had time to write more than a handful of words, it implies that things are not as bad as the ASAP would suggest. Generally, you don't send a text message with a handful of words if you're not in a hurry, right? It's usually a lengthier reply to present your point coherently.

If I'm in imminent danger/the situation requires immediate action, I'm sending a summary of what's up. "In car crash. Need help," is going to be easier to react to than "I was in a car crash. Can't move my legs. Need help ASAP."

@Rasco i wouldnt be surprised if he'll ask Nanahoshi for help, she mentioned about the teleportation circles before and she can probably convince Orsted to let Rudeus use it. Plus, Nana also has an incentive to help Rudeus, which is to get him back ASAP to help her research.

Aisha is a clever girl. She knows how to do things.

Congratulations to rudy and his wife.

The story is gonna be insane from here.

I hate the future part but we can't change it.

Anyways, a good episode.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

Now in a way we could say both sisters are content with the way things are going, I mean Norn adjusted her ways after last episode too. By the way, we know how happy-go-lucky things are going for Rudy, like we really do, I mean this is what they have been shoving onto our faces since the last cour, so of course we get it.

Add the news of Sylphy’s pregnancy on top of it, so yeah, good times, we get it. If the supposed big twist in this episode was the revelation of the fact that “Zenith is still not rescued and they’re finding it tough”, then that is the most obvious thing I’ve heard this whole year lol. We know, she still isn’t rescued, I mean Paul would’ve let Rudy know if they’ve already found her, so… what? Also, it isn’t like Hitogami tied Rudy’s hands with a rope and wasn’t letting him go anywhere, it was his own choice when he decided he won’t leave to rescue Zenith lol.

I’m actually failing to understand what was the “Turning Point 3” here? Like the last two times, we could see. That fact that Zenith is still not rescued and Rudeus had a sore expression for a minute was the “tUrnINg pOinT”??? Lol. Or was it the fact that Norn was actually the(only)smartest person around and was the only one willing to help Paul and co. in rescuing Zenith???

That has to be right? The "TURNING POINT 3". Right??

The turning point is that the story has now changed course, we (the audience) just haven't taken the first step on the new path yet.

The thing that's also different this time around is that it's the first turning point where Rudy has agency. The mana disaster and Orsted were things that happened to Rudeus, not because of him. That might be why it seems so subtle/muted/uneventful. Trust me, this one choice has MAJOR consequences going forward. Already, this is now the first time he's gone against Hitogami's (Man-God, don't remember if he's been explicitly name dropped in the anime yet) advice (turning down the clear carrot offered in regards to Linia and Pursena), and the first time he's had to assign a priority to two equally suboptimal outcomes. Our boy is adulting now, and it's beautiful to see.

Definitely not quite as wild a turning point as we’ve had before, but it certainly is a turning point since it’s a big change from the SoL school stuff we’ve had so far. And of course it happened right at the height of Rudeus’ life at the school, his wife got pregnant (on Mother’s Day even), his relationship with his sisters is now smooth sailing, and he’s still got some great friends, but now he has to leave it all to save his mom, that’s rough lol. I do find it weird the letter wasn’t specific about anything, just said send help, but of course Rudeus can’t ignore it.

And not only that, we also have the Man God, who we haven’t seen in quite a while, telling Rudeus not to go and to also cheat on Sylphie who just got pregnant, I mean the beast girls are hot and all but man that hurts since Rudeus planned to be faithful, I’m glad he’s skipping out on that even if the Man God has yet to lead him astray. But even if it hurts to see Rudeus leave this slice of Heaven, I’m really looking forward to the journey to getting to his mom, as well as finding out what exactly is making it hard to save her, I know the OP kinda spoils it but I’m more so interested in the context. And damn, no episode next week, but I’m sure it’ll be here before we know it.

You might want to recall what advice Hitogami gave him, and what events that did (or didnt) lead to.

I’m ngl, I haven’t seen Season 1 since it came out so I don’t remember all the advice that was given exactly, but I know the Man God said his advice has always came in handy in this episode which is why I said that

But... he's the pillar of his family, as he said. AND he already said he wouldn't go. There's no reason to think Sylphie and everyone won't be okay on their own, but he has more responsibility to his wife and child than his parents. Or so I was thinking, yet somehow I feel okay with this resolution, especially given Norn's feelings. Still, children grow up either way, as Zanoba said, but I wonder if Rudeus sufficiently understands the regret he'll have for missing out on his child's first years. He seems to have a habit of missing the early years of those important to him, starting with his sisters.

The question in the back of my mind the whole time, though, was why didn't he even consider sending someone else instead of himself? The message said send help, not send Rudeus. If I were him, my first thought would be to delegate. He has numerous powerful friends and connections - surely there must be someone capable of helping that he could ask.

@Selion It was directly sent to him since Geese knows how strong Rudeus is already, and considering the situation where Roxy is a Water King, Paul is advanced and really good in all sword styles with his own help there and others like Talhand and Geese who are S-ranked adventurers with Paul, if they struggling this much as they are, you need people like Rudeus to help out strength-wise. Danger could not just be there with his mother but the others as well (and it has been months probably since that letter was sent since it takes a long time to receive them) so more urgency for him and Elinalise (who is also S-ranked and is comrades with Roxy, and her old party including Zenith) to go help them. Guys like Soldat were gone and trying to contact him would just waste extra time and the others he are connected with are very inexperienced in adventuring to a far place and constantly fighting monsters in a survival atmosphere. It is a year+ long commitment to get to Begaritt, a place that is dangerous (below Demon Continent level but above the other countries we have seen like Millis or Shirone).

TL;DR - urgency, connections either not being there and inefficient to ask them in urgent times or not as experienced enough

@demonofmirkwood Less of hating his mom and more of being conflicted since he has a family now with a baby on the way. Getting to Begaritt and back means he's missing the birth and a bit more, and if very strong people are struggling like Paul and Roxy to name a few, his life could be in danger which will cause further issues for his family, especially with Sylphy given the kid. And finally, Hitogami's advice being as quick as it was didnt help him either since he never defied Hitogami before and it has helped him out in different ways (even with finding family like Aisha and Lilia) so the idea of going against him, which he eventually did, consequences are unknown.

Well, Rudeus's turning point was choosing between his family or his family, of course it was a difficult decision, what intrigues me is why Hitogami says he will regret it...

I was surprised that he didn't accept Hitogami's offer to mate with Linia or Pursena xd, it's silly but within that you can see the development that Rudeus has had and the maturity that he has gained.

@Farabeuf not really. Having a lack of action means nothing if it doesn't build towards a grand narrative. The poll results show this season to be a massive disappointment relative to the hype. This isn't a show where sakuga alone can carry it unlike jjk amd kny. And we haven't had big twists.
