It definitely will be considering it’s a ton of people’s favourite and a lot of people praise it for how well it was written. I think at least for a few years (probs longer) it will always be brought up in discussions about best storytelling, plot twists, etc., in an anime whether you agree with that or not.

just because it's over doesn't mean it'll just be forgotten. Evangelion ended like 20 years ago (not counting the rebuilds) and it's still frequently discussed

Of course there’s no new content so it’s not gonna be always to craze now but it will definitely always be a big and famous anime.

I’m planning on recommending it to anyone who has or hasn’t watched anime, please tell me y’all will too πŸ˜”

Just because a show is over doesn't mean it will become irrelevant.

Yes with time it will be talked about less as new shows come in.

But eventually it will become part of the legacy shows like FMAB, HunterxHunter, Code Geass, Death Note etc that are used as examples in conversations about other animes.

Also from what I've seen most Anime Onlies seem to consider AoT one of the best Starter Anime.
So it will always be relevant in that regard.

Yes I’m fact AOT will be wiped from everyone’s collective memories and be erased from streaming services. No one will ever take inspiration from this series and any work that already has will cease to exist. As we speak Isayama has gone around personally and collected every volume ever printed and replaced it with an isekai called “that time I was reincarnated as a war criminal”.

I don't think so. The fact it's over doesn't mean it's gonna become forgotten. Attack on Titan is already an iconic anime title, so it will attract a lot of anime fans even years after its anime has reached its end.

And well... there are also Attack on Titan spin-off stories that are waiting to be animated. :)

The hype will die down as it always does, but people will still talk about, get into, and love AOT. For ten years, at least.

When will people realise a show ending doesn't mean it just vanishes off of the face of the earth. And given the controversial ending, AoT will still be discussed for years to come

It really just depends on which side of the community or fandom you’re around honestly. But from What I heard and recall is that CG and DN alike from the time they were made and finished were way more popular if not the same as aot is now and that degree of popularity never went away but aots was a little bit less talked about till few weeks of its finale release. I don’t really blame it because nowadays compared to then (when CG and DN dropped) there werent too much spam of seasonal stuff like isekais, sol, rom coms, etc.

It’s so joeoever. I give it a good year and a half before it’s completely irrelevant. More than likely the sequel will be announced to keep the gravy train rolling tho, lol.

What am I coping about? That there will be a second series? The ending literally suggests that is literally inevitable. Am I coping people will forget about Attack on Titan? There’s literally nothing else to go on. Chainsaw Man is way more relevant than Attack on Titan at the moment, and they haven’t seen a greenlight for a second season in years since the first season.

Chainsaw man being more relevant? People forgot that shit once it stopped airing. AOT's popularity and quality guarantee that it will talked about for years to come, like Death Note, Code Geass, and the rest.

Realistically no. Death Note for example has always been criticized for its lackluster episodes near the end but a lot of people still get into it probably due to how large the existing fanbase already is. I could see the same for AoT, though I think it would be harder for AoT because in addition to the lackluster last arc, it also pissed off the fanbase due to the final final final season cockblock they did.
It's gonna survive. Thrive? not sure.

Why would it get the FMA treatment? It kept to the original story, and didn’t change anything. There’s really no point in doing that.

that is how recency bias works especially with how many new anime are release each season the old ones are quickly forgotten but you can be sure attack on titan will be a top recommendation for a long time

so ye a lot of fans will forget it but a cult of dedicated fans will not

omg you have no idea what's coming in Chainsaw Man season 2 onwards then.
The 4½ volumes they covered in the 12 episodes of season 1 were only the intro & setup stuff.
The Chainsaw Man manga gets PEAK AF from the next arc onwards, and only gets EXPONENTIALLY better from then on till the end (of Part 1).

Ah yes, a series that earned the title of being the most in-demand and popular show globally for 2 consecutive years (2021-22), competing with the likes of Walking Dead, GOT, Squid Games and is among finalists of 2023 as well, will now magically be forgotten/irrelevant in 2023, just because the final episode came out and it has concluded.
https://www.globaldemandawards.com/

S4P1 winning the anime of the year (2021). Also constantly being compared with GOT and BrBa on IMDb.

Ntm it again broke Crunchyroll servers just like it did last year and during S4P1 as well.

Here's the list of all the achievements of AoT's S4 :-

I'm sure there would be a lot more as well, but ig I'll keep updating if I find any.
Anyways, thanks for the laugh tho, I'll give you that.

@Arjun_Manoj I haven't seen or read Chainsaw Man but I've heard that it gets substantially slower after the end of Part 1 and quite a few people didn't like that.

Chainsaw Man is still ongoing and has good volume sales. My whole point was AOT is gradually going to fall off because there’s only so much enjoyment you can watch from Eren the incel crying about wanting the love interest to obsess over him even after he dies.

A bit early to tell but we'll see in a few years if it refuses to die in our collective memory like Breaking Bad or the Sopranos or it becomes like Underworld, once huge but now forgotten.

If bottom of the barrel fiascos like Naruto, Code Geass and Death Note can still remain relevant till this date

It is possible that Attack on Titan will be treated in the same way as Naruto in the future

Lol "irrelevant" and "AOT" can never exist together
It will remain as one of the greatest piece of media to ever exist

Eren will always remain as an iconic anime character and the series has already created a lot of history to its name that imagining it as an irrelevant in future would be akin to forgetting that Japan exists on the world map
