| This whole show is weird , the characters are weird af , the twist is weird , so i’m not surprised of yet another weird stupid a$$ twist where they ruin an innocent wholesome girl just to prove Mizuto’s feelings for Yume .. honestly I wouldn’t give this show more than a 5-6/10 .. also i just wanted to say , the two MCs are probably the worst RomCom duo i’ve ever seen god they irritate me both of them and Minami as well , Higashira is the only positive in this anime |
| Anyone besides me think that Higashira is neurodivergent (autism spectrum, maybe Asperger’s)? That was my first impression when the character was introduced. Anime romances have a long history of characters that fit the autism spectrum. The behavior of our two stalkers was questionably abusive. This episode came perilously close to ‘let’s make fun of the autistic girl’. Having said that, I give them the benefit of the doubt, and I will still watch, and try to enjoy this romance. |

I think as the audience we are meant to se the duos actions as forceful and unwanted, but Higashira and Mizuto act in a mature way and come out on top. So I think the writing here is solid. I assume Yume is trying to dry her own feelings and put them aside, which explains what she is pushing Higashira. I figure that Minami is a drama queen who just wants to watch the world burn, and she’s pushing because she wants Higashira to fail, which is why she’s so upset at the end when the friendship is preserved in spite of their interference. Also, In this episode and the last they are both reading the Haganai Light novel, which, in broad strokes, has the moral that ‘friendship is far more important than romantic relationships’. Its probably just product placement for Kodakawa but it is also really thematic so I think it’s on point. |

| Two characters of the same gender are super friends - people are constantly trying to ship them to each other and sexualize any of their interactions. The boy and girl are super friends - people get mad when someone or even the author himself puts a romantic context into it, insisting that the idea of best friends will be ruined and spoiled by any tension between the characters. |
