| I like to call this phenomenon lowest common denominator humor. Is it in? Is it funny? Then people will laugh at it. With how easy memes can go viral nowadays and how many places on the internet like to reiterate the same jokes, I would honestly say that it is a human thing and it isn't just exclusive to YouTube or Anime or anything. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so why should you subject what you think is beautiful to the perspective of an unqualified critic when, alternatively, with critical thought and a hint of fanatical love, people can articulate their own takes rather than regurgitating tuberslop disguised as "their" opinion. I would sooner trust the opinions of my fellow MAL users than an influencer. |

| Not sure about anitubers, but fandoms generally are like that. Fate fandom: laughs at the same "people die when they are killed" or "just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right". Jojo fandom: laughs at any pose resembling a Jojo pose or "the greatest technology in the world". Demon Slayer fandom: laughs at any scene with chibi characters in it or Zenitsu chasing Nezuko. How do you guys keep laughing at the same jokes?? |
