| the cars in ogata's garage are probably all initial D callbacks, he's got a S14 that's the same color as kenta's (wrong generation though), a green S13 with 4-spoke wheels like iketani's, and a blue SW20 like kogashiwa's |

| TAKUMI IS BAAAAAACK LET S GOOOOOOO, I couldn't wait to get the adrenaline rush of this wonderful anime, initially D is the coolest anime with and about cars ever, I missed Takumi and his friends and now let's see what the new character is capable of, is he good enough to beat Takumi? |

| so for anyone that has read MF do the cars get pimped out at all later on ,everyone seems to be driving stock exotics where most likely a lot of stuff been done under the hood rich kids sport is right though i did see a few evo's and one with a carbon hood so maybe there will be some tuner races this episode needed one more to get over all the creepy/romance stuff and get to the cars what we're really here for ! | Going into this I had no idea. Admittedly I am a big Shigeno-sensei fan. So I was shocked when I realized this was his source work. I sure hope she doesn't turn out to be a skank like in Initial D. I am super pumped about this anime adaptation. Looking for the manga now. haha |
| I'm glad that I was able to complete all of Initial D a few weeks back before MF Ghost started. As a car enthusiast, seeing the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Lotus amongst other well known sports car brands battling it out put a huge smile on my face. =D Kanata is an interesting character so far, aside from saying English words here and there whenever he speaks. Not only does he get behind the wheel of a Toyota 86, but the infamous Eurobeat song kicked in as he lined up for his MFG run towards the end of the episode, which was a pretty hype moment. As for Ren, she's pretty likeable so far. It's a bit surprising to see her working as one of the MFG gird angels in that revealing outfit as a part time job while attending high school, so it does make me wonder if her parents know about it and approve of it or not. Either way, I did enjoy her interactions with Kanata as she showed him around. So overall, this episode was pretty good, even thought the pacing felt a bit quick. A future with full on EV and hydrogen powered vehicles (as was shown with a Nissan Leaf and Toyota Mirai in some background shots) isn't far away, but this series should be a reminder of how fun and enjoyable internal combustion engine (ICE) cars are. I do look forward seeing how this series will develop. =) |
| Waited a long time to see an Initial D successor.. although a very slow start to introduce the world and characters, I am enjoying it alot. Really has the same mood I get from the old show... especially when the eurobeat kicked in.. I was super worried for a moment that we won't have any in this new show since the great music made half of initial D what it is. Super hyped for the next episode! |

| I never watche Initial D before, just know the "Dejavu meme" and well, look like I'll can watch with no problems, right? I liked this first ep but I wanna see the racer. Maybe is the first race anime I watch since Speed Racer D: Loved this ep and hope the races can be so excited. Obs: first time I see in an anime this wonderfull chocolate I used to buy at local japanese market in my town <3  |
