Personally, I would pick Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family and Kaguya Sama (Season 3) as the top-3 contenders for Anime of the Year 2022. That show had more character development in 10 episodes than Monster in 74. |

| It's always going to be a popularity contest with these things, always has been and always will be until the day people who make anime decide what's the #1 title of the year. Just find the highest rated in the 10 most popular anime this year and BAM you have your winner Regarding Cyberpunk though for the small amount of faults with it having this as an actual contender with how well Arcane did last year shows it is possible to make series based off video games (Granted this one is a prequel with no carryover onto the game). Video game adaptions have the curse of being shit at least 95% of the time |

| Cyberpunk Edgerunners is just recency bias so no. Dress Up Darling, Kaguya, Spy X, and CSM is also just recency bias. Anime of the year would definitely be bleach, the mal ratings and poll rankings speak for themselves. |

| People have some insanely awful takes about this series. Yeah it's my anime of the year and it's not even close. I liked stuff like Mob Psycho S3, Bocchi, and CSM, but Edgerunners honestly clears imo. |
