Hange went full on fire mode there before her gastank exploded. Tho would be cool to see her last slice connect sadly rip. But the way everyone in afterline was there with Commander Erwin was cool asf. Hange part was adapted well!

| Chapter 1 Flawless opening scene. The terror of the Rumbling is captured to maximum effect and Yuki Kaji breathes life into Eren's inner monologue. This is the moment of realization where Eren is not a revolutionary. He's not a patriot nor is he a "Chad." He's the same boy that he was in S1, tragically bound to a cruel fate that he can only keep moving forward to. This scene alone opens up so many layers & angles to explore Eren's character. If ever there was a character to liken to Shakespearean tragedy, it would be Eren. I'll admit, I was expecting to come here dropping cringevengers memes and saluting the Jeagerists. While I do salute Floch in his final moments, I've actually been finding the Alliance more likable this time around. Maybe it's actually hearing the voices accompany the characters, as they feel more believable and not as superficial as it seemed in the manga. Hange's sendoff also hit much differently as well. I didn't really feel much about it with the manga whereas even knowing it was coming, I couldn't help but give my heart & get weepy eyed this time around. Chapter 2 Really solid segue into that (literal) cliffhanger. "In what way are you free?" The second part of the episode was definitely rife with words of wisdom. Reiner, Conny & Jean finally reach an understanding. Kiyomi realizing that regret comes too late and the Marleyans seeking penance for the monster they helped create. While many have likely noted the parallel between the Liberio Eldians and the start of season 1, I also see a parallel to the end of S3P1, when the Scouts are defending against the Rod Reiss titan. I was hoping to wait a bit longer before catching up, but this actually feels like a worthwhile stopping point. I'm definitely going to take advantage of the next two weeks to gather up my thoughts before the finale so I can better make sense of what's to come. 10/10 for the first episode of the first part of the final chapters of part three of the final season. |

| Zeke was reduced to Eren / Ymir's puppet, literally. Hange was right, Eren assimilated him. How the mighty have fallen... I wonder since Reiner detached him if that means he is no longer under the control of that ugly-ass giant. But if that's the case Eren should also no longer be able to control the Colossal Titans. Perhaps the control is a matter of will, not physical, and those string like roots were there to reabsorb him. It's interesting that Zeke is the only one Eren controlled. But I hope he does regain his free will for his last match with Levi; I doubt he would be satisfied to kill a puppet. Hange truly made a spectacular exit. Going down in flames, literally, is flashy af. She gave the team all the time they needed to flee. It's interesting how that General at the airbase took his time to self-reflect on Marley's faults against the Eldians. A bit too late, perhaps. It seems that imminent death brings about honesty and clarity. 11 more days to go for the final 3 episodes. I wonder how this story will end.. |

| WOW, just wow, what an amazing episode. This is the peak of AoT! I was glued to the screen the entire hour, and just wanted more when it ended! Just watched the trailer for the next episode, and oh my, IT'S GOING TO BE SO EPIC. First of all, YES, THE SHIP HAS SAILED, ARMIN AND ANNIE ARE A THING. I don't know about you, but a little detour from all the violence and darkness is very well appreciated, we all need a litle bit of love, right? The start of the episode was so intense, and it was so good to understand what Eren felt all this time. Knowing he would end up killing all those people, he just couldn't enjoy that time. And the paradox of him saving that child, when he knew that he would later kill that same child, is just wow, very well thought out. And then seeing the children being killed, the town destroyed, and just seeing a massive genocided by the Rumbling, it was so violent, but gave us a scent of the reality of that world, and even of what's happening in the world right now too. Hange, my hero, you'll always be remembered, you went out like a champ! Her fighting against the colossal titans was EPIC! And then her sacrifice so that the other could escape with the plane, I wasn't expecting her to die, why does Isayama kill all of my favorite characters? First Sasha, now Hange... I hope Mikasa stays safe... (with AoT you can never know). I didn't expect Floch to be the cause of that water droplets, how did he survived all of that? He's though, that's for sure! And then the last fighting is coming! The way the characters got out of the plane was just ICONIC. This anime is so good! I can't wait to see how everything goes in the next episode, that is coming next week already! I'm kinda glad I didn't need to wait that long! Also, Annie's dad is actually alive! That was surprising! AoT is coming to an end, and I'm not sure if I'm ready, but I know this anime is going to be my favourite for a long long time. AoT will always be THAT anime! |
| What a fantastic 1 hr episode of Attack on Titan's finale. Every worker who played a role in producing this episode did a phenomenal job. I'm so glad that MAPPA decided to delay the 2nd episode of this finale to a later date so that they could properly adapt both episodes of this finale to perfection. Looking forward to watching the final 1 hr 26min episode in 5 days when it comes out with all my friends. |
