| i just started watching the show UzaMaid! today and my god the female adult MC of that show (Tsubame). idk if i will make it to the end of the show but if anyone's wondering why i'm watching it: if the fact that Tsubame wasn't an active child predator was removed from her character and the plot was adjusted to accomodate that, this could actually have been a really good heartwarming/funny show with a very interesting and unique set of main character dynamics. it has a lot of moments that are touching, cute, or funny, only to be ruined by the fact that Tsubame is a pedophile and turns each of these moments into something creepy and gross, or as the japanese say, "kimochi warui". also, i like that the loli MC (Misha) immediately recognizes that Tsubame is a pedo and actively calls her out on it since episode 1 multiple times per episode, but there's already been a few episodes where even though Misha realizes this and tries to deal with it, she begins to fall for Tsubame's adult manipulation and grooming techniques. and im only on episode 4. the show is also unsettling realistic in the fact that Misha's dad is oblivious to Tsubame's intentions (even when Misha's school calls him to tell him that Tsubame was stalking Misha at school, and this is one of the LEAST creepy things she has done already) and he is overworked and absent from his daughter's life making Misha even more vulnerable to Tsubame's predations. when Misha complains about Tsubame to him, he doesn't take her seriously, either because she is a kid or because he is just dumb as rocks, and this too is something that sadly happens a lot in real life. |
