Himari is truly thankful for all Aoi has done and I believe her feelings are geninue. Now that the battles are over, peace is here although the main story still seems like a far cry from over.

Regardless, their connection remains a core part of this season and the finale didn't stray from that.

Feels like this finale is a celebration of their relationship and also Himari being able to understand her new life.

With Nachi out of the picture, Himari is back and fine, though she still has unfinished business at her house: a celebratory party between everyone, with the much-furnished Momochi House, filled with her favourite sunflowers (which is where her name comes from). But the house itself is filled with so much secrets that while Himari choosing Aoi's shelf saved everyone, the house laden with Himari's parents' secrets, of which her mother's story of her being just a typical human who can't see ayakashi, alongside the daughter who conversely can see the spirits, even without the powers of the Momochi, they still treat her like a real daughter. Aoi finding interest in reading her family's story, only to be narrowly consumed to evil due to the stress of the Momochi name, he as Nue, as vowed to protect her until her eventual return to the mansion. In a way, Aoi has made the connection between Himari and her parents.

The celebratory party with fun and food all around, it's not enough without Summer fireworks, and Aoi very kindly and temporarily transformed into Nue to light the firework yokai into the sky, and even got a chance to ride on it. Himari, meaning the light that crosses the seas, she's been a beneficial character to Aoi all this while, and the result of that is their love for each other. The restraints of both released, become one.

Yep, this was not a good show, the adaptation is a bombshell compared to the manga.

A satisfying finale. 7/10 overall. I was really happy to see Aoi express his love for Himari. The fireworks and dragons were very pretty.

Happy episode, but this doesn't look like the final episode at all.

I was harsh on this show at times because I felt like it was underbaked, but solid finale. Got the confession and kiss as well as learning about Himari’s mother and the connection Aoi shared with her via the diary.

I think it’s beautiful in a way that Aoi got to learn so much about Himari and her family thru the diary. So even though they didn’t meet until later in life, he kinda already knew her. That makes their speed run relationship a lot better in my eyes. I felt like Himari had fallen for Aoi too soon at first, but they’ve done a good job of fleshing out their relationship in the last 3 or so eps.

Doesn’t feel like the end tho. Not sure how much more of the manga there is, but I think Kasha could use some more screen time since he was so hyped at the start of the show.

Cute final scene though, that sweet moment between Aoi and Himari was long overdue 👌

Not the strongest shoujo ever, but bad its moments for sure.

I think the ending was fine. It was a pretty happy one, which is deserved.

It's not bad, but there's better anime out there.

I think it was a nice story, and beautifully drawn too. Nothing too special but entertaining enough. There are shows way worse than this this season, and for some reason those are being rated much higher than this

Tho I'd say this wasn't the biggest anime to write home about, they ended this one really well, it managed to tie in everything going on and concluded stuff too, I really liked this ending loads it was really sweet :>

Pretty good. Mixture fruit basket and kamisama kiss. Overall, 6.80/10. Had some few problem with the show but over pretty good. Let just hope for season 2.

so, this last episode had a kiss, a firework show and lots of partying, was a cute episode
oh we also had the talk about the diary, didn't expect that her mom could also see ghosts
(lol i was gonna write about the 2 moms but then realised that backstory was about Aoi and not Himari)

i wasn't a big fan of this anime tbh, but it was still an easy watch, we had our Himari full of energy (and amazing at getting into risky situations...) and the 3 boys who protected the world from bad monsters lol
tho, just like in many other stories, not all "monsters" are bad, some just want to live peacefully, just like all those ayakashi that live in the house

there were plenty of sad backstories in this, like Aoi, Himari and the teacher, but ultimately, fate decided which ones ended up happy (Himari and Aoi) and which ones gave into anger and lost everything (teacher)

anyway, i'll rate it a 6/10, not exactly my thing, but not something i thought about dropping either
i imagine that this will another season some day, i wonder if i'll watch it or not
favorite "new girls" from summer <3 ... click sig for older seasons and more possible picks (rip all the other choices)

this episode and series overall skipped through a lot stuff in the manga. sometimes, i feel they've switch around the arcs too. have to reread it to make sure, it has been a couple of years. this adaption would've been better if they haven't rushed through it to get to nachi's arc. if i remember correctly, aoi's confession and himari learning about the true meaning of her name until much later in the manga and that feeling where the adaptation might have skipped through the gang meeting with another major character. would've been better if they actually made the series a 24-26 episode count one and be treated it like fruit basket (2019 version), parasyte, and a couple others since momochi manga ended back in 2019 as i see no hope of a season 2. if you never read the manga before, do it if it's available to you. it'll give you all the answers you may still have questions for or still confused over.

Himari's parents loved her without a doubt, Aoi being the one to carry on the torch to protect their beloved daughter really is the definition of fate, I am so glad Aoi and Himari can finally be together now that we learned the past and the burden her parents carried but they still protected her till the end
