How many are worth watching?

| There are a lot of hidden gems but the ones that stand out and are truly artistic and worth every second of my time (which are in my completed list) are around 15 - 30. |

| Watch as much as you want. There is no objectivity when it comes to how much you must consume media. Watch what you like. If you're new to anime, I suggest you watch everything. By everything, I mean watch at least a show from every genre. Starting with the most popular shows is also good. Once you reach a certain amount (let's say, about 100-200), you will have already developed a taste. And from there on, watch the things you like and avoid the things you don't like. It's that simple. |

| Looking at the top 50 right now, there are 14 shows worth watching there, ~10% are worth it. |

| This site has about 600 anime alone that are rated 8+, not to mention hundreds of hidden gems that are in the 6 and 7 range Personally, I think there's only about 500-700 anime that interest me in any way, however. |

| Depends on your taste tbh, if you watch all kinds of genres then around 800 or something Ig. For me, I would say around 300 because my taste isn't very diverse. |

| Depends on what you mean by worth watching ig. Stuff you don't like and stuff you like can both be worthwhile (maybe?), but I'd rather stick to my small circle of genres. I'll guess around 200-300 would let me leave feeling somewhat satisfied. |

| 100 - 300 is a good number. I'm struggling to complete 300 anime on mal (counting sequels). I watched 163 unique series until today, I don't think I'll watch more than 300 on my life. |

| Depends on what you define as worthy. Is enjoyment enough for you? Do you want the anime you watch to have meaning? For me personally even ‚bad‘ anime can be worth a while. They make you realize what doesn‘t work and might change your likes and dislikes. Sometimes bad content is so bad in a way that it inspires you. So yeah. Anything can be worth watching with a suitable perspective in mind. |
