Wait, why else would you get a Nintendo console if you're not in it for the first-party games? I'm just looking forward to Metroid Other M... I've been enveloped in that universe after discussing the time line. I guess I'm also still waiting for FRAGILE, but that's about it since I still think it'd be a miracle to pull a Zelda game this year, dunno why. |

If you ask me Nintendo is putting out some decent games finally to milk the Wii for a year or so until they get an HD console on the market. I hate to say it, but the Wii's days are definitely numbered. I believe it was Kotaku who mentioned that production is slowly being decreased. From what I've heard though, this past Christmas went exceptionally well for Nintendo, so here's to hoping that they bring out some more decent games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii that will make me finally start playing that poor, dusty console that's been abandoned for so long. You have the potential Nintendo - now just follow through. |

I'm pretty sure Final Fantasy VII isn't going to be made anytime soon. Based upon what they said about the infamous clip that spread all the rumors around. |

I think this year will be better for the Wii. With Fragile and Arc rise having an english release it is look up. On the other hand I have recently betrayed Wii and bought as PS2. You can see how much I think it is looking up |

Final Fantasy VII You can buy the port on the PSP off of PSN. Zelda 2010 Fragile Arc Rise Fantasia Endless Ocean I can't think of one 360 title or PS3 title that interests me enough. So the PS3 will continue to be out of my possession, and the Xbox 360 will continue to sit in my living room, collecting dust and being useless. At least Nintendo actually makes games. How many games did Sony and Microsoft put out this past year? |

My friend has an xbox and I think he bought maybe one new game that was decent. Well, I'm referring to first party games. Nintendo themselves make Mario, Zelda, Fire Emblem. They don't have third parties like Ubisoft do it for them, How many first party MS or Sony games have we had? Not too many. As for Nintendo is relying on the same franchises, couldn't that be said for all the systems? After all, where would the 360 be without Halo or Mass Effect? Where would the PS3 be without FF or Uncharted? And how many Halos do we have? How many FFs? It's the same principle. All consoles, not just Nintendo, rely on popular franchises to help keep their system afloat and bring popularity. The fact that Nintendo is able to rehash the same characters over and over again and still get the games to sell well means that they're doing something right, either in the eyes of the parents who are buying the games for their kids, or the kids who are playing them. You and I may not like it, but it sells well, and why would Nintendo want to stop making a product that sells well? They are not a non-profit organization; they're a company looking for money just like every other company. |

Don't try to pick at Microsoft and Sony because they don't make first-party games. They focus on developing their hardware and rely on third parties to sell the system, and there're nothing wrong with it since that's how this business works. Nintendo is just lucky that they've built a great reputation for themselves with the first-parties. Bottom line is, Nintendo is just a gaming company... lets see what Sony and Microsoft do... and I'm a Nintendo fanboy. =/ |

How can the Wii be slipping if it still out sold the PS3 and 360, I mean really. 2010 looks awesome on a few counts for me, my two favorite Wii games, No More Heroes and Super Mario Galaxy are getting sequels, Metroid looks awesome, Monster Hunter 3 has me excited, Epic Mickey, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Looks like a good year, with Zelda coming in December or so. |

It amuses me to see how almost every gaming thread turns into an inevitable console war debate or something related to the such. I can't understand why people can't enjoy all 3 companies equally, like I do. In terms of next gen systems, I only have a Xbox 360 (mainly because most of my friends bought one and we play online all the time). But I can think of many games on all three systems that I'm interested in playing being released in 2010. Just to name ones of the top of my head: Mass Effect 2 Dragon Age: Awakening Resonance of Fate (End of Eternity) FFXIII Zelda 2010 (though I'm already going to assume this will be delayed) Bayonetta Bioshock 2 Dante's Inferno White Knight Chronicles God of War 3 Yakuza 3 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Golden Sun DS (probably delayed as well). |

Bottom line is, Nintendo is just a gaming company... lets see what Sony and Microsoft do... and I'm a Nintendo fanboy. =/ I said they don't make many, not that they don't at all. I don't really see Sony and MS doing much "development". MS still suffers from RROD, and both of them are just ripping off of Nintendo with the motion sensor. I haven't seen much revolutionary from either system, except for maybe blu-ray or HD DVD. Nintendo IS a videogame company, which is why they have to be extra cautious. Thus they sell games they KNOW will sell. If MS and Sony's game industry fails they have other revenues they can continue with, where if Nintendo fails they end up with nothing. So they have to be very careful with what they release. Mario sells, Zelda sells. Thus they make them. There's nothing wrong with that. If you don't like it, don't buy Nintendo or seek out the third parties, as rare as those games may be. I find it hilarious that you can say that and consider yourself a nintendo fanboy where I don't even like the majority of Nintendo's franchises and still feel the need to defend them. It's not that I agree with them reusing the same franchises over and over, but if you look at it from an economical stand point, it makes sense. |

Maybe Nintendo doesn't have a whole lot of ingenuity in terms of creating new franchises, but let's be serious here, playing a Mario game is just plain old fun. If they can pull off a good game using the same character(s) over and over again, I'm all for it. Maybe you don't get to see a ton of different faces - so what. I'll take solid and/or nostalgic gameplay over half of the new third-party trash out there any day. Granted, the same goes for Microsoft and Sony. For example, I grew up playing Halo. If Microsoft produces a Halo game that's anything like the original three, I'll buy it. Why? Because to me playing as a spartan and fighting off hordes of alien enemies is just plain old fun. If companies can produce solid games with the same characters, I really don't see the problem. Doesn't change the fact that they're still fun to play. |

Well then that's kind of weird that you basically voice the same opinion as I did in the first post I made in the thread several times, but in each case did so in a tone that seemed as if disagreeing with me. "Let's face it" is a phrase that doesn't have a tone of agreement with the person being directed towards. Even though saying that the rumors around a Final Fantasy VII have been (mostly) was made by me in my first post to the thread. In fact both your "let's face it statement" and the one about the Wii and Final Fantasy VII were probably best directed at the OP who made them, blt, not me. Or did you really mean "let's face it" in a affirming and agreeing way and I just didn't realize it? Because your posts are basically affirming the same things I've said in this thread. Albeit in a more aggressive and telling fashion. Generally people do not aggressively agree, so I've been awfully confused by your statements and choice of response and wording. |

The game might be licensed by Sony, thus SE would have to get permission to put it on a non-Sony system. SE is not owned by Sony. If that were the case, they couldn't develop games for the Wii or the Xbox 360. |

What's your point? There have been remakes, so it's not like you can just throw it out since it's never been on a "big console" -- The DS is pretty fucking big FYI. The only reason why it wouldn't happen is cost, but really, if you put "Final Fantasy 7" on any game it will sell a million copies, this is a proven fact. Personally I don't give a shit, but there's always that small chance of it happening. Likely? Not at all. |

The DS is a handheld console, while the three former are just referred to as "consoles". I can't really see a FF7 remake in the future any time soon since SE doesn't seem to want to mess with the actual 7 game. So for now all we can expect are remakes and maybe the occasional spin off game like Crisis Core or Dirge of Cerberus. |

In my opinion, Nintendo hasn't really had the best line up of games for me the past few years (for my tastes anyway), and was usually the system that stayed put away in it's box the most. In 2007 and 2008, XBOX 360 had the best. In 2009, Sony had the best. (again, for my personal tastes) However, now in 2010, I am actually looking more forward to the Wii line up than the others. Even still, since I play pretty much any kind of genre (even horse racing simulators, I play it all XD), I am able to pretty much find any game on any console that will interest me to some extent. My thoughts anyway. :) |

2010 looks like a good year for Wii and I hope some haters stop with their mindless hating soon. I agree that Nintendo has made plenty of mistakes, but I will never agree on people saying that there is no games for the Wii. I can find plenty of enjoyable games, it's just that it's only the AAA-titles (Mario, Zelda, Metroid) that is shown and loved by gamers. It's a shame, really. Anyway... Arc Rise Fantasia Endless Ocean 2 Epic Mickey Fragile Dreams Metroid: Other M Monster Hunter 3 Trauma Team Rune Factory: Frontier Sin & Punishment 2 Super Mario Galaxy 2 Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Zelda: Wii Just to mention a few. And I have plenty of older titles that I also want. Can't have 'em all though. ;_; |

Wii 2010 does have a decent list actually this year: No More Heroes 2 Monster Hunter 3 Metroid other m (When I saw team ninja, I crapped myself.) Zelda wii 2010 (We'll see, but in my opinion it's probably going to go the twilight princess route and get delayed for sometime.) Last flight (get the motherfreakin vampires off the motherfreakin plane!) Sadness (It's a long story, but I still have hope.) |
Something cool to be placed here in the near future. |
